  1. I think Donna Frye is already smoking up a storm about this rumour.
  2. ^I will have to agree with that I'm a really big fan of Cheesecake Factory's food.
  3. yeah, I've been freakin exhausted cause of work and life in general so the captions were sadly the biggest thing to suffer but hey, I got it done and that's all that matters lol.
  4. Couple of things, the toll for the Causeway is already added to the $10 parking fee, so you don't have to worry about it, as already mentioned. In addition to the Meijer already mentioned, there's also an ALDI in the area that has really cheap food, and they have a Super Walmart and a regular Target in the area. Depending on if you literally do everything the park offers, I'd say 3 days will be enough for the park itself (and even Soak City) if you don't rush at all. When I was still working there, I had a friend who literally tried to ride every ride an adult could ride in one Saturday. The great thing is he actually succeeded a couple of times on a few different Saturdays, a couple of times he was only off by a few rides. Soak City is decent, it's not amazing and you can find better slides elsewhere, but if you have an extra half day I think it's worth to go if you don't go to Castaway bay or Kalahari (both of which are indoor water parks that offer day passes). It sounds like they changed the Special Access Pass from when I worked there, but it won't save you any time on waiting. If you have more then two in your party, you and another person can wait outside of the ride while the rest of your party must go through the regular line and you and that other person can meet up with them when it's time for all of you to board. (This may have changed as well but) If there are only two of you, you have to visit the attractions entrance to gain a boarding time based on the queues current wait time. When the boarding time comes up, you may then enter the rides Special Access point (usually the exit of the ride) and get on the ride. Again, the policy has changed since I worked there and what I wrote above is based on the Policy from when I worked there and what is written in the Rider Safety Guide for 2008, which you can download the PDF from the link RedB gave in his post.
  5. Part 3 the End Expedition Everest.wmv Video of my ride on Expedition Cloverfield. Sometimes, I even annoy myself lol. I was pretty damn drunk by this point so this is kinda what it looked like at the time too lol. See!? I think there were like 10 of us in the whole audience. The Comedy Warehouse set Adventure's club, I'm sure if we had time we would have stayed and wtached one of the little shows. Elissa Bingo prize put to good use (I lost the connectors for the glow bracelets so I used them in my shirt's button holes) My friend also randomly had a Buzz Lightyear umberella in her car. Switching to some of the few pics I have from Downtown Disney and PI, This is what I felt like the whole time. Random pretty plant on the way to the ride. Hello again Forbidden Mountain These guys played us out, but not before heading over to EE again for a couple more rides. Got my bug eyes and I'm still soaked! One of the many reasons why I love Disney. seriously I was really impressed with how many different animals they got on there. hmmm some strange growths all over getting closer to the massive weenie I like taking people who have never experienced this before on it, it's great feeling them jump and hearing them scream next to me (also, my favorite part is when the kids start crying when hopper takes over lol) best vomiting crocodile rock sculpture ever. oh, there's Disney! ooo two at once, I don't do that often. YAY masks! F'ing soaked. Good thing it started raining about this time. Detail in the building Load We'll see about that It's just so pretty Snakes, why'd it have to be snakes? hello kitty? The zebra is very well camouflaged against the grass. You'll be fine as long as the gazelle don't stampeede toward you The termites are happy to see you These guys are always Horny *rimshot* Vultures? I don't even remember. Overexposed Birds YAY! Don't worry, the natives tell me that they are only dangerous when they wiggle their ears and blow bubbles.... A HA I got you now! hey come back I only wanna be your friend! YAY Oakpi! The people behind the whole ride's design are geniuses Thanks for the info
  6. Part 2 Sit back and enjoy the ride Our next adventure awaits Something only Disney could do so well. simply amazing Tree of Life Mmmm White Rice and Alcohol We ended up sitiing right behind that statue hi How are you welcome to my Restaruant Like this guy They have a few things to look at while waiting You can ring my bell Yak and Yeti was pretty good really it is Come on up and play, it's fine There's some lol where are all the birds? Disney's Bench: The Adventure amazing job with the detail and theming throughout. Somone has a flag fetish It was this section of the trail that made me realize Animal Kingdom was the winner Animal Or not I could see this as a quiet plce to reflect Gorgeous dahling which were beautiful and tragic I loved all the murals The lady or the Tiger? AKA you're the one fenced in Where's Roy? just hanging out nice crib wasn't actually expecting that lol. hmmm wonder what's in there. O RLY? ugh that last caption sucked. to help you light the way 'sup Bats and Tigers and Birds oh my!
