  1. To guarantee the division, the Padres need to split the series with the Giants. Probably very possible, but if the Giants take 3 of 4, the Padres magic number is still 2, which is very doable I think. If the Giants sweep, I think they'll win the division.
  2. Successful eh? I'll admit I'm a Giants fan and I'm not losing faith, but even if the Padres stay in first place...they aren't successful.
  3. We did know what is is. That's why the thread was called "missle test" --Robb Well, I meant all the other people stuck in traffic with you. Haha. Always wanted to see one of these. Saw a space shuttle landing at Edwards, but that's it.
  4. Yeah, they're just missile tests. They're very interesting to see, no harm in anything. You'd think that So. Cal would know about these already, you get a few of them a year I'd say.
  5. Actually, the height restrictions are different for different areas. I believe that near the sky tower it's 225 but back towards Drop Zone, it's smaller since it's nearer to the airport. Drop Zone is 5 feet below the height restriction, so if anyone knows that that would be the height restriction at that point. I wouldn't mind them tearing down the Grizzly and building a coaster kind of based on the layout, but better. You know, a double out and backer would be great, just have a few more drops and make it more like a coaster than an earthquake. Or just keep it, make it worse, and put up a chiropractor stand outside of the exit. About the hyper, they could easily demolish the IMAX building since it's in disuse and put the station there and then all they'd need is a good 15 feet width down the side of the park then have a turnaround somewhere. Demon's got space for supports and it could be built through even with all it's slim supports if needed. Would love to see a drop through the 2nd corkscrew and through the old train tunnel, would be a great part of any ride.
  6. Amazing win by the Giants tonight. Were down 2-1 with 2 out in the 9th and Moises Alou hit a 3 run home run after Barry Bonds was walked. Then Armando Benitez walked the bases loaded and with 2 outs, Todd Linden breaks in on a ball that is at the warning track, runs back and makes a diving catch to win the game. Unbelieveable.
  7. Bad thing is.....at most 15 mpg. NEVER DRIVE IT!
  8. I'd like the Tear down Grizzly idea, but not the tear down demon idea. Demon's awesome, can't get rid of that. It's not like it's really compact, it would be easy enough to design around it. Could get a new woodie, but wouldn't mind them just getting a steel. Especially when there's the Giant Dipper over the hill.
  9. What a coinkidink, the best one I've been to was last night. 2005 Kihncert. Opening band: The Greg Kihn Band. Played for about 30 - 40 mins. Songs I remember, Another Girl Another Planet, Remember, Jeopardy, The Breakup Song, Bulevard of Broken Dreams. Most memorable moment: "We're going to now play a medly of our hit" (Their only hit was Jeopardy). 2nd band: George Thorogood and the Destroyers. Played for about 60 - 75 minutes. Songs I remember (or basically knew, I don't know many of his), I Drink Alone, One Bourbon One Scotch One Beer, Move it On Over, Bad to the Bone, Who do you Love. Most memorable moment: "You Mother Humpers are a F__king great crowd!" (This is advertised as a family event as well, mind you, we walked by an air pad jumper thingy on our way to the seats.) Headliner: Steve Miller Band. Played for about 100 - 120 minutes. Songs I remember (and again, knew), Jet Airliner, Fly Like An Eagle, Wild Mountain Honey, Jungle Love, Swingtown, the Joker, Crossroads (by clapton), basically all the hits and a lot more. Most memorable moment: many. When George Thorogood came on to duo with him and said, "This is my big f__king chance mother humpers." When Joe Satriani came out and duoed with him. They played just a blues riff and it somehow turned into Crossroads. Just jamming and it came out. Some amazing guitar work by Satriani too. And, the 15 minute long version of Fly Like An Eagle, at least 15 minutes. It just went on and on and on, great song. Yup, was a great concert, to say the least. Definetly going to Kihncert 2006.
  10. GIANTS ARE GOING ALL THE...... Nevermind....
  11. The BONDS Factor is back, so the Giants are going to overtake the West in 2 games.
  12. What they need for enthusiasts: A roller coaster. What they need for the general public: Family Attractions What they will get: A Parade?

    Lenses

Well, to have interchangeable lenses, most likely it'll be an SLR camera. 35 mm film or the expensive digital models with manual focus, shutter speed, and apeture level. The 35 mm film models can run as low as $150 for a camera, but then lenses can be expensive. Go down to a local camera store to check them out.
  14. Happiness is a warm gun. Bang Bang Shoot Shoot. When I hold you in my arm And I feel my finger on your trigger I know, nobody can do me no harm Because Happiness Is a warm gun momma.
  15. Recently, Hawaii passed a law limiting the price of gas. While it was a high limit, because gas is naturally higher there (shipping), California is also thinking of puting such a law through congress, but doubt it's going to go through. The gas here is over 25% taxes which is where the state gets all it's money. And money's something we dont' have much of anymore.
