Wild Adventures Discussion Thread
storms555 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I never been here before. Heck i never been to Georgia before! However i love learning about the not so well known amusement parks. If it was for this site i wouldnt realize that certain amusement parks existed. This place kind of reminds me of a small off-brand Busch Gardens. Not saying that in a bad way by the way. I think thats whats cool about it. I think Cheetah and Viking Voyage looks especially fun. I never been on an SLC before so i cant say much about that. I been on a Boomerang before at Darien Lake back in 2005 though. Unlike many others here i actually enjoy the Boomerang coaster. Not saying its the best but still fun to me. -

Yea I dont get that either....When you look up amusement park on google imagines you dont get pics of off-brand Chuck E Cheeses with putt putt golf.....you get pics of tons of coasters flat rides and waterparks....FECs are fun in their own way but to me they arnt considered amusement parks...the only FECs i consider an amusement park would be the ones that have full sized rides in the back. Of course those places are a thin line in between FECs and real amusement parks. However normal FECs to me arnt amusement parks...I have this old book from 2003 that mentioned all the amusement parks in America and Canada and for some reason the author included many FECs that only had kiddie rides. One place only focused around horse back riding go-carts and trains....It was like some road side attraction in Kentucky... My mom mentioned any place that offers some sort of "amusement" is considered an amusement park....In that case likes consider all places that offer fun and entertainment an amusement park. Movie theaters are amusement parks. Zoos are amusement parks. Concerts are amusement parks. You local playground is an amusement park. The adult clubs downtown are amusement parks. See how silly that sounds? -
Energylandia Park Discussion Thread

People think this ride looks lame??? I think this ride looks epic and a lot of fun! I dont plan on traveling to Poland(I mean as much as id love to travel the world and go to every theme park of the world i dont have the money, lol) but its cool for the people in Europe to be able to have epic coasters of this category. -
I once seen someone spell Cedar Point "Cider" Point....is that an amusement park for drunks?? No line cutting teens or whiny little kids at this park! Must be 21 or older to enter.

Ok once again im sorry i opened another thread like this one. I tried looking it up but didnt see anything so thats why i made a new one...Anyways ill just post my crazy coaster ideas here instead then. -Pinfari made a hyper coaster or even giga coaster! Including its signature dinky track! -RMC do there own take on the launched Strata coaster but of course it was wooden and instead of a air time hill like KK has it had RMC inversions. -combination of the Ferris wheel with the coaster.....it would be a normal steel coaster track but instead of traditional coaster carts,it will be a big rolling wheel with gondolas like a normal Ferris wheel but be also secured to the track. -stand up wing coaster! and the cars flip as well I also thought of a futuristic one where the track is magnetic and they strap a magnetic plate to your back and it will follow the track but some how not be to strong so instead of clinging to the track you are hovering over and under the track. In a way you'd be like Superman!

storms555 replied to storms555's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yea sort of....but thats about rumors...this thread is more about making up stuff that comes to your mind and while people mentioned ideas for parks this is more just about thinking up random types of coasters that dont go to any particular park. -

Worst Coaster Ever?
storms555 replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That reminds me of when i was a little kid like 9 or 10 and lived in my childhood neighborhood,we took cardboard from a fridge box and flattened it out on my stairs. We got a plastic bob sled and would use it to slide down the cardboard slide. The bottom had tarp or something of that sort. Not as dangerous as Ed Edd n Eddy's coaster though lol but it sure did fall into the "ghetto roller coaster" category! lol. As a kid it was awesome though....it sure passed the time. As kids we were good at making our own carnival "rides" I had one of those Little Tikes climbing gyms from the 90s. http://www.thepeoplehistory.com/1990images/activitygym.jpg it was that. We would hang onto the climb grips and someone would tip the structure over with us holding on and we would go for a ride! Or they would put the toy on its side and lean forward and have the whole thing tip but i was never brave enough to do that one...lol Another example is one of their relatives built a big wooden box on wheels and would spin us in the garage with the lights off but i only remember riding it at Halloween parties. I do miss being a kid lol -