  7. Last update for Florida!! Animal Kingdom turned out to be my favorite park at Disneyworld, and I know if they can get a few more rides in it would really round out the park. I really enjoyed my day and I felt as if the whole day I spent there wasn't wasted or boring looking for things to do as I slightly feared. The day started with the hike back to Expedition Everest. I wasn't really looking forward to riding this ride as it just seemed pretty meh, but I was pleasantly surprised with how fun it was. I still think they should put the actual yeti animatronic in the first cave scene, but I'm glad I got o experience A mode (the animatronic was fully working as opposed to B mode where the arm just moves or C mode where they just use strobes as the AA doesn't move at all) Next up was Dinosnore... er... Dinosaur. I think the best part was when a cast member (management?) use a stuffed Carnotaurus to scare a group of girls walking by on the opposite side of a shelf. I can't believe this is a "clone" of the Indiana Jones rides. Don't get me wrong, I had fun on the thing, but it felt like I was back at Isla Magica riding Quetzal. The overall quality of the ride (aka darkness: the ride) was pretty poor, although a few of the Dino's were just freakin' cool, they couldn't save the ride. Then it was over to the crappiest theming I've ever seen at a Disney park. I seriously hated the parking lot Carnival theme more then anything at DCA (the only thing is there mouse's are better themed and that's just sad lol) Primeval Whirl was fun, but I liked it more in a box as Exterminator at Kennywood lol. After walking around a bit, a showing of Finding Nemo - The Musical was showing so I had to go watch and I loved it! I loved it enough to actually be a dork and buy the soundtrack to listen to on the flight home. this would seriously be a great replacement for Aladdin in DCA and they already have some of the puppets in the Pixar Play Parade. After the show we headed over to the Maharajah Jungle Trek and this is where I actually fell in love with the park. The animal exhibits were masterfully crafted and taken to the quality that usually only Disney can provide. I think I would have had a great time just walking around the "ruins" even if the animals were not present. All that walking meant that we were starving by the time our reservations at Yak and Yeti were up for lunch. The place was decent, it's your typical chinese restaruant (not even with a real Disney or culinary twist) with good food, but the inside of the building is what the true highlight of the place was. The dining room (and even the waiting room) was filled with Asian inspired statues that seemed just out there without fencing or gates or even glass. While waiting for a friend to come out of the restroom, the rest of the group were talking to the greeter for Kilimanjaro Safaris. Turns out they were all from the same state so the greeter gave us fastpasses which saved us a TON of time off the line. the ride was great and The way Disney and the park's planners made the ride work was amazing in being able to actually see all the animals. A quick drenching on Kali River Rapids, which was no where near as good as a few of the other rapids rides I've recently been on, but it was still fun. Even if I was the one who ended up at the bottom of the drop... Anyway, freshly soaked, we headed over to Expedition Everest again for a few more rides. by this point it started to rain so we decided to head over and watch Festival of the Lion King and were entertained for the show. Walking out of the park we decided to do It's Tough to be a Bug (The hornet's got them good! lol) and headed back to the Hotel. I was meeting the other Orlando friends at Downtown Disney and contemplating heading to Pleasure Island as one of the friends had free passes and it was Thursday. Unfortunately it was steadily pouring down rain now so I