  16. http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&ncid=1756&e=1&u=/050901/480/gagb10409010035 Doesn't look so strange after seeing some of these posts. Gas here on a public site is averaging 2.962. People go on there and post the prices that they see. and it's been going up quickly since a few days ago, and It'll keep on going up I know. Saw prices at 3.09 this afternoon where I passed at 2.85 this morning.
  17. 1280 x 800 on my new laptop, used 1024 x 768 on my old PC. If this is about a design of the forums, I don't really mind having black areas like there are currently.
  18. Hmm....it's gone...so..... I HATE FELIPE ALOU!
  19. Hmmm....still in High Sierra wilderness mode....saw it and first thought of the flower.
  20. I've heard Extra Innings can only carry one of the team's feeds, so if you only like your announces (like Krukow and Kuiper of the Giants) then it's not so great. About the west, I just like to think we're beating up on eachother so much that we can't get above .500 haha. And I want to hear a non-Giants fan's opinion on this, how different do you think the season would have been with Bonds?
  21. The Giants story is a sad sad story, let me recount it for you....... To open the season, we were going to have proven leadoff man Ray Durham get on base. Then, our new short stop Omar Vizquel to be able to advance him to second at the least or be able to get another base hit. J.T. Snow would have been able to get a power hit or anoter single. Then the big boy, Barry Bonds was up to be walked, but this year we had protection (kinda). Moises Alou would come up and drive in Barry or whoever. Behind him we'd have our other coner infielder, Edgardo Alfonzo to do more damage. With Marquis Grissom coming off some of his best seasons in a while and then light hitting catcher Mike Matheny to round out the top 8, this was going to be a year. Let's see what happened.... Durham - Batting 5th or 6th because we have no power without him. He's also been hurt the whole year. Vizquel - Still batting 1st or 2nd. Snow - Currently half platooned at first with Lance Niekro, has only 2 home runs on the year. Bonds - Out. Alou - Been having a good season until he killed his legs. Alfonzo - Only 2 home runs on the year..... Grissom - Just recently released after clearing waivers. Matheny - One of the bright spots, carreer highs in many categories. Now....the story of our starting rotation. We were going to have a Cy Young pitcher as our ace, a crafty proven lefty as our #2, a journeyman who's found his stuff as our #3, a young pitcher who went 6-0 to start out his career, and another young pitcher who's had mediocre success in the majors. Let's review what happened there..... Schmidt - Lost his fastball early in the year and had to learn how to pitch, recently he's got everything going again. Rueter - Started out the year ok but got progressively less and less effective, until we just released him. Tomko - Has had great stuff until last year where he put stuff together very nicely. Hasn't done it this year. Lowry - Started out the season ok, dropped back to bad, and has recently gotten very good. Williams - Had good years the last few years, but this year just couldn't put it together. Traded to the cubs with Aardsma, a AAA big leagues ready reliever for Hawkins. Other starters we have used......Jeff Fassero, Brian Cooper, Brad Hennessey, and Kevin Correia. Has been quite a dissapointing year. And yet, we're still within striking distance of the West. We've been able to stay about 5-8 games back this whole time, giving us false hopes now and then. Bah....this year sucks.
  22. I'm never eating McDonalds again. Of course, that's because I read Fast Food Nation. Now I understand that Fast Food Nation and Supersize Me, and even this article are extremes of their own category, but after reading Fast Food Nation, seeing Supersize me, and thinking about it I decided to never eat there again. Lasted a while, ate there a few weeks ago, but before that I hadn't eaten there since Finding Nemo came out and we went to get the toys hahahaha. I think that it shouldn't be I'm not eating McDonalds after seeing Supersize me, I think that it should be I'm not eating McDonalds after seeing Supersize me, reading this article, and thinking about whether I want to or not.
  23. Actually, if PGA wanted to they could install it right back in no problem. All the footers were about 6+ feet above the cement below and they're still there so the supports would just go right back on.
  24. Never was on Demon Drop, but rode the Edge and loved it. Always wanted to ride another one, I know SFMM had one and so did CP. Signed.
  25. I'd prefer, PGA. Top Gun is a coaster you can't miss, Medusa in my opinion you can. And Medusa is really the only stand out coaster to me. Top Gun is a better Kong. Roar I thought was boring, better than Grizzly but still. PGA's got Top Gun, Demon (people don't give it the full appriciation), Vortex (just put your head forward), and some fun water rides. And, if I were you, I'd hit PGA until you're tired then head over to SCBB. Just a 40 min drive from PGA and you get to ride the Giant Dipper, which I now think is the ride not to miss in Nor Cal.
