  1. If it's a boy, name him Zach so when you take him to MiA, you can try to convince him Zach's Zoomer is named after him.

  7. We Californians will gladly take that 285-ft "not a real giga" B&M off your hands if you don't want it.
  8. The park can definitely be done in two days, especially during the week. On a summer weekend.... forget it. I believe this park offers early entry for membership holders, but I'm not completely sure as I couldn't find any info on the park website, and I stopped paying attention to it after they stopped offering it for Gold Season Pass holders - which is what I have. Maybe someone else can chime in on this. Anyway, get there as early as possible. X2, Full Throttle, CraZanity, and Superman have the four longest waits in the park, so knock them out as soon as possible when you get there. As you're walking up from the parking lot, watch X2 to see if it is testing. If so, head straight there once you get into the park. Then, head up the hill to Superman and then down to CraZanity, since these rides probably won't have built up long waits yet. Full Throttle, on the other hand, will probably have an hour wait by this point so, on your second day, head straight for Full Throttle at park opening. From there, just make a big circle around the park. You could skip the rides with single rider lines (Viper, Riddler, and Lex Luthor) and come back to them later, as the SRLs are not well marked and few people seem to know about them. I've been able to walk right on to Riddler on crowded Saturdays using the SRL - and Viper almost never has more than a station wait, anyway. You should be able to ride most - if not all - of the major coasters in one day, but it's good to plan for 2 days like you did. This park doesn't have much besides coasters, but definitely check out CraZanity and Lex Luthor. CraZanity is probably the best giant frisbee I've ridden. While California's regulations can be pretty insane at times, one thing they've done right is allowed Magic Mountain to run their drop tower at the same time as the coaster it's attached to. *coughcoughGreatAdventure* It's pretty eerie to be on Lex Luthor while a car is dispatched on Superman. I've also heard other enthusiasts comment that SFMM's Justice League is better than at some of the other parks. (I haven't ridden any of the others yet, so I can't speak from experience there.) Like Canobie said, definitely check out the gyro place next to Goliath (inside Food Etc.). Ace O' Clubs BBQ across from Justice League is also pretty tasty. Also, there's a roasted corn stand between Green Lantern and Batman that just recently started allowing dining plan holders to redeem their snack there. That's the plan, unfortunately.
  9. Awesome, thank you! Top 10: 1. Maverick 2. Steel Vengeance 3. Millennium Force 4. Twisted Colossus 5. Phantom's Revenge 6. X2 7. Top Thrill Dragster 8. Xcelerator 9. Diamondback 10. Ghostrider
  10. Not that it's an emergency, but I'm not able to view my rankings. I tried logging into my profile and hitting "rankings", and received the 404 error shown in the screenshot. I then tried copying and pasting coasterbill's URL into the address bar and changing the username to "joelwee", but still got the same result. If I thought hard enough, I could probably remember my top 10 and bottom 10 rankings, but I'm too lazy and would rather just look them up.
  11. Stunt Coaster was the sleeper hit of my trip last summer. The upward helix was pretty forceful, and that dip at the end gave a decent amount of airtime. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. ...not to mention the green Intamin paperweight next to Riddler and Batman. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. ^^ Xcelerator is on one-train ops right now, but a second train on that ride honestly doesn’t help much anyway. Since it launches right out of the station, the ride ops have to wait for the train to clear the top hat before pulling the second train into the station. The second half of the ride is so short that by the time the second train stops in the station, the first train is already at the final brake run. Everything else was running 2 trains last Sunday. Friday will definitely be less crowded than Saturday, but just an FYI, Calico Mine Ride is scheduled to be down for maintenance now through Friday. Rides that are down for maintenance occasionally re-open sooner than expected, but just know that there’s a good possibility it won’t be open Friday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. The SRL was moving quickly yesterday, since there were a lot of single riders in the Fast Lane line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I stopped by the park yesterday to check out the last day of the Boysenberry Festival. The park was PACKED, especially over by Ghostrider where about half of the food stands were located, but it was still an enjoyable day. This was my first time at the park since WCB. I noticed others talking about a single rider line at Ghostrider (which I didn't use, since my fiancee was with me and she wanted to ride together). Somebody had mentioned that you need to ask a ride op whether they're using it that day.... not anymore! There's now a sign installed outside the queue building, telling riders whether the SLR is open or closed that day. We picked up a tasting card and some good boysenberry eats. We mainly focused on food items that weren't carried over from previous years. Some thoughts: - Boysenberry chicken jambalaya: This was the first item we tried and I had mixed feelings about it. Each bite delivers the flavors of the chicken, sausage, and other spices from the get go, and then the boysenberry flavor is almost an aftertaste. I'm pretty sure they took a good recipe for jambalaya, threw in some boysenberry syrup, and called it a day. That being said, it was delicious; the boysenberry just seemed unnecessary. - Boysenberry habanero baked mac and cheese: I'm a sucker for good mac and cheese. It had good flavor, and the boysenberry flavoring fit well with this one. The only disappointment was, for something claiming to contain habanero, I didn't taste much spice at all. - Pulled pork tostada: This was another one which - though it was delicious - I had mixed feelings about. It was pulled pork, on top of a tostada shell, drizzled with shredded cabbage and boysenberry BBQ sauce. Were they going for Mexican food, or southern BBQ? Either way, it worked really well and I really enjoyed it. - Boysenberry sausage: This was the only carried-over item that we had yesterday, just because it was always delicious in past years, and it did not disappoint. The sausage had great flavor, it had that good snap when you bite into it, and the boysenberry mustard complemented it really well. - Boysenberry chili in a boysenberry bread bowl: Holy cow, this stuff was good! After trying the jambalaya, I was expecting the chili to be a somewhat bland bowl of chili, overpowered by boysenberry syrup. It actually had a decent amount of spice, with just a hint of boysenberry - just the right amount. It was drizzled with cheddar cheese, as well. The bread bowl was boysenberry-colored and also had just a hint of boysenberry flavoring. It was a delicious combination, and I would've gladly gone back for another bowl if the line wasn't so long. - Boysenberry pot roast with boysenberry mashed potatoes: I believe the pot roast was also a carry-over from last year, but I don't recall them serving boysenberry mashed potatoes with it. The pot roast is always delicious - good flavor, and tasted like it had been slow-cooking all day in a pot of deliciousness. The boysenberry mashed potatoes had just a hint of boysenberry and complemented the pot roast really well. It was also drizzled with sliced carrots, which had soaked up the flavor of the roast and were also delicious. - Salmon with mixed greens: This was a lighter entree, which consisted of a small piece of salmon served over a bed of lettuce, topped with berries, and drizzled with boysenberry vinaigrette. The salmon was really tasty, and lacked the fishy flavor that's often found in salmon. The fruits and mixed greens with the vinaigrette were refreshing on a warm day like yesterday, and provided a nice break from the heavy foods we'd been eating up until then. - Cinnamon and sugar tortilla chips with boysenberry ice cream: We finished off with this one, and it was quite a tasty dessert. I love the combination of cinnamon and sugar. The ice cream was soft serve, which made it conducive to dipping the chips in it. Yum yum!
  16. Xcelerator at Knott's Berry Farm. It's a short ride, but still has one of the best launches around. I was going to try and get a night ride on Ghostrider, but it broke down in the evening and so I decided to call it a night since I had an early start at work the next morning.
  17. ^ To be fair, the two hour waits are partially due to GR’s abysmal ops. That being said, almost everyone I know who has been to Knott’s - enthusiast or otherwise - LOVES Ghostrider. I’m really glad the park invested in refurbishing that ride instead of scrapping / RMCing it. It has my favorite layout on any wooden coaster and has been glass smooth since the GCI refurb. 18. What a great idea! I'm going to try it out this weekend at Knott's.
  19. Actually, we implemented a new policy this year! If your row is empty, you can reride! That's pretty awesome, and its surprising from a Six Flags park! SFMM has always allowed re-rides, and SFDK allowed them when I was there last summer. In fact, on slow days, the ride ops at SFMM will announce that you're welcome to re-ride if nobody is waiting in your row. In my experience, it's typically Cedar Fair parks that make you exit and re-enter the station between rides - unless there's an ERT event going on.
  20. The POV looks great! I was surprised that the train basically used up all of its momentum leading up to the MCBR, but like others have said, it will probably run faster in the summer. I've gotta get up to this park soon.
  21. They’re really just moving dirt. There are a few Facebook pages and YouTube channels that have been covering material deliveries. The track just started arriving a week ago. I was at the park about a week ago and they were still in the middle of pouring concrete footers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. Those lighted wheels have been on Tatsu since Fright Fest last year. They looked really cool flying through the pitch darkness. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