went shopping for the family's souvenirs. I decided to say "screw it" and go to PI since I had to be up at like 3AM to catch the bus to the airport. We hit up the Adventure's Club, but didn't stay long then headed over to 8trax to watch the old people dance funny and Mannequins to watch the hot guys. We also caught a showing of the Comedy Warehouse, but there were only like 10 of us in the audience which made for much hilarity as we all pretty much participated. Of course it was raining still so I didn't take out my camera for much of the PI portion of the night. I ended up oversleeping for a bit and missed my initial bus, but got to the airport in plenty of time and got home without much fanfare. And with this update, that brings the end to My Florida trip and probably the biggest updates of my year. I'll probably be adding a few TRs here and there, but nothing as "consistent" as these. Thanks for reading and have a good night. lol I've been in that guy's shoes and I bet you he's thinking "some please kill me now before I have to put on this damn shirt again!" ooo almost there should be fun right? Fail... Sadly better themed then Mulholland Madness They just watched Inidana Jones 4 I'mma scray Dino RAWR! I have this itch behind my ear that I juuuust can't reach So many things wrong in this picture. Just stop trying Carl. RWAR! did it work are you scared? yes, yes it is At least there's something decent to look at in this picture oh no... Opposite view of the lake See? they lead to Singing fish. I loved the yeti prints in the ground. When good Yeti's go bad on Fox. But what ever they offer you, thought they slope in the trough for you, with whatever they offer you don';t feed the balls! Mmmmm theming Yeti hungry *chomp* *chomp* *chomp* I loved the flags all over the place. I'm totally obsessed with tribal-like masks Don't be manhandled by the yeti. Unless your into that sort of thing. My favorite part of the queue, the Musemum part. Monkey shrine! don't anger the Statue... Most of that wait was walking through the amazing queue YAY! (I'm so out of captions...) I love the theming in this park, well, most of it... Looking back Artsy and my current desktop lol Monkey Island? The Monkey enclosure oooo it's so fake but real. SQUEEEEEE! I love they're taking the educational route with the park Later my scary friend WEENIE! biiiirduh! oooo I can't see anything of the park. YAY! Luckily they didn't go here. but seriously,I have a confession. I hire the most adorable girls to be in my pictures for the "awww" factor Remember that school group? They should change that. My Ghey Side is screaming for joy right now. I love this Fountain. Seriously.
  8. Thanks guys, I should have the last Florida update up tomorrow! It's of Animal Kingdom and it's going to be a HUGE update.
  9. We were told at both the DVD party and at WCB smoothing out the ride has never been a goal with the new trains at all. The main and only goal (so we were told) was to make the trains much more reliable by making them lighter and constructing them in a completely different (and much more expensive) way. If it came out smoother then that was a side effect of making more reliable trains, not a goal set by the team. Tim Burkhart has said many things that are wrong and has lied to us before. I wouldn't say he's stupid either, but I think he will say what ever he thinks he needs to say to answer a question to the person's (AKA PR heaven). Who knows though, maybe the ride he did take was indeed smoother then Scream. I think Robb's trying to say the ride isn't smooth, but it's not as bad as it had been a few years ago. X was running pretty good right before it went down (subject to opinion of course, but I agree) to be transformed and he's saying the trains are at that level, not smooth but not horrible. I could be really wrong though, but I hope to find that out for myself within the next few weeks.
