It's fun, but it is really short especially compared to how incredibly slow the queue moves. The queue can also be really muggy hot and smelly, I think the really long unpleasant waiting experience compared with a very short ride leaves people not feeling good about it sometimes. Yea thats why i wish to go to MM one day as they have some of the most unique and thrilling coasters out there. To bad im in Chicago though. CP was awesome though and had some AWESOME coasters! Still want to try MM one day oh how i wish airplane tickets were not so dang expensive! O.O I can afford a trip to an amusement park but not so much a full plane ticket lol.

When i said one flagship coaster i meant KD and Carowinds not so much GA as i know they have a few flagship coasters i heard. But yea i am sure both KD and Carowinds is awesome too. Those two are kind of like Kings Island im guessing and i been to KI before. That park was a lot of fun too:) I think however my next biggest "bucket list" parks would be MM and Great Adventure of course. I mean El Toro looks awesome!!!!!! Not to mention i heard a lot of good stuff about it too. What i dont get is why do people prefer that one terrain coaster to El Toro...it beat El Toro at number on spot! I seen a POV of that ride and honestly....it looks like it has no real drops just curved slightly slopped "drops"

thanks for the answers all,by the way:) A lot of interesting answers. It seems a lot of people do still prefer CP to MM. However I still would like to go one day hopefully. I want to go to SFGAdv one day too. I want to go on I-305 and Fury too however not sure id want to go all the way out to those places just for one flagship coaster in each of the parks. Sigh...sometimes i wish i had tons of money so i can travel around the country to go to all the awesome parks! lol.

For the longest time i dreamed of going to 3 parks:Cedar Point,Great Adventure(mostly for KK and El Toro),and of course Magic Mountain. I finally when to Cedar Point for the first time this summer! Was a blast! I know Cedar Point is Cedar Fair's flag ship amusement park and MM is SF's flagship park and has tons of coasters. I guess you can say MM is the "Cedar Point" of Six Flags parks. But yea id like to go here one day. Both Cedar Fair and Six Flags chains are known to have the best coasters so it would be cool to be at two of the best thrill ride parks in the country maybe even world! That being said which of the two has the most "omg that was the best ride ever!!!" coasters of the two parks? like i said CP was a blast and MM looks like it would be a blast too! Its like my next "bucket list" park lol.

Weird Roller Coaster Dreams
storms555 replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Most amusement park dreams i have are those "im there but end up not riding the rides for some weird reason" dreams or where i do finally got on a ride but it feel unreal or not even a coaster anymore. I also had dreams about passing up really awesome carnivals and amusement parks and not being able to go for some odd reason even though i wanted to go so bad! With a lot of these dreams the parks are most likely not real or i just dont remember what park it was. However this past September i went to Cedar Point for the first time,so i had coasters freshly on my mind. Sadly for some reason i came down with one of those weird week long stomach bugs. During this flu i had dreams that were even weirder then my usual dreams. One of the dream for some reason there was this lady and she was my time traveler guide. Think travel agent but for time traveling! She would show me different portals and would tell me about each one and where(and when) it leads to. Coasters being fresh on my mind still i picked the portal that lead to the 1950s amusement park. The portals where in weird settings too. The portal that i choice i had to go through a old school CRT computer monitor in some office for some reason. I go though the portal and the time travel agent physically disappears however i can still hear her as if she is talking to me through hidden blue tooth ear buds. When i appear in the 1950s timeline i automatically have 1950s attire. I seen these teens walking down the street and my guide tells me to go up to them and pretend i am new to the town, and ask them how i can get to the amusement park. I dont remember what the town was either. Anyways they were eager to help and they happen to be going there too,so that just let me follow them to the park. The whole time they were explain all the fun rides and games there was at the park. To me being from 2016 of course a lot of the rides seemed tame compare to todays thrill rides but to them it was like this amazing magical fairly tale land... I never told them i was a time traveler though and just asked like a normal everyday person who happen to be new to the area. Compare to todays teens and/or young adults they seemed so much more down to earth and laid back. They also seemed more impressed with the little things compare to people today. It was interesting to see. Anyways i dont want to go on for to long but i remember we took some detours and did some stops. They met up with other friends too etc. I remember walking up hills and over bridges to get to the park. We got there when it was dark.I also remember the park was on this inclined street hilly area. It also resembled an old school boardwalk park but dont remember if i see a beach or not. Sadly i think the dream ended before i got to go on my first ride though. Still the dream was pretty neat. -
an amusement park that replaces a really awesome fun coaster with a wacky worm or dragon wagon.

