  1. Not putting in my opinion on whether it's a coaster or not (it'll surely be counted as one by the park) but the Whizzer @ SFGAm and formerly at PGA were powered in the cars. The cars had a cog that would move them up the spiral lift.
  2. OK so from Fresno take Hyway 41 north into Yosemite. Seriously at least one time during your stay. As for the Parks, really all you'll get is probably SCBB, or if you really want to go to SFMW then I guess you can. PGA won't be open most likely, although Bonfonte Gardens may be open, I'm not sure. SCBB is worth the trip though, see the coast, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, and ride the Dipper.
  3. Artest said he wanted to be traded, got a trade worked out, and then said he didn't want to play for the Kings. So the Kings backed out. Wow.....That's what's wrong with basketball.
  4. GILMORE GIRLS VS WWE I can't wait.
  5. Sounds like a fun day, although I always thought the black train didn't fit in on the Dipper. I always liked the Yellow train. And come on, that first fan turn isn't the one that gets you. It's the last one, below that one....Ugh....can remember getting thrown into that divider, I only sit on the right side now.
  6. I refuse to drive that road with my friend now. If anyone has driven that road lately, after the summit restaraunts and the "Casa de 17" place there is an S-Turn that has a speed sign on it saying like 45 mph turn and then displays your speed. My friend has got his speed at 80 on that sign.
  7. Yup that's a bad road, 17. Someone mentioned Pacheco Pass, 152. 17's a much worse road than 152 in my opinion. But it's still fun to drive. And it's just a hop skip and a jump to it from my house so I got my beach transport.
  8. Yeah It'll go somewhere. I pray that it won't be used for parts by Six Flags. Maybe PGA will buy it and put it in......Yeah right.
  9. --Your 2005 year in review: Really boring. 10. I've joined, as WalrusMan139 what else? next week you're going to have some weird results. EDIT: And if you're a part of it, you can get my sig. Pretty easy, just play around with it a bit until you get it how you want.
  11. Look, Vekomas aren't rough. It's not a proven fact, but how can some Vekomas be smooth and some be rough? Some of the older Vekomas are still smooth while newer installations are rough as they can be. All roughness is caused by either a. Bad Transitions, which can be found on any and all types of coasters, or b. Bad Maintenence, which can be found at any negligent park.
  12. When were the grades any different? I've always just known the 60/70/80/90 scale. I've also seen D as 50 - 65 and C from 65 - 70 though, just as a teacher's preferance.
  13. YES! SNOW! Can't wait for next week's snowboarding trip now. Yup the worst is over now, but you'll probably be getting higher or staying just as high for a day or so because of all the runnoff.
  14. Yeah my mom was coming home on.....Saturday and said I-5 was pretty flooded. Was raining pretty good here this morning so there's probably some more coming up your way and then you've got the runnoff to deal with, so hang tight there.
  15. Feliz is the true "Caribean hack slapper." He'll get about 10 - 15 walks a year and about 100 strike outs a year. Hitting .260 with a .280 OBP doesn't cut it. He only will hit 20 - 25 home runs each year.
  16. crispy, the Giants have 2 starters (Feliz and Niekro) that will total about 25 walks this season. That's the part I hate about the line-up. Any possibility you'd want a Hinske for Feliz deal 307? He can play 1st, SS, 3rd, and left, man that's a quality utility man there! What about he doesn't walk? Did I say that? In all seriousness I think if the giants get 110-120+ games from both Bonds and Alou they're a lock for the west. The division is still going to be weak no matter what any of the teams do. This is the last chance for the Giants for a few years. After Bonds leaves in 2006 we can finally start having a team instead of Bonds and the little people. But it would be great to finally get Bonds a ring. He's the greatest athelete ever to not have won a title in his sport. We're gonna be Colorado for 2007 and a few years after that.
  17. And onto aquisitions, Jose Vizquaino was signed by the Giants, so they've got their backup infielder, now they just need the backup catcher and a #4/5 starter so they can have a revolving door of Cain/Hennessey/Correia/Cooper/InsertNameHere of 5th starters. And some power might be nice still. As I see it.... SS Vizquel CF Winn 3B Feliz LF Bonds RF Alou 2B Durham 1B Niekro/Sweeny C Matheny 1. Schmidt 2. Morris 3. Lowry 4. Cain 5. Hennessey Would look a lot better with another guy in the #4 and 5 spots and another guy at first but what else can we do really. I've heard rumors of a Mike Lowell for Finley deal to shore up Boston's outfield hole left by Damon. Maybe we could get Matt Clement included in that deal, the Sox have been rumored to not like him and would be willing to trade him. Wouldn't mind it, take on Lowell who can play first and we've only got one person of the Felikro Wiffathon playing.
  18. Bonds really isn't that bad of a guy. I've never really heard of him being all that mean. The only thing I remember is the Kent/Bonds thing really.
  19. The Woohoo of the Finley trade is that Alfonzo is no longer here! He hit 2 (TWO!) home runs last year. Even if Finley had a bad season last season, Alfonzo has had 3 straight bad seasons. This also makes us only have to put up with 1 of the Lindellitmeier trio of underachievers. I still would like a solid 4/5 starter. Need a backup catcher, Haad/Knoedler/Alfonso won't cut it; Middle infielder, Chavez won't cut it; and a true first basemen, a Niekro/Sweeny platoon WILL NOT CUT IT SABEAN!
  20. Our top story tonight.... NASA sends probe to Uranus, people everywhere giggle.
  21. On all Arrows, the back is the only place to ride. Airtime city and the corkscrews are wonderful in the back, seeing the world rotate around the train.
  22. Last Concert I saw was the Kihncert 2005. Greg Kihn Band, George Thorogood, and the Steve Miller Band. Great concert. George Thorogood did a few songs with Steve Miller, that was an amazing set right there. Then after a few songs Joe Satriani came out and jammed. Heaven. And can you believe....$10 for all of that with parking included? Can't wait until next years Kihncert that's for sure.
  23. Well, on the coasters I've been on, all I can say are these: Top Gun @ PGA - Ride on the left, closer to the water on the ending helix. Giant Dipper @ SCBB - Ride on the right, get thrown into the padded side of the car instead of the unpadded seat divider. Hurricane @ SCBB - Ride on the right, get a little pop of air when going on "The Turn."