  10. I'm also going to have to disagree with you Swimace. It may seem like just one issue to you, but it's not only gay marriage that a large number of gay people disagree with the Republican party. Also in the way you phrased your post, it made it seem as if all gay people were strictly Democrat or will always vote for the one candidate that says "gays are A-OK *wink*." While I do agree some do, most of my friends will vote for the person who most states their political views most similar to their own regardless of political orientation. I personally do this as well as I think it's important to vote for the least scummy politician, then to just simply vote on your party lol. I will admit that the issue does make a huge factor in who i will choose to vote for in any election or any position, but it's not the only thing that has me voting more Democrat then Republican. I definitely agree with QuakerOaties with people (gay and straight alike) wanting a better education for the younger generations regardless of if they have children or not. And just because they're gay doesn't mean they won't or don't already have children that could benefit from reform to the educational system. I think I'll refrain from mentioning more issues as it is going off topic. One more thing though, there is a actually fairly large organization of gay and lesbian Republicans known as the Log Cabin Republicans that hold more Republican views while still upholding the rallies and cries for gay and lesbian rights. They are present in all 50 states and I'm pretty sure a few of them would take offense to you initial post on the political subject. I know that wasn't your intention, nor am I actually offended (or a Republican for that matter lol) but you may want to be careful how you address a large group of people (especially one as all encompassing as homosexuals) and make some pretty broad generalizations.
  11. I saw this last night at a midnight showing (they had 8 screens showing it and most of them were full!) I'll give it a 7/10, as a standalone movie it was a fun movie, as an Inidana Jones adventure, it just doesn't hold up to the other films. The last act was pretty weird and just kinda took me out of the moive; also, the whole swinging with the monkey's part, OH MY FREAKING GODS that was just bad. I would recommend this as a matinee or an early bird showing if your local theater does that kind of deal, if not just waiting for the DVD will suffice.
  12. Damn I suck, I voted for Maurer Sohne then realized I have not been on a Gerstluar spinner yet, oops. BUT I doubt any of them could really beat Winjas for me, that ride is just plain amazing!
  13. Funny I was there they day before it turned 80 LAST YEAR. man that ride is pretty brutal, give me a good GCI anyday over that thing!
  14. Here are the rest of the pictures from magic Kingdom, Stay tuned for Animal kingdom pics and (eventually) Six Flags Magic Mountain pics! One last pic, *BARF* Not bad without a tripod (I did use my phone as with the Indy pics from Page 2 though) Electric Palm Tree of the Future! This doesn't look to bad from this side. uh yeah, that could have been done a lot better. YAY People mover! I love how grumpy the lady looks. Pleakley is a DVC member, are you? (not bad for taking this pic myself...) It was decent, I could have done without the chilidog scent, but the animatronic Project626 and those gun arms were damn amazing to see in person. Nexus of Suck? I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes, I saw the sign. No ones gonna drag you up. To get into the light where you belong. Dude, are they running around naked ecept for their gloves? Tomorrowland! I finally made it to being Queen... er... King! The backside of Awesome hmmm I don't think I like the cover for the teacups, another ride I missed riding though. It doesn't look to bad from this side. Nice little path in between the two, I think we did Space Mountain after Mickey's Toontown Fair. Me and the main man... er... Mouse! I would HATE to be a parent if this was full Like in California, there's plenty to look at going through Mickey's House The Barnstormer was a fun little vekoma Roller skater. Hi Lou! Pluto said he'd make our wedding. "let's get together, yeah, yeah, yeah" Look it's my berfday! awwww so cute! Another line that took way too long to go through. but I did get to meet a few celebrities Mmmmm Real Steam Trains Not just for kids! Daisy doing her best Regan impression. Mickey's Toontown Fair was a bit nicer then I was actually expecting Man I loved that film YAY I actually like this ride (more so at Holiday time)
