  1. Ride ticket purchases will also be limited to Santa Clara County residents, per state guidelines.
  2. Santa Clara County is still in the orange tier, which means only small parks can open with a 25%/500-person capacity, so this does not include CGA.
  3. So, word on the street is that Newsom is releasing theme park guidelines tonight, but he has been saying that for the past 3 months, so I am not holding my breath. The rumored guidelines include: - Advance ticket sales required - 25% capacity - Face coverings required - Admission limited to people living within a certain distance of the park
  4. Yep, it's killing us to live near all these awesome parks and have none of them open.
  5. I received a park planning survey for Holiday In The Park this morning. Aside from proposing various COVID-related safety measures (masks, social distancing, the whole nine yards....), it proposed several possible scenarios for HITP: - A walk-thru experience inside the park with lights, music, and s'mores pits, but no rides or indoor activities. Masks and social distancing would be required; - A more "normal" HITP with lights, music, rides, and s'mores pits where various COVID-related measures are implemented, like masks and socially-distanced Santa visits; - A drive-thru experience.
  6. Nope. Every day has been a ghost town. [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. They’ll probably just re-release the 2020 announcement video with the year adjusted. [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. 1. Maverick 2. Steel Vengeance 3. Millennium Force 4. Raptor 5. Top Thrill Dragster 6. Gatekeeper 7. Magnum XL-200 8. Valravn 9. Wicked Twister 10. Gemini 11. Blue Streak 12. Rougarou 13. Iron Dragon 14. Cedar Creek Mine Ride 15. Corkscrew
  9. The park is currently replacing their iconic “K” logo on Sky Cabin. The new sign is going up today. H/T @knottsnetwork and @themeparkaccess on IG. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I'm curious to see if Magic Mountain continues 365-day operation once they re-open or if they'll go back to weekends only at the end of summer.
  11. Yes, I plan on visiting Magic Mountain and Knott's when they re-open, since I have season passes for both. I don't plan on travelling to any distant parks in the near future, since (a) I have a baby due in a few weeks, and (b) I'd rather wait until mask/social distancing requirements are lifted. I'll also avoid particularly hot days at the parks as long as masks are required.
  12. I never visited any Paramount parks pre-Cedar Fair, but Backlot Stunt Coaster at KI and Flight Deck at CGA were my favorite Paramount-era attractions at their respective parks.
  13. Today is the park's 49th birthday. Here's a quarantine salute to 49 more.
  14. He is already saying in the follow-up comments that it's not a new coaster. Maybe new trains for an existing coaster? The little bit we can see looks like a Millennium Force train.
  15. California Health and Human Services Agency spokesperson Kate Folmar announced today that amusement parks will open in Phase 3 of the state's reopening plan - which is being implemented on a regional basis. The state is just beginning the early stages of Phase 3, allowing barber shops and nail salons to open today. Gov. Newsom also announced today in his livestream that he would allow counties to open certain cities within said counties if they meet the criteria to do so. L.A. County will be one of the last counties allowed to advance to Phase 3, but the City of Santa Clarita (which contains Valencia) is one of several cities in northern L.A. County that applied for a regional variance due to relatively low COVID cases - which the County said they would likely grant if allowed to do so by the State. Of course, no date has been announced for when parks will be allowed to open, but this is good news for California parks nonetheless.
  16. Exciting stuff! Some images of Raptor track with "SFMM" written and engraved on them have surfaced on InstaGram. H/T Analogue_Thrills
  17. The park just announced a few changes to their Marketplace offerings. - The Berry Market now has reserved hours for seniors and high-risk customers between 9:00-10:00 AM, with general access between 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM every day. - Curbside pickup for Online Marketplace orders is now available Thursdays, in addition to Fridays and Saturdays. Hours are still between 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM. - Starting May 21, boysenberry plants can be ordered for curbside pickup. I’m glad to see this venture working out for the park. We ordered some chicken and boysenberry pie to go on Sunday, and there were tons of other orders waiting at the curbside pickup table when we arrived. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Six Flags just updated the schedules in their app to show a 7/1 opening day for all of their parks. While that isn't news to anybody here, the local media has been reporting that Magic Mountain is reopening on May 15 - despite the state's SAH order still being in effect.
  19. ^ Nice! I've been having boysenberry pie withdrawals. I'll have to make a trip down there this week. Just an FYI, for anyone thinking of doing curbside pickup from the California Marketplace: curbside pickup is currently only available on Fridays and Saturdays, between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Orders placed by Wednesday will be available for pickup either Friday or Saturday; orders placed by Thursday will be available on Saturday only. Full details are available here. Also, full details on Chicken To Go's menu and ordering procedures are available here. Phone ordering launches tomorrow.
  20. Based on Gov. Gavin Newsom's reopening plan, it sounds like California's parks aren't reopening anytime soon. While he didn't specifically mention amusement parks, I assume he is lumping them in Phase 4, with other events that draw large crowds - such as concerts, convention centers, and sports with live crowds. Phase 4 will take place when a vaccine is available to the public. 2021, anybody?
  21. They only have one parking lot coaster and that’s Scream. Colossus and part of X were both built over old parking lots, too.
  22. I can see the park releasing the POV when they have a definite opening day. It’ll help get people excited and boost attendance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Both California's and Ohio's governors recently stated they don't plan on allowing large gatherings until a vaccine is widely available - which will likely be 2021.