An indoor amusement park in a state that gets very long cold winters, gets rid of all its rides and turn it into a glorified Chuck E Cheese with lame rent-out "attractions" you see at a cheesy youth group picnic......and the only real carnival/amusement "ride" is a three lain Fun Slide. The only mechanical ride at all is a coin operated kiddie merry-go-round you can see in front of your local Wal-mart. Most of the other "attractions" there is where you have to get all hot and sweaty and isnt that all exciting at all.....yes i seen it happen before sadly to add insult to injury the wi-fi sucks and data connection is horrid too as its in the middle of nowhere.

about navy pier and the boats i wanted to go on that when my friend from overseas came to visit me. We went to Navy Pier and i asked her if she wanted to go on a boat ride of some sort but she didnt seem very interested.....she was kind of one of those "meh..." people who isnt really that interested in doing many things which is sad...we were gonna try for Great America too but she doesnt like coasters that go too high fast or upside down....instead she wanted to go on the Whizzer and East River Crawler....really?? Not going to Great America to go on super tame rides sorry. but yea for Navy Pier we just end up walking around and shopping. She didnt even want to go the Ferris Wheel!!! it was "to scary". but yea maybe next summer ill try for the speed boat ride. I always wanted to go on one of those. The ones on at Niagara Falls looks cool too.

I know i am late on this one but i would have to say Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas has awesome rides. Clifton Hill in Canada is pretty awesome too. That playhouse/funhouse museum looks awesome by the way wish i had a place like that by me. Reminds me of a cool edgy DZ Discovery Zone. Also i do live in Chicago so i could go to Navy Pier anytime and while its a neat place sometimes i wish they install thrill rides. Doesnt have to be a coaster but something like an adult sized drop tower and a Sky Scraper. A few rides over the water kind of like Indiana Beach. Something like that. I mean i doubt it will happen but its always nice to dream.
-
not sure if this will come of as a weird one but id have to say the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas. Yea there is only 3 mechanical rides but being on top of that tall tower is a very unique experience and the rides are a lot of fun! The sky diving thing i would of did if it wasnt so much extra money though :/ But the other rides were fun enough. I mean you are hanging off a tower on the rides! The drop tower is the middle is fun too. I wouldnt say its worth the visit alone(i mean unless you want to do that) but if you are ever in the area you should check it out.

Your guilty pleasure ride
storms555 replied to DanTheBooker's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
meh...i never got to appeal of that ride when i went on it,it was so disappointing. Yet it seems a lot of people like that ride. Some enough they got bent out of shape about it. I left a comment on youtube about how that ride is boring and someone was like you arnt a true coaster fan if you say that!!! It was funny honestly. Also im surprised someone with a pic of a giga coaster would like it so much:P lol Just like i dont get the appeal of Wizzer at Great America either.... -
for me its opposite as some people have some bizarre meanings for an amusement park/theme park. in my Best Park-Worst Park thread i made i mentioned how my least favorite park used to be a real amusement park with rides and all but some how took them all out because its a cheap resort and replaced it with stuff like a rock wall, bounce houses, rope course, kiddie trampoline bungee jump, small zip line, and a coin operated kiddie ride.....and only very few arcade games...and of course lame prizes that would make many chuck E Cheeses blush....yet in big bright letters and on the website of the resort its still called an Amusement Park! People on yelp and tripadvisor call it an amusement park too! im like have these people been to an actual amusement park? When you type in amusement park in google image search you get pics of roller coasters and other thrill rides and such....not a pic of romp-a-round playgrounds for tweenagers! this is rant thread after all and i can rant about that resort all day...its in Utica Il in the middle of nowhere....it has a water park too its main draw....but only has two water slides! and a small wave pool granted the pool packs a punch but its not like it runs like that all day...most of the time its normal calm pool and riding the same two slides not to mention all those stairs...it gets boring...my guess is its a place for families who cant afford trips to Great America Cedar Point or Wisconsin Dells....however their Enchanted Forest on said resort is NOT an amusement park! its an overprices playground full of snot nosed kids and cheap plastic prizes....