  15. YAY new update! Magic Kingdom was the third Park we hit and after a bit of drama at the hotel that morning, we were on our way and arrived nice and early to the park. To be honest, I didn't like the park as I thought I would. I had a blast and the park is really fun, but I definitely didn't think it lived up to the hype that many people have set up for it. I think the biggest thing is that it's not much different then Disneyland, just more spaced out with less impressive rides. I also know nostalgia is playing a huge part in my views as I grew up on Disneyland. It used to be the BIG thing as a kid when we could manage to make it that year to Disneyland. When I got my pass a few years ago, I was there two three times a month, sometimes a week, and I got to know that park and all the little things that were just plain cool and I still discover new things every visit. lol now I'm just rambling, bottom line is I love Disneyland and Magic Kingdom just didn't surpass it. First up as we entered the park it was time to get some buttons! I got a first visit button and a birthday button which would provide a real highlight moment for the whole trip. Off to Adventureland and a trip on the Jungle Cruise, I'm glad we had a decent captain as having worked on Cedar Point's Paddlewheel Excursions I definitely know that a bad captain can make a very bad ride. Next up was Pirates of the Caribbean which had a great queue, but the ride was inferior to it's western counterpart. I enjoyed seeing Swiss Family Treehouse again as it's been a while since the overlay DL's with Tarzan. We headed over to Splash Mountain and the Frontierland section of the park. I liked that SM told the story of Br'er Rabbit running away from the Briar patch better, but it felt slow and it was damn humid in that show building. Next up was Big Thunder Mountain, and we waited way to long to ride, it was fun, but I'm not the biggest fan of the Big Thunder's I've been on. Next up was a relaxing ride on Liberty Belle Riverboat and heading over to haunted mansion. I really liked it, it was odd not actually moving in the stretching room, but the new speaker system was pretty damn amazing! I liked the improvements throughout the rest of the ride as well and hope a few of the newer effects make it into the refurbishments of Disneyland's. Over in Fantasyland we hit up "it's a small world" and I saw a friend from Cedar Point so yay for that, iasw is also a guilty pleasure of mine so I enjoyed it and I actually can't wait for the "improvements" coming to DL's. One of the attractions I was definitely looking forward to was Mickey's PhilharMagic and it didn't disappoint. I absolutely loved the show and while the 3-D was a little lacking, the overall attraction was worth a view and I wish I could have watched it again! we ended up skipping out on the rest of the Fantasyland dark rides as the other really didn't want to do any and I figured I'll be back so I could skip out on them. We headed over to Mickey's Toontown Fair so I could get my barnstormer credit and we could get some pictures with the characters where we waited yet another ridiculously long time to get pictures with Donald, Goofy, Pluto and Mickey in his separate tent. It was about time for our reservations at Cinderella's Royal Table inside of Cinderella's Castle. so we trekked back through Fantasyland and got in line for our picture with Cinderella herself and headed up to our table. We had yet another amazing waitress and I ended up having the prime rib which was actually really good and usually I'm not found of those types of cuts. Since two of us were wearing birthday buttons, our waitress started singing happy birthday enlisting the help of the table next to us, by the end the whole restraunt was singing, BEST. THEME PARK EXPERIENCE. EVER. For now at least. Off to Tomorrowland as this was the last "land" to hit and there was plenty of filler rides to do. Since we just had a huge meal, we headed over to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority and it just so happened that the lights were on in Space Mountain's building. After that we headed over to Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. I hated the guns that were attached and again, the building was again very humid. We ended up stopping, which was great for my score, but sucked cause it was gross in there. At some point I forced everyone to do Stitch cause I wanted to see the animatronics for myself (freakin AWESOME by the way) and we did MILF (Monster's Inc. laugh Floor) and they