  1. Many of SFMM's restrooms are filthy and outdated - in some cases, worse than CP's - but they have been upgrading them one by one. I didn't think CP's restrooms were that bad, save for the crazy amount of bugs stuck to the flush valves and faucets.
  2. Yeah, this park and KBF are both terrible at enforcing their line jumping policies. That's odd about the dining pass. A year or so ago, they'd allow you to use it up until 7:45, even though the "official" cutoff time is 7:30.
  3. On my trip, I used Waze for navigation. Under settings, I checked "Avoid Toll Roads"; the route it took me was only 5 minutes longer than the route with toll roads.
  4. ^^ SFMM sent out that same notice, word for word, except the challenge is to ride Tatsu seven times in a row and ride Twisted Colossus in front without closing your eyes.
  5. ^ I never got to ride Flashback, as it had already been turned into a batch of Hampton Bay toaster ovens by the time I became interested in coasters. Still, it sounds more fun and reliable than GL. Is Knott's old Boomerang still up for sale, though?
  6. To me, it seemed pointless to have CraZanity rotate back to its original position, considering they don't have assigned seating. CP and KI's giant frisbees have numbered, assigned seating. In this case, rotating the seats back to their original positions allows the ride ops to direct guests to their assigned seats, instead of telling them just to walk around and look for them. But considering SFMM doesn't do this with CraZanity, what's the point?
  7. ^ Steel Vengeance is an amazing coaster, but if it was pulling 2-hour waits while the park's other amazing coasters had 15-30 minute waits, I'd push SV off for another day. It's quite a contrast from SFMM, where the RMC hass the fastest moving line in the park, and is my go-to ride on crowded days.
  8. ^^ CP and KI have a pretty efficient system with their giant frisbees, too. Each seat was numbered, and each guest was assigned a numbered seat before boarding. Of course, this required someone to stand out in front of the gate with a clipboard and assign seat numbers, but this could easily be done between dispatches. It seemed to cut down on confusion over trying to fill in empty seats.
  9. I really like Apocalypse, as well. After its recent retracking, it's much smoother.
  10. Nice! These are my home parks, so I'll try to make it to at least one of those days.
  11. How long have the Crazanity lines been? It was a little over an hour long yesterday.
  12. It sounds like, if SF ran their VR rides like that, operations would go much more smoothly than they did. At SFMM, there were TVs in the queue line, which told guests to put on their headsets before getting on the ride, and instructed them how to do so. The ride ops would then tell guests to take OFF their headsets when they were getting on the ride, and then put them back on. It took a ridiculous amount of time and confusion to dispatch each train because the right hand didn't seem to know what the left hand was doing. SFMM is running DC Superheroes VR on Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom this year. It's slowing down dispatches a little bit, but not nearly as bad as last year.
  13. VR on a 1-train hypercoaster sounds like every enthusiast's nightmare, TBH. When SFMM put VR on Revolution, it was running 5-minute dispatches, even with 2-train operation.
  14. Forgot to mention it (since I didn't ride), but TC was not doing great either. They were only running 2 trains, even with a line in the station. I waited for a little bit, then realized it was going to be about 30 minutes and decided to bail. I thought TC was always supposed to run 3 trains? Especially surprising on a weekend day during the summer. That's a bummer. They typically run 2 trains on weekdays during the winter, but other than that, I've always seen them run 3. If the park was dead that day, that's probably why they didn't run a third train.
  15. Whatever happened to Great American Scream Machine's trains?
  16. And also for the YUUUUUUGE bruises on everyone's thighs.
  17. ^ Yeah, I've noticed that this park's operations on every ride except TC have been terrible this summer. It's definitely aggravating to stand in line and watch the ROs zone out. I drove by the park on the 5 freeway last night and noticed Crazanity's light package. It really stands out from the rest of the park at night. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take a picture, since I was driving. Hopefully, I'll be able to head down there this week and ride it.
  18. Cedar Point: Maverick (1) + Steel Vengeance (2) = 3 SFMM: Twisted Colossus (4) + X2 (6) = 10 Knott's Berry Farm: Xcelerator (8) + Ghostrider (10) = 18 Kings Island: Diamondback (9) + Mystic Timbers (11) = 20
  19. ^ That's awesome. I'll have to hurry and finish changing my transmission fluid so I can head down to the park for some 110-degree ERT.
  20. How have crowds been on these 100+ degree days? I was thinking they'd be ideal days to go because (1) people will stay home because it's too stinking hot to be outside, and (2) the coasters will run faster because of the heat.
  21. Castles 'N' Coasters - Phoenix, AZ
  22. Not including my home park (SFMM)... Hangtime (Knott's Berry Farm) Steel Vengeance (Cedar Point)
