Photoless Magic Mountain Trip Report
Golfie replied to kidaftersunset's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You should get some cargo shorts and put your stuff in velcro/zipper/buttoning pockets. -
Timberland Twister at the Park at MOA
Golfie replied to Golfie's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^^I hope you're right about the weight distribution thing. If that's the issue, the ride ops should be more careful about balancing the cars. I was in a bit of pain after bumping my head on the headrest in the last helix! P.s. I'm glad to hear they're building an Intamin Halfpipe (OMGZ! <3 halfpipe) in the center fountain area - that thing is such an eyesore! -
Timberland Twister at the Park at MOA
Golfie replied to Golfie's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That's what I was thinking - considering I sat in the same place both times. However, you could see the bumping in mostly every car when the riders were jerked around (and not just because of the spinning) -
Timberland Twister at the Park at MOA
Golfie replied to Golfie's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hmm... I don't know - at the point each track segment ended and joined with another one, a rather violent bump occurred. (Don't get me wrong - I LOVE the park at MOA, I was just expecting more from TT) -
Well, I just got back from our trip to Mini-Soda tonight (sorry - no photos!) and was VERY disappointed with their 2004 Gerstlauer spinning coaster, Timberland Twister. The ride jerked and bumped at every joint and caused headaches from all the head rattling - it was almost as bad as an Arrow corkscrew! Are all Gerstlauers like this or does MOA just have a horrible construction crew? After riding this, I'm a little worried to get on their new Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter next year. (No hints of construction, yet.) Thanks, Golfie

Funniest Ride Experiences
Golfie replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just find it funny how someone always screams "Oh SHIT" at the crest of Raging Bull's lift. -
Ooh that Batman must've been odd to ride. Everything was opposite. Silver Dollar City looks amazing - I hope I can go there sometime soon!

We spent more than 1.5 hours trying to update my Grandparent's Mac's version of flash last night. Whatever happened to user friendly? 'nuff said.

4th July Weekend Movies You're Looking Forward To
Golfie replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
Ratatouille looks cute (as does ANY Pixar movie), Evan Almightly looks freaking hilarious, and transformers is just plain awesome. -
Kentucky Kingdom (SFKK, KK) Discussion Thread

Wait... I thought Mythbusters proved that you can't get killed by a cable snap? (I know she didn't get killed, but she got her freaking legs cut off!) -
B&M HYPER COASTER CONTEST
Golfie replied to Eric_Smith's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Personally, I'm starting to get overly tired of rocket coasters being made on NL... why don't you have something like a hyper coaster or looping coaster contest? -
Should Rosie O'Donnell host "The Price Is Right?"
Golfie replied to CoastersNSich's topic in Random, Random, Random
NOT AT ALL! We need a classic TV personality... preferably a male (no offense, females) who adds charm to the classic feel of the show. Rosie just doesn't fit the mold! -
Help For People With Stomach Feeling Problems!!!
Golfie replied to pinkcakepartyfavors's topic in Random, Random, Random
Flying is one of the most mild things you'll ever do... it's the same as accelerating in a car. The only "stomach feeling" you have is while landing - even if it does occur, the sensations are miniscule and just feel like you're jumping. When the plane first lands on the runway, it's a little rough, but nothing bad at all. Your friends don't know what they're talking about! -
We watched that in florida 5 times over and over while the start of the hurricanes came through... then the power went out and I almost shat myself.

Graphic designers/cartoonist
Golfie replied to RollercoasterTigger's topic in Random, Random, Random
Could you provide us with some more specifics? (size, color, what you want us to include, text, etc.) I might try it if I can get a better idea of what you'd like. -
Why did you HAVE to put it on Google video? I get the WORST quality on there because of my widescreen.

NL Helix
Golfie replied to rileybrands's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
If you do it by hand (like I do), the helixes can turn out just great. Make a consistent turn by moving the mouse at a 45* angle (one dot up/down, one dot left/right). Once you've reached the size you want, make a vertex there and adjust the vertices so the turn is smooth. Then move to either frontal, back, or side view and move the node you just made up or down. Adjust the nodes so the turn rises at a consistent angle. Don't get frustrated - you'll need to make MANY coasters and have a bunch of practice before you become a great designer - I'm still working on it! -
[NL] 3DS Request
Golfie replied to Vekoma Fan Boy's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Eric, try putting them in a .zip folder and uploading them - that should do the trick. -
Using different RollerCoaster Tycoons
Golfie replied to jtizzle's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I just used RCT2 & RCT3 just before... on VISTA! Eat that, Vista haters. So yes, it does work. -
Never ridden it, but I THINK that Kumali at Flamingoland is "smooth as a baby's bottom!"