made me dance on screen and they told my joke at the end, today f**king rocked. At some point we also did Space Mountain sometime after small world, but I don't really remember when. Coaster wise I liked it a little more then DL's, but for me you can't beat the awesome soundtrack from Michael Giacchino. if they end up doing what they did out here and rip out the existing track but added new track with the same layout and added some music it could very easily top Disneyland's. Finally, we staked out our spot to watch Wishes and it was damn good, just to the right facing the castle. The show was pretty good to, not as solid as the Remember Dreams come true show at Disneyland, but it managed to use a lot more big shells more often so that was fun, I like when things explode lol. That was the end of our day so we all went back to the hotel and crashed. The next and final day lead to Animal Kingdom and a final night at Pleasure Island. I really like the building they chose for this though. Well, fu** this, This gravestone blinks! Hmmmm I hope there are no ghosts. Let's go ride the boat instead! I think I like this shot almost as much as the "innards" of a Ferris wheel. awww it definitely looks haunted to me. ooo what's that creepy looking building, I hope it's not Haunted. YAY! Two at once! "Thar she blows!" Some of them are squirters, some of the are dribblers. 30 minute wait...yeah right, I think we waited 45 if not longer. Splash's queue here looks like Pooh's in Cali. Now that we're properly lubricated, off to run to "the wildest ride in the wilderness!" only to find out it was down so it was back to getting moist Disney is very liberal, this ride is sponsored by gay bears *insert you're own wide log going into a small wet hole here* After the gay Cowboys danced with Woody, Jessie and Bullseye, we heded further in to find this. Too boring, didn't watch. THE MAGIC IS RUINED! Ugh, I'm on vacation, too many stairs! No Rosie O'Donnell allowed! Does it involve booty? Yeah Pirates! Poor-man's Epcot? Very nice! Q:Why do Seagulls fly over the Sea? A:Cause if they flew over the bay they would be called "Bay-gulls" YAY Corny jokes? Q:What do you call a dog with no legs? A: Doesn't matter he won't come to you anyway Maybe next time horrible show These guys were awesome and I'm sure a HUGE relief in the summer. I love Cherry Blossoms oooo very nice, i don't know what it is, but this had a much different feeling then it's counter part on the other side of the country. There we go, on to some rides! Seriously, how much room do you need? It's so big! (That's what he said) Man, there's just so much room. ooo what's that? the actual space to use the "rocks" entrance to tomorroland look decent The closest I got to a Monorail this trip I also apparently take pictures like a proper lady with my pinkie up lol. I love that everything is to scale except for Lumiere. Lumiere attack! I love the Mainstreet displays of movies. oooo I can actually see the Castle at the end of the street It's so pretty! Hell yeah, visit #1! It's so roomy Nevermind It looks so familiar! Hello and Welcome to my park.
  16. I definitely think the most shocking thing is that Alex found someone to date him. I don't follow much CP stuff now (especially "fan sites" that have like 15 pictures of the same damn thing from slightly different angles!), so thanks for posting this in a fun way while pointing out the new stuff. Hopefully I'll get to see it all later this Fall.
  17. The Court of Angels is beautiful (the are you just discovered in New Orleans Square) especially during the holidays when it's all decked out in lights. many people have their family pictures taken there and I know a few people like to propose in that little spot. It always makes me smile passing the coffin penny press too. Thanks for the pics, it's been killing me not having my pass and not being able to go, so pics will have to do for now!
  18. I really don't think they could have in the back half of the park. The attached pic stolen from tkkyj's Knott's KBF 04-26-2008 photo TR clearly shows how close the houses are to the park on the upper left hand of the picture, which also describes the need for the shed. I think they did ok for where the ride is. Credit goes to tkkyj's Knott's KBF 04-26-2008 photo TR
  19. Don't forget the mummy rides and the launchers that have the dual sliding load station that have moving track pieces as well.
  20. No no no, just add necklace lol. Dude, awesome pictures! That hotel looks amazing! Thanks for sharing this with us. I look forward to seeing the rest!
