That looks great! Tri-tip is my go-to meat for BBQ, as well. On my Weber 22" kettle grill, I push the coals to one side and put the tri-tip on the other side, with a pan of water directly below the meat. I smoke it at 225-250 deg. for 1.5-2 hours, then place it over the coals to sear it.

Choice Hotels just temporarily upped their sign-on bonus for their Choice Privileges Rewards Credit Card from 32,000 points to 50,000. If you don't already have this card, I highly recommend signing up. I signed up last year when the bonus was 40,000 points, and those points covered all but 2 nights of my week-long coaster trip last year. Rooms typically range from 8,000 - 25,000 points per night, depending on which hotel you stay at, what time of year, etc. This card has no annual fee, so if you really wanted to, you could cash in the bonus points and then never use the card again. The card offers 2 points/dollar on all purchases, plus 15 points/dollar on Choice Hotels reservations, so if anything, keep it and use it to book your hotels. Their hotels aren't luxurious by any means, but the half-dozen or so that I've stayed at have all been clean and had comfortable beds - which is all I need.

Anyone interested in a discounted Knott's Berry Farm Hotel room on the night of Saturday, 8/17/19? I had set up a group rate at the hotel for the nights of 8/16 and 8/17 for my wedding, but most of my friends and family decided to only stay Friday night and I still have a bunch of openings for Saturday. Unfortunately, I've already signed a contract for both those nights and will be penalized if I don't fill the rooms for both nights. So if you're looking for a Saturday night getaway at Knott's, this is the perfect opportunity to go cheap! The rates are $139 (incl. parking) for a standard room (2 double beds OR 1 king bed) and $189 (incl. parking) for an oversized room. The normal rates for those rooms are $179 and $239 + parking, respectively. There are 10 rooms that need to be filled. To get these rates, call the hotel at 714-995-1111 and book under "Joe's and Iona's Wedding". The deadline to book is this Tuesday, 7/23/19, at 4pm.

Twisted Colossus, yesterday. -
Everything is basically the same as it was a few years ago. All rides have bins/shelves off to the side for your backpacks/drinks, except for X2. If you show up there with any loose items, they will make you buy a $1 locker. No outside food or drinks are allowed. You can bring water bottles, but they’re like the TSA; they will make you empty them out before entering the park. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'd definitely recommend getting an all day locker. You buy them at the kiosks inside the locker stations. When buying it, the machine will ask you to set a user ID and a passcode - which you use to check in to each locker station. You're technically supposed to hit the "End Rental" buttons on the side of the locker when you move to a different one, but those buttons worked maybe 1 out of the 6 times I tried it last year. Maybe they work now... probably not. If you don't do this, the machine will nag you for it; but other than that, it's no big deal if you don't. -

I want to say Pepsi cans have discounts. You could also check King Soopers as well. None of the commercials here have been clueing in on discounts yet. If I see something I'll let you know. Thanks, man! I'm not really a soda drinker, but I'll tolerate a Pepsi if it means cheaper EG tickets. -

Hey all, I'll be in Denver on a business trip next month and might try to sneak in a few hours at Elitch Gardens. Their pricing for day tickets already isn't that bad, but are there any places to find discounted tickets? I checked Tickets At Work, but they don't sell Elitch tickets. -
I stopped by SFMM yesterday and tried the app out. I had my phone in my pocket, using a clip to secure it to my pocket so it didn’t jostle around. It’s interesting that Revolution pulls higher G’s than Tatsu. Tatsu’s pretzel loop feels like it’s trying to flatten you. But maybe it’s the flying position that makes it feel more intense than in the sitting position. Overall, this is a really cool app! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
