  1. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome! I love the pics from Maccau and HKDL!! Definitely two of the places I need to see before I die.
  2. ^He's referring to two seats per "row" meaning four additional seats per car. I think it wouldn't work since there's not the same clearence between the front seats and the back seats as if they were two seperate rows like on the other B&M hypers (of course this is just pure speculation having not been on any B&M Hypers... yet...)
  3. I just want to start by saying I have horrible "gaydar." I also read this very intresting article posted to New York Magazine from last year that goes into some detail about different physical traits between the sexes and the different orientations. It is a long read, but very intresting. Also here's the article about scent based gaydar. And finally, here's a video from 60 minutes based upon one of the studies done mentioned in the first artilce. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHT9RevQV88
  4. Just to add on to what Wes said, I've never been denied single rider on Splash Mountain so USE IT! Also I think the best place to sit on Space Mountain is the front row, and Disneyland's firworks show is damn amazing (I liked it better the the version of Illuminations I saw back in March) but I think the best spot for the show is at the end of Mainstreet on the right near the Main Street Photo Supply Co. It's standing, but I think it offers the best view of the entire show. Fast Pass like crazy, you can have one for a Disneyland ride, a DCA ride, AND Roger Rabbit in the same "time frame" (meaning the window from when you get a fastpass until you are able to get another one) so get there early and get as many as you can. The earlier you get there, the more you can get done. You'd be surprised how much you can actually do before 10AM on very busy days at Disneyland. I would say give Knott's at least half a day, since you've never been, you can find a lot of fun things to do if you're not just into the coasters, the Ghost Town section is fun as most of the buildings are actualy authentic.
  5. The original simulator and experience was, but the second one added was themed to Voyager and the Borg. I've ridden them both over the course of their lifes and they're a lot of fun, the simulators themselves are pretty meh, but it's ALL about the pre-show. I'm hopefully going to get out there before they close, but it's less then two months away so who knows.
  6. I'm thinking more exaggerated double down, but Hafema did build River Quest at Phantasialand which had some pretty messed up things about it planned.
  7. I've said it before and I'll definitely say it again, CONGRATS TO BOTH OF YOU!!! That video was so cute and her reaction was priceless.
  8. I was more refering to that last part I quoted from you. It obviously effected it enough for magnum that one ride lol. I agree with you to a point though, but I mean really what more can you do then (politely, and I'm not insinitaing anything about your responses to the park) express your (general "your" in this case) dissatisfaction with the policy to the park. More then once a rule has been changed at the park becuase enough people complain about a certain thing. Ever throw a hairdryer in a bathtub? Electricity and Water don't mix. And Snoopy Bounce basically turns into a bouncy pool when it rains, not fun having to vaccuum out the water before it can open (ok, maybe a little getting to walk/bounce around in there).
  9. One would really think so, but the use of drive tires for much of the newer rides transportation around the ride really is a big problem in the rain. When I worked at Dragster and it rained we would cycle the ride and the drive tires couldn't always make the first train head all the way into launch position causing an e-stop. I also know mantis had the same problem with the drive tires, in that the trains would slip a lot while entering the station. Once again, there were a lot of things that went into the Magnum accident leading the park's head honchos, the park's lawyers, AND the park's insurance company to prompt a lot of these changes in policy. Please don't assume you know all of the details. Also, even though you ddin't geet a response back, they definitely are helping get things changed.
  10. VEGAS! Like I said, not too many updates from here on out, but there will be new stuff. This update is mostly going to focus on a lot of the construction happening around the strip with a bit of my trip thrown in. Let me start off by saying I love Vegas, like a lot. In the past 10 months I've been there four times. This time I was fortunate enough to stay in Marriott's new Hotel/timeshare, Marriott's Grand Chateau located near the MGM signature towers and Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. The location was great as it wasn't too far from all the Vegas hotspots. This trip like most of my others was mostly walking around trying to find the new things to discover. I finally saw Cirque du Soleil's KẦ at MGM, which was pretty damn amazing. The moving set they had blew me away in terms of sheer size of it and how easy it moved around. Not too much else to tell, let's get to the pics. Until next time, goodnight and great tomorrow. I love driving through the desert ooo nature's fireworks It's still so wierd not seeing the Hotel there. And how do I finish a trip to vegas? A trip to the Cheesecake factory of course not quite the same effect when it's full of water and working properly. Not the first time I've heard that one. The other side of the Volcano The Volcano at The Mirage is still under construction Boobies for the guys The big waterfall a little further over at Wynn. The waterfall's at Wynn. Encore is coming along very nicely as well. the bottom half of that two story fountain I pictured earlier the pic says it all. This wasn't finished when i was here in Jan so it's nice to finally see it all open and not under a ton of scaffolding in case you forgot where it was Another angle of the Fountain the massive fountain outside of the valet area Damn I love this Hotel Amen sister! Two story fountain in the Palazzo cool little waterfall thingie in front of, well you guessed it, the Mircle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood (mmmmm Earl of Sandwhich). Hair scrunchies? MAKE UP YOUR MIND! The screen was broke so it had this all day. What a great way to welcome people New York