  21. Unfortunately, due to rain I didn't get the camera out as much as I would have liked the final few days. Here are a few more pics from DHS and Downtown Disney. next up is Magic Kingdom! When we got back to the hotel, a school group was coming in and all the security guards were yelling at the kids to get back into their own rooms, made us laugh! I am now the Toy Story bitch Buzz Lightyear why I NEVER!!" We went into the Vrgin mega store and played in there for a little while and I don't even remember what book this was in it just made me laugh. yeah, that bad. CIRQUE DU SOLIEL! I'm a huge geek about their shows. "what's that smell?" This is kinda what I saw getting to the bottom Starting the bucket of Booze. RAWR give me some McDonalds! When i was there two summers ago, i didn't see a giant Rainforrest cafe logo in the sky nor anyone walking there dogs on the roof of the Sydney Opera House I have a thing for long big wet things it was good. Mmmmm Earl of Sandwhich. Switching over to Downtown Disney, the fat kid in me came out and I couldn't resist licking goofy's balls. Fantasmic! was not as good as the show out West, but I did like sitting down on benches. ooo Disney went all out in themeing the sky too. Damn they're good. Look, I'm famous! (pardon the blur, I was on stage and it takes a while to get used to the settings I usually use) Of course I was the only brown one up there so I guess I filled in there quota for the show. It's not my cup of tea, but I would let Indy use his whip on me. Some more interesting Disney inspired topiary This was our hot waiter, I apparently had my after sex glow filter on. Like I said, I had the Thai Noodle Bowl for the main course, but I also had the Brown Derby Grapefruit Cake which was awesome as well. YAY We made it! Ooo almost there! What time is it? Dinner time Go get your grub on! I know laaammme. I love me some GRR action Imagining this as real definitely gives me a semi. The Tree of Life, the Animal Kingdom "Weenie" They had a ton of stuff to see, leanr, and even play with in there (I really liked the Animatronics display they had) This is a model of Euro-Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle It wasn't quite time for our reservations so we headed over to find other stuff to se for a bit, we skipped on The Little Mermaid show, and opted for walking through this exhibit for a bit.
  22. Thanks for all the compliments guys! Next up was Disney's Hollywood Studios (I've never been to Disney-MGM Studios so ) Which I liked, but thought it was extremely lacking in rides! We started the day walking in on a High School Musical performance and heading on over to Tower to get it out of the way. I loved the queue, and the overall presence it had on that area of the park. I know many people will not agree, but I hated the 5th dimension, it was way to cheesey to fit the rest of the ride and it really took me out of the ride. The random drops were awesome, as were all the little things shown each time, but none of them felt nearly as powerful as DCA's. Overall I don't prefer either version to each other (so no "good/bad Tower" from me) and would gladly ride both of them if given the opportunity. then it was over to Rock 'N' Roller coaster, which I thought was fun, but I definitely liked Flight of Fear at PKI more. Although I was extremely happy to get "Love in an elevator" while we were riding, and I got to see the Shocker officially from Disney lol. Next up we headed over to the Great Movie Ride, which I liked a lot more then I was expecting. We headed over to Star Tours, loved the outdoor queue, and I forced the group to go see Muppet's 3-D (which I'm extremely thankful for the updated (and really good) animatronics we have at DCA. Then we went and saw Lights, Motors, Action where they F'ed up quite a bit during the ballet (including have to switch out main cars) and a not-so-quick trip on the backlot tour. Having been spoiled by the original backlot tour at Universal Hollywood, this seemed very lackluster and staged (which I know it is) in comparison, but it was fun seeing some of the displays they have including the villans exhibit at the end. After playing for a bit in the Honey, I shrunk the Audience playset area we took a stroll through Walt Disney: One Man's Dream to kill some time until our dinner reservation at Brown Derby, of course walking over high School musical was yet again playing. Anyway, it rained heavily during our meal (I had the Thai Noodle Bowl with cocnut breaded tofu which was pretty damn amazing) so that cleared a lot of the park out. After dinner we headed over to watch the Indiana Jones stunt show and I got choosen to be one of the the extras. However it started raining agian so they didn't do the third act finale. It was getting late-ish so we ended up re-riding Tower and RnR and watching Fantasmic! which was ok, I liked actually having seats for the show, but I'll take Disneyland's anyday. Overall I fetl Disney's Hollywood Studios was too much of a "show" park. There was plenty