Favorite and least favorite amusement park
storms555 replied to storms555's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
SF Great Adventure??!! No i never been there but i want to go there on day...besides MM(which i want to go to one day too...) isnt it like the best SF park in the chain?? Like it has some of the best coasters....i mean El Toro and KK look awesome! I imagine Magic Mountain is the "Cedar Point" of the Six Flags chain and Great Adventure is like the "Kings Island" or maybe even another "Cedar Point" of the Six Flags chain. I guess if you are looking at records (Kingda Ka) and number of coasters... but my vote for best in the chain is with my home park, SF Great America. We have such a well-rounded collection of rides and coasters. Of course, I get that plenty of folks love Magic Mountain and Great Adventure. I used to love Magic Mountain... but you know... things change. Huge bonus points for fixing Revolution though!!! oh i see yea for me its about the rides but thats just me however Great America is my home park as well. Its a lot of fun there as well i love Ragin Bull and Goliath! Giant Drop is awesome too:) Batman is also intense and fun! and i love the loop on Superman feels like you are falling depending where you sit! American Eagle and viper is of course fun too:) X-flight is ok used to be a lot of fun at first but then after a while i seemed kind of tame. when it comes to wing coasters i prefer Gatekeeper at CP. However my friend loves that ride its her favorite in the park! My favorites is a tie between RB and Goliath of course. -

I havent been to Kings Island since 2004 but i would like go back since there been some new and great coasters built there since. Also i want to go on Fury and I305 one day as well but if it worth traveling all that way to both parks for just one flagship coaster? sometimes i wish i was loaded with money and i can travel like that...lol be awesome. Also i dont get why Magic Mountain or Great Adventure would get hate...like i said in another post isnt MM and GA like the "Cedar Points" of the Six Flags chain? -

lol i noticed Mt Olympus gets a lot of hate in the amusement park community. I only been there once and it was back in 2009 when it wasnt overly packed so maybe i went on a good day. Also the fact we didnt stay in one of those hotels...Why does the place get so much hate anyways? just wondering. It was nothing to rave about but it was still a fun little place. I sure can go on and on about Enchanted Forest in Utica Il though....which was suppose to be like a small Mt O but instead turned into a glorified Chuck E Cheese....actual Chuck E Cheese is actually more fun then EF in Utica....lol I seen old pics of people there on this site when it had the actual rides....to bad i couldn't experience it then... -
What's your favorite Flat ride?
storms555 replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That ride the guy posted above i never got to go on but its looks soooo awesome! A carnival i went to had one but sadly it was closed down:( Im sure if i got to ride it,it would join my list of favorite flat rides! anyways my favorite flat rides are: -Drop towers and launch towers! -giant swinging rides like the one at Cedar Point or the 4 seated one at My Olympus also the giant spinning disk rides like at CP and KI -rides like King Chaos at SF Great America Those are usually flats you mostly only see at amusement parks and/or big state fairs now ill list flats you'd see at standard local carnivals/fairs -Ring of Fire/Larson Loop -Invertor -power surge -zippers and rock-o-planes -swinging spinning disk rides -swinging pirate ship Sadly though i dont see many zippers rock-o-planes or Loops anymore though.. Oh and i forgot one specific mention is that ride that goes off the edge of the Stratosphere tower is Las Vegas. I dont remember the name of it but it goes off a tilting track. Thats like a hybrid between a flat and a coaster:P In all honest i love all flats that drop you, shoot you up,flip you, make you go upside down,or swinging you high up! standard going in circles spin and spews are fun and all but not nearly as thrilling as the thrill flats. -
This doesn't surprise me one bit. The only downside to the Funplex is the sketchy clientele that place gets. I looked that place up. It looks neat. I wish I had a family fun center like that by me. Real rides and waterslides! The ones by me have just have mainly dumb kiddie rides...then again i go to family fun centers for the arcade games but real rides and waterslides would be a VERY awesome added bonus! I wish Old Chicago didnt close before i was born....when Great America closes down and the fairs/carnivals are gone it would be awesome to get your ride fix during the winter!