New York. Beyond those doors lies magic that can only be described as awe-inspiring. I'll take one of everything please It was hard to time the picture while actually driving. My first time in a convertible was this trip. The Plazzo, the newest mega Hotel and Casino to open up on the Strip AdventureDom'es newest Addition, The Disco. Also, Rim Runner (which besides having the BEST name for a water ride) was OPEN contrary to what Screamscae says. Who knows for how much longer, but it was indeed open. Yes, I'm jealous The Grand Chateau's pool is on the roof allowing for some great views of the Strip. Just because it's so freakin' massive another pic of construction. Look a roller coaster! had to tie it into the rest of my TR's somehow the 9.2 Billion (with a capital "B") CityCenter Someone else's home away from Home, but I got to crash (Thanks again Patrick ) Balls on my face The TPR europe trip saw the real things. Again, the ultra massive CityCenter Another look at Marriott's Grand Chateau The tower(s) at PH from ground level Hard Rock's expansion is under way. Fontainebleau Las Vegas, when completed at a cost of 2.9 billion, will be the second tallest structure in Las vegas at 725 feet. The view from the room looking right toward the Hard Rock hotel and Casino Marriott's Grand Chateau lit up at night Still one of my favorite shows of all time. Me being a dork yet again. The completed model for project City Center For those that like to get high Bears represent And creepy ass tree Cute litle animatronic baby bald eagles. Model train for a few to get tissues over very patriotic the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden currently has it's "Summer Garden Party Show" exhibit on until September 6. I couldn't decide which picture I liked best so you get both! ALso fun to have them close there eyes before having them look up into the lobby. It's always fun to see people's reactions when they watch the Fountain's of Bellagio for the first time. Vomiting fish fountain? check. Paris definitely offers one of my favorite Hotel exteriors. The lions are always cute to look at the View from our 29 floor room offered great views of the new Planet Hollywood Tower(s) going up. First was the demolisment of the Nevada landing riverboat shapped Hotel. The plan is to build a new Casino and community for the area, but it's still sad to not see the hotel on the drive over now. In Jean, NV there used to be two hotel Casino's The Gold Strike and Nevada Landing. MGM mirage are said to have some new plans for the area. I always enjoy the drive over.
  11. I have some great memories of almost dying on Toverland's rope course so I'm sure this would have been amazing to witness and/ or experience lol.
  12. ^^ I'd say more Voyage like, Some people just don't like the brutality. Gods that was a dorky analogy. I personally love her, she's much less an actual comedian, and much more like a storyteller who is really funny.
  13. ^Ahhh "reset and go" lol it's like it should be Intamin's mantra. Do you want a cookie?
  14. oh wow, this might actually be done by the time you leave, I'm so proud! I'm also sad we couldn't see each other again on your way home, but we'll see each other soon enough so I'm not worried.
  15. ^ The poor performer stuck in that wahle suit, sucks to have that job. And I'm more offended that the japanese make this crap: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=er0u0rLOaR0 I mean really is that all they see American's as? Cowboys in the middle of a desert? And this one: As the Governor of California (and apparently everyother adult male in the world) we should all have Direct TV.
  16. You can't forget all the ABC shows going to Disneyworld (Family Matters, Full House, Step by Step, Boy meets World, Sabrina: the teenage Witch, Rosanne, and I'm sure I'm missing some)
  17. Becuase the law that passed (and was struck down) violated what is currently in the California State Constitution. What people are going to vote on this November is to actually change the Constitution itself to ban same-sex marriage.
  18. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/12/garden/12puzzle.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1&no_interstitial and http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/2008/06/11/garden/0612-PUZZLE_index.html This Fifth Avenue apartment in New York came with quite a few bonus surprises set in by a Architect with a few ideas of his own. The result is classic mystery and just plain cool involving 18 steps to reveal a few fun and intresting things built into the home. It's definitely things like this that let me have faith in humanity that all imagination is not lost (I'm looking at you mainstream Hollywood) and that people can still have fun in this world.
  19. Damn I love me some of them old school dark rides. Thanks for sharing!
  20. Man I really need to get out of this side of the country! Looks like a great time was had, and Dollywood is quickly climbing on the list of parks I really want to experience, and not just credit run.
  21. YAY Another Dave TPR! Can't wait for the rest of this, and I think a shark-related puppet show featuring bears with chainsaws ice skating and chasing kids would be great viewing from a cable car.
  22. ^^Yes please! I'm actually hoping to get out there at the end of September, but we'll see if I can work that one out. ^No actually I don't, but ask Lou, I have an incredible set of lungs that let me hold out a yell if I wanted to for quite some time lol. That video was just the inasnity I was feeling at the end of the nine days getting very little sleep and finally being at Disney. But like I said, Animal Kingdom was definitely my favorite park out of all four and I hope it gets a few more good rides to really round out the experience.
  23. I definitely think they could make it work if they had the right people doing the right things for the show. Sounds like it will be a fun show regardless of how crappy it turns out. I'll still probably watch it, it can't be as bad as Spiderman Rocks... can it?
  24. lol I'm glad people actually like the video! We were worried we wouldn't get one as a few times as soon as we left the station, we could feel the rain, bu I definitely think video does not do the ride justice, it was a lot more fun then every video I watched could show (the backward part in the mountain is fun if you drop your head, feels like you go through an inversion)