of stuff to do (for me since I do like shows) but not enough rides. Toy Story mania will definitely help out, and I thnk another 3 or 4 rides will round out the park a lot. Definitely my third favorite park on property. I wanted to head over to Downtown Disney to check it out so I invited one of my Orlando friends to come over and hang out for a bit. I liked the area, I just wish it wasn't raining the whole time. Finally got to eat at Earl of Sandwhich and we just walked around and I had a bucket of booze. I didn't do my reasearch and I had no idea that there were three different sections to the place lined up like that. it was kinda cool bieng on the water like that, and Pleasure Island looked like fun. We just kinda strolled around for a bit before my friend drove me back to the hotel to copy pictures from my camera, which was great for me cause I was running out of room on my memry card. I ended up falling asleep around 3-ish. Finally it was off to bed and the biggest "dissapointment" of the trip later that morning, Magic Kingdom! Seriously, someone needs to get these companies to hire me, I practically give them their marketing pictures. HELP! ok, maybe you can YOU can't make me go!! hmmm what's that? shrooms oh, is that all. something phallic shaped kept squirting funny, I've heard that before... HISTK-MSA ran back to get a picture of the sign and off to... This was pretty cool oooo I want one! HECTOR! I don't remember what this was. I liked the movie and Tilda Swinton scares me. oh those movies just sucked The Penguin! oooo backside of action 42 " I'm going to find it and I'm going to destroy it. I don't know how yet. Possibly with dynamite." Flight of the navigator was an awesome movie! Different angle of the plane from the Backlot tour better part of the finale! Finale Disney jet! it's like bieng back in New York, but not really. That entrance is creepy YAY Muppets! This queue is just a little nicer then others. Kids practicing playing with their sabers. YAY Marry Poppins! The latest fall fashions from Narnia A dress fit for a Queen Taking this "uphat" felt kinda dirty Rock on! Steven Tyler's Shocker + love in an Elevator = awesome ride! The line took way too long (there definitely had to have been a shut down of some sort for how long we were in the same spot) but it was fun. This Queue was the perfect mood setter for the ride, that I will give to Florida's ToT Hello original tower wow, it's like the queue isn't just a bunch of switchbacks right in front of the building "Everybody all for one, A real summer has just begun! Let's rock and roll and just let go, feel the rhythm of the drums We're gonna have fun in the sun Now that all the hard work, work is done! Everybody, one for all and all for one! All for one, one!" Disneyland in CA Are you seeing this?
  23. Attendence for DCA is already up, they keep blowing through their projected daily attendence forcasts often, and I'm sure it has a lot to do with this ride and all the (actually positive) media surrounding the park and it's upcoming improvements. For those complaining about the "poor youtube quality" of the video, they do link to a 191MB version of the video here. It definitely helps, especially when the guy does use the one lens over the camera lens, you can definitely see some quality animation there. Like I said, it looks fun.
  24. I'm thinking the point of showing it through the one lens was so that it wasn't "blurry" like the rest of the video to give an idea of the video quality; not necessarily trying to make it look 3-D for the viewer. I will say that RealD is far less "blurry" then older 3-D technology for those people who can't use the glasses for whatever reason, and I'm sure that's what they are using for the ride. I definitely think they were aiming for more of a C or even D ticket with this ride much less an E ticket quality attraction. It looks like fun though, nothing amazing or groundbreaking, but still fun. I will definitely agree with Robb in that this wasn't what I was expecting, not expecting anything, yet expecting more. Did that make sense? I don't know how long I would wait for this, but it won'tbe long and it won't be often. Probably the same amount as I do for Buzz now. But does anyone else see the beauty of this attraction for Disney? Like Tower of Terror V2, it's just a monitor that can (and definitely will) be changed out years down the road. With some redressing, they can bring in a whole new set of games or characters when this thing gets a bit stale and make it "new" for them. Think of the Holiday Layovers they could do! think of the merchandise! Oh wait, I guess that's the point of most newer Disney rides isn't it? Ok, I'm tired and rambling now. Good job Disney getting another ride into DCA!
  25. Only way I can (barely) afford to travel around the world is to not worry about rent, so with mommy and daddy it is. I don't mind as I really don't have rules set upon me (couldn't handle a curfew at my age and my experiences!) and my family is pretty damn amazing.