i made a most embarrassing amusement park moment thread not reallizing there was this one sorry about that anyways ill just copy and paste my post i made here. For me it was back in the summer of 2004 when i was at Indiana Beach for a girl scout trip. We decided to go on the bumper boats. Despite being 14,this was the first time i went on bumper boats. Before even getting on the boats i couldnt help but stop worrying if the boats will automatically go back to the "dock" or will we have to drive them there ourselves. See I sadly didnt know how to steer them! Instead of actual steering wheels it was those awkward handles. During our cycle i was pretty much getting little to nowhere, barely moving, and just spinning in circles the whole time. I just played it off as just dont go that fast and far in the first place. When it was time to drive the boats back i realized my worst "nightmare" was true i had to drive it back myself and i was in the middle of the bumper boat pool. So i try to head back but instead of going forward it mostly....just spun....and spun...and spun...it would finally move a little more forward then start a-spinning again and still not close enough to the dock. I started panicing of course. I was almost about to just paddle with my arms...and the ride OP was clearly getting impatient too. She just eventually helped reel me in a little bit and i finally got back to the dock After all of that the whole groups of people waiting in line started to clap for me in unison which came off as very condescending....i never felt so embarrassed in my life! after i got off the ride i ran off as quick as possible to just get away from that area. Hours later while me and a friend were walking towards the Cornball Express these two guys, two who were in that bumper boat line, again clapped for me and had the biggest smirks on their face...after that i never wanted to ride bumper boats again. Still to this day i dont plan on riding them anytime soon...that put me off them:P Thats the only ride im "scared" to go on...not because the super tame ride is even remotely scary but because of the embarrassment of not being able to operate a simple bumper boat

i dont have an rants exactly but i will list things that annoy me. -people who take unnecessary long to do what ever they are doing such as using the bathroom, backing up from a parking spot, not going when a light says go,getting their stuff rang up at the store, people getting ready to leave the house etc -when the track pad on my laptop registers right clicks instead of left clicks and i cant click on anything until i get ride of that stupid right click menu! it doesnt help my track pad doesnt have physical buttons! its a flat black panel...and i dont always have my mouse with me. My laptop is touch screen however its not always 100% accurate especially with my stubby fingers. - the fact that computers arnt advanced enough yet to read or mind or/and patterns instead of always reminding you how bad your spelling is and underlining every other five words with that read line..i know phones do that but not normal computers. and if you just ignore said misspellings people will judge you for it sadly -people telling you have to change for them or others -when a computer doesnt do what you want it to do in general -when someone double dips while cooking food for others or eating chips and dip and also when people put their fingers in their mouths then touch everything spreading their germs -when a place calls itself an amusement park when its not. yes i seen that before and the only rides is bumper boats,go-carts,and a Miner Mike...you can see bumper boats and go-carts at any mini golf place and Miner Mike is such a baby ride... -when vegetarians and vegans want to change the way meat eaters live their lives... -soccer moms who want to bubble wrap everything and make the world so safe it gets soft and boring -amusement parks closing down and being replaced by boring stuff like condos and Costcos -an area house or place that has no wi-fi or good 4g coverage -people who decide showering is not all important making our noses suffer or smelling up our homes... and thats about it for now...yea i know its a lot of stuff:P

felt like posting pics! because why not! Favorite park(Cedar Point) vs least favorite(Enchanted Forest at Utica Il) most are saying umm thatss not an amusement park....but you got to remember before i got to go to that "park" it had REAL rides....now its just the glorified Chuck E Cheese crap! never got a chance to ride the rides except one a mini Moses drop but the second year even that was gone! the only "true" amusement park/carnival ride is one of those big slides with the sacks :/ how sad....you guys be the judge as true theme park enthusiasts which place looks super super fun! and which place looks laaaaaaaaammmee! -
Most Embarrassing Amusement Park Moment

also sorry for double posting dont know how that happened sorry :/ didnt notice i did that -
I thought this would be a fun and unique one,but what was one of your most embarrassing moments or experiences you had while at an amusement park? That is if anyone has anything to share.
