  1. If SF bought Cedar Point . . . well . . . . road trips galore What if Batman & Robin: The Chiller wasn't a mechanical fustercluck and actually ran like it was intended to?
  2. I like the announcement as you're waiting to be launched in Kinga Ka . . . "Arms down, head back, hold on"
  3. How the bloody hell did you pass the time waiting in line?
  4. Well . . . here I go for my homepark; Six Flags America 1. Removing Two Face: The Flip Side 2. Keeping the "famous" Hall Manor hidden behind a mess of trees 3. Not giving Roar the RMC treatment
  5. Regarding X2 . . . . what's the longest wait in line you've had for it? I had asked this on a YouTube POV clip of the ride and one of the responses I got was "between 2 and 3 hours"
  6. Someday . . . . I will make it to the other Six Flags parks (I've already done Great Adventure and America is my home park)
  7. I think Roar at SFA should get the RMC treatment . . . . And in hindsight, I thought Rolling Thunder at SFGAd should've been RMC'd instead of scrapped.
  8. Why can't you select your own seat on Wicked Cyclone?
  9. No, they close for the season after January 2nd. Starting on November 19th they do their Holiday in the Park event celebrating the most holy time of year. This is a New Jersey tradition where we celebrate the birth of the savior by entering a whimsical mountain adorned with a skull bleeding out of it's eyes covered in glittering lights to ride a coaster while listening to the timeless holiday death metal inside (as Jesus would have wanted). Then we power ride an 80 MPH hypercoaster on 29 degree nights for hours upon hours as a sign of respect for the forgiveness of sins or something. Then we gorge ourselves on waffles. Amen. And let us say a blessing to the Coaster gods of B&M, Intamin, S&S Worldwide
  10. Thanks for the tip. Didn't know until you said so that Frontier is closed . . . but I was able to do Bizarro back in June when I went. I know on Saturday it opens at 11 am . . . and I'll likely leave home no later than 7:30 am (I'd rather give myself more time than I really need . . )
  11. (If I don't have to work on Saturday) . . . yeah, I'll be trekking 166 miles from Columbia, MD. And I MAY consider getting Flash Pass (Platinum) . . . dunno how busy it'll be, but . . . you never know
  12. I had read that Superman: Ride of Steel, Joker's Jinx and Batwing would be closed during HITP because of either maintenance or it would be too cold for them to be run?
  13. What's the deal with Gwazi? Rough ride? Boring? (I ask because I've never been to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.
  14. I know for sure I'll be doing Six Flags America on a weekly basis in 2017 (it's my home park after all). And I WILL make another trip (or two) to SFGAdv . . . looking forward to the Justice League: Battle for Metropolis 4d dark ride
  15. Tree swings among the ruins The crumbling ruins of Hall Manor at SFA (10-15-16) Creepy angelic statues . . . . A picture I took from The Haunting of Hall Manor: The Return of Eleanor during Fright Fest at SFA (10-15-16) Side note: Any good picture of Hall Manor out there I can look at? I know in the Theme Park haunting section here, there's a very good overhead shot of Hall Manor . . . . and I know Eleanor's gravestone was allegedly moved when the Wild One was constructed?
  16. Wild One at SFA on 10-28-16 (at night in 48 degree weather)
  17. If Top Thrill Dragster had 2 trains running I would expect the wait time to be about 4 hours Luckily they always run 5 trains (unless they're absolutely dead and they run 4) and lines usually range from 30 to 90 minutes depending on what time of year / day of the week you're going. On super slow days the line can be shorter, during Halloweekends it can be longer. Add between 30-45 minutes to those wait times for the front row (which is where you should sit). These wait times don't reflect the inevitable frequent breakdowns. Asking people about the longest line they've waited in for Dragster is pointless because that'll usually be due to the ride going down multiple times when they were in line. During Dragster's opening year, 12-14 hour waits were completely normal since people would camp out along the fence playing board games / sleeping / finding other creative ways to waste their entire day hoping that the ride would eventually open. In many cases it never did. Thank you for pointing out about 5 trains . . . . I know TTD's cousin Kinga Ka can run 3 trains at once (assuming both loading platforms are used). And yeah, given the unique nature of Dragster, I'd figure breakdowns would be common. And how frequently do rollbacks occur? And I'm pretty sure that TTD can't be launched in wet/cold/windy weather?
  18. As someone who's never been to Cedar Point . . . let me ask this. What's the general wait time for Top Thrill Dragster? (assuming that they have 2 trains running) And what's the longest you've had to wait for it?
  19. For me . . . . the old rides I'd like to ride again are (in no particular order): Shockwave & Hurler - King's Dominion Two Face: The Flip Side - SFA Rolling Thunder & Great American Scream Machine - SFGAd
  20. I like it . . . but IMO, I would have liked to have seen Roar get the RMC treatment and/or Pengiun's Blizzard River get scrapped in favor of a 4D spin (I'm not all that impressed with Blizzard River and it doesn't run in colder weather)
  21. I went to Great Adventure this past summer (a 2 hour 45 minute drive for me from Columbia, MD). I was really impressed with Kingda Ka and Zumanjaro . . . . but in hindsight I've thought . . . why did they have to scrap Rolling Thunder? I thought it should've gotten the RMC treatment. And Batman & Robin: The Chiller had so much potential, just too bad it was a mechanical nightmare. I did go a couple of times with my parents when I was younger . . . . And I'll definitely be making another trip up there next year to see the Justice League 4D dark ride. And hopefully they'll refurbish the Old Country area (yes I know the Autobahn bumper cars is on the exact spot of the infamous Haunted Castle)
  22. Skull Mountain was unique, but as I recall it was a pain in the ass to maintain. And it was closed when the weather was too cold (post Labor Day)
  23. Well . . . . finally got around to registering for this site Anyhow, I finally got around to being a Gold Season Pass holder for Six Flags (my home park is Six Flags America, I live in Columbia, MD which is about a 35 mile trip). I went semi-frequently in my younger days, even more so in the Wild World era. Last year, I went once after not going for several years (the last time I had gone before last year was in '07 when Two Face: The Flip Side was still there [too bad it got scrapped]). Back to the point . . . I finally did Fright Fest a couple of times this year and of course, my favorite attraction is Hall Manor (you really can't get a good look at the Hall Manor house as your moving along the path, but if you can . . . . damn, it's nearly totally collapsed/unsafe. And with all the trees around it, you can't see it from the top of the Wild One anymore). From what I've read throughout this thread . . . yes I do agree SFA has it's issues . . . but still a fun place to visit.
