Most intense brake run?
Jetstar2 replied to Mikxy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Jet Star 2 for sure. With the inline seating and no single riders it can easily lead to unintended headbutts. Not a very fun ride IMO. lol -
I rode Kyary Pamyu Pamyu XR Ride which is normally a spinning coaster (Space Fantasy), but the cars were locked in a non-spinning state (and only the two forward facing seats were loaded) to accommodate the VR thing. There was no choice between spinning and non-spinning cars though. So yes, spinning coasters can offer a non-spinning car, even they almost certainly don't.

Unknown ride Manufacturer...

Speedway Jr. at Lagoon is the only ride at the park that nobody can seem to positively identify the manufacturer of. Anybody out there know? [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] -

The Dark Ride Project is supposed to be at Lagoon tomorrow to take 360ยบ VR video of the park's two dark rides for preservation purposes. I think that's a fantastic idea. I think every park should VR video every attraction, both when it's new and before it's removed, so that in the future the park can offer VR historical rides. It's too bad they didn't get Terroride before the revamp. It's also too bad that Dracula's Castle is not in the greatest state of repair this year. -

There's a new hour long local PBS documentary about Lagoon up on facebook for a limited time. It focuses mainly on the 1886-1970 time frame. It focuses a lot on non-ride attractions and concerts over the years. It's crazy to me that it has the only decent image of the park's pre-Terroride dark ride I've ever seen, and it's Janis Joplin riding it. https://www.facebook.com/kuedchannel7/ -
After reading this article where Shigeru Miyamoto says that preparations are in place for the Nintendo Switch to interact with Super Nintendo World, I'm tripling down on my bet that the entire land is also the world of a playable Mario game that can be downloaded and played while waiting in line. http://nintendoeverything.com/miyamoto-on-super-nintendo-world-possible-switch-interactivity-non-mario-representation-more/

Thanks for the update! Now I'm doubling down on my prediction that what you see is a playable game that can be downloaded while at the park in addition to being a real physical environment. Levels might be: Peach's Castle Blocks and Vines Pyramid Desert Tall Mountain Ice Cave Bowser's Castle You might have to actually go to each of those locations to play that level. The first time I went to USJ I really didn't want to go but somebody literally cried when I said I didn't. The second time I went I would have rather done something else, but I went in order to spend more time with my good friend. Next time I'm in Japan I actually want to go because of this and there probably won't be anybody to go with.

Just a little update about what's happening at Lagoon for the TPR peeps. Currently we are awaiting the re-opening of Terroride. The ride has been heavily updated with an apparent storyline and all new scenes by film director Joseph Wartnerchaney and the Utah Opera scenic dept. The original mural by Bill Tracy that was removed in 2010 has been put back, although with a dancing man painted out. We don't know much more, Lagoon is highly secretive, but we believe it will open any time now. Here's an article about it (and new SoCal attractions). http://www.sltrib.com/home/5152530-155/whats-new-at-lagoon-its-a Word is that the park's other Bill Tracy dark ride, Dracula's Castle may receive similar treatment next year. And then there's this: We hear Lagoon is looking at opening another roller coaster in the 2020ish season. The word 'interactive' has been thrown around. Of note, Lagoon's last two 'in-house' coasters have trains that were built by ART Engineering GmbH, who also built the trains for Wonder Mountain's Guardian. These plans could change, apparently there have been some issues with utilities at the intended site. -

You can only get an all-day pass at the gate, and all rides (except the upcharge rides) are included. The ride attendants will check your handstamp for every ride. The reasoning behind the handstamp check and the ticket thing is that sometimes a group event can take place where people in the group can enter without an all-day pass, and those people need to buy tickets to ride. From what I can tell it's now some mythical thing that never actually happens anymore. You'll be able to ride without worrying about tickets. -

You're probably right that it will be crowded. I don't really know how much the crowds have increased since Cannibal opened, but it has historically been possible to ride pretty much everything even on a crowded day. Looks like the park is open from 10 to 10 that day. Assuming it's a warm clear day the park will be pretty crowded particularly between 1pm and 8pm. If it's really warm that would make the peak times a bad time to ride the water rides. Since Pioneer Village, where they are located, closes at 9pm it might be best to get those in early on. Cannibal will have the longest line. Assuming Cannibal opens when the park does (it might not), I'd say do it first then head for the water rides. Then ride whatever you can/want during the day and remember that the lines should get shorter closer to the park closing. If it happens to be a rainy day, you're probably in luck. Weather in Utah fluctuates dramatically over short periods of time. If there's a downpour, tons of people won't stay. The weather will probably clear up and you'll have no problems getting on rides. I have no idea when Samurai will be working. It seems like this happened before, and it did eventually open but I don't know how long it took. The only size issues I know about are that people who ride in the same row of Wild Mouse have to be about the same size, and Samurai and Cliffhanger have specific seats for larger riders. Obviously there is some size limit on any ride, but if you can get on most rides I'm sure you'll be fine at Lagoon. Ride operations are somewhere between fine and very good. Air Race operates painfully slow which I believe is the ride's fault, and there may be other exceptions. It's hard to say how long the waits will be. I think you'll find them shorter than you might expect. I grew up going to