  1. From the SFOG thread: I had noticed Revolution running only one train over the past few weeks and had just assumed the 2nd train was being rehabbed. I wonder if Six Flags plans on using that train on Mindbender and keeping Revolution at permanent one-train ops? Permanent one-train ops isn't a typical practice for Magic Mountain, but Revolution rarely has a sizeable wait anymore and doesn't have much need for a second train outside of exceptionally crowded days - so who knows?

  3. West Coast Racers is testing this evening. MrAmusementMedia on Instagram posted a couple of videos of trains being launched on the yellow side. It looks like a crazy fun ride. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. Meh, to me it just means shorter queue times. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. It appears to be only running one train, though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. The park posted on Twitter that they will be closed today due to inclement weather. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. West Coast Racers apparently ran a test launch on the yellow side last night. The train reached the first hill and then rolled back into the station. I’m at the park right now. There are some guys working on the LSMs on the yellow launch, but I haven’t seen any test runs so far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Speaking of Vortex, the lift motor has been removed. Photo credit: Kings Island Forever on Facebook Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. ^ Technically, most enthusiasts are GP, too - the exceptions being those who work in the amusement industry.
  11. Apocalypse is definitely running better than Gold Striker right now. Gold Striker shuffled and jackhammered like crazy when I rode it about 3 months ago. Apocalypse, on the other hand, is running great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. https://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain/attractions/thrill-rides I just checked the site using Chrome from my laptop and it is still there. It’s still listed on the app, too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. I like Iron Reef, but I typically skip it since it has one of the longest waits in the park, and I’d rather spend that time waiting for a coaster. I’ll definitely get down to the park for a last ride on Iron Reef. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Speaking of Vortex, has demolition started yet? Word on the street is the park wants it gone by the beginning of Winterfest, but there was a similar rumor floating around about Firehawk last year, so who knows?
  18. I agree. Based on my recent rides on both, Apocalypse is actually running better than Gold Striker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I went in 2018. Everything was a station wait or walk-on during ERT except Steel Vengeance - which had over an hour wait, running 2 trains. Horray for metal detectors. Jesus, that's insane. Might be worth it for all those sweet Millennium Force rides though...Thanks for sharing. Mind you, that was BEFORE they installed metal detectors or required people to empty their pockets before getting in line. For some reason, the crew waited until a train reached the station before they dispatched the next one - even if the next one was ready to go earlier. It was their first day back to 2-train ops after the collision.

  21. I'm late to the party (funeral?), but somebody on Instagram posted a video of the salute to Vortex. They played "Taps" over the lift hill speakers after its last ride. Link to video
  22. Yeah, anytime after New Year’s would be ideal. The park is typically a ghost town, especially during the week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Boardwalk BBQ (next to Xcelerator ) is also really good. It’s my go-to restaurant inside the park. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. 1. Don’t park at the mall. Security will tow your car if they see you park there and walk over to Knott’s. 2. Ghostrider typically has the longest wait out of all the coasters, so hit it first. Other than that, since you’re visiting on a Monday, the park shouldn’t be too crowded. I don’t think you really need a strategy for the rest of the park. Looking at the list of scheduled ride closures, everything should be open except Mystery Lodge, which is down for refurbishment. Have fun! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