Can anyone think up the weirdest yet some what(maybe) realistic coasters? -For example Imagine if....Pinfari made a hyper coaster or even giga coaster! Including its signature dinky track! -Also Imagine if.....RMC did there own take on the launched Strata coaster but of course it was wooden and instead of a air time hill like KK has it had RMC inversions. -Also imagine if someone combined the Ferris wheel with the coaster.....it would be a normal steel coaster track but instead of traditional coaster carts,it will be a big rolling wheel with gondolas like a normal Ferris wheel but be also secured to the track. Im sure many of these ideas are made up on coaster video games but i dont really play to many video games(yea i know im boring) but still thought it would fun to think of some wacky or weird coasters as a thread topic. So who is with me whats your mad man coaster ideas?? -
While i admit im not gonna travel to a park just for a Til r Wirl(i can go on one of those at my local street fests),i really do want to check out that awesome looking drop tower they have!! Drop towers are my favorite common amusement park flat ride that doesnt cost extra money either(unlike rides like Sky Scrapers,Sky coasters, and Sling Slots which i always wanted to try but cost to much extra). Also i know now there will be an "adult" coaster there too. Also if i remember the snow ball was a lot of fun it blows most Tilts and Scrabblers out of the water. There is also the swinging ship which is another favorite flat carnival ride. So all the other rides would be like an added bonus. Although I DO prefer the big giant super thrilling coasters,a lot of the rides at Santa's seems pretty fun too.

Three closest parks near you
storms555 replied to mike541x's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm kind of jealous of many of peoples closest parks here...lol. The only major park i live a decent amount away from is Great America(still an awesome park though by the way). The other two i mentioned are just ok. but also i noticed people counted parks that were like 3 hours away from them too. So im just glad i have Great America as close as it is. -
Your guilty pleasure ride
storms555 replied to DanTheBooker's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Yea i agree those coasters seem really fun. When i think "guilty pleasure" rides on this site, the first that comes to mind are the rides that get a lot of hate, rides that are mostly forgotten or rides they are commonly past up for the much bigger and better rides. -

storms555 replied to mike541x's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
bump! The three closest to me is Great America,Santa Village Azooment Park, and Indiana Beach i guess. I would of said Mt Olympus but thats like 3 hours away where as Indiana Beach is like 2 hour away. If Kiddieland was still around it would of been the closest of them all! It would of been down the street from me actually but sadly id never got a chance to go there. When i moved in this area it was already closed down. Places like Navy Pier or Haunted Trails i dont really consider amusement parks even though they are pretty close too. -
I only been to this park once and it was when i was 9 back in the summer of 1999. I remember enjoying it a lot! However as an adult wonder if it would feel the same. Its good to know "thrill" rides are coming back to the park after it closed down all those years. Wonder if it would be worth it to go as an adult though. Honestly if anything it would be a fun trip to plan around my baby/toddler cousins. I mean just imagine going with friends when honestly we can just simply get a pass for Great America and go there as many times as we want after paying for the pass. I mean why go here when i can go to Great America??? but at the same time i have this strange curiosity to try this place out again one day. Its a weird and silly dilemma really.... It comes down to the simple question is it worth the money, miles, gas money, and time to go??

A trip to an amusement park is a much better antidepressant then actual antidepressant medicine! I guess in a way its another take on the "laughter is the best medicine". -
Launch VS Lift Hill?
storms555 replied to DoinItForTheFame's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It would be hard for me to choose as both are awesome in their own ways. I like traditional lift hill as they built up excitement for the ride and having the drop right after it is awesome. Launch hills are more thrilling though and i enjoy launch coasters. So in a way they both are awesome in their own ways. As long as they arnt dreadfully slow like the ones in Japan lol. Anyone who watches a lot of the TPR POVs will know many Japan lift hills are face pulling slow...lol -
Your first Arrow Dynamics coaster
storms555 replied to stashua123's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Mine would be Shockwave at Sf Great America. I actually do like Superman though i mean that one loop is awesome! However i wish they had room for both and never got rid of Shockwave. It was also my first coaster with inversions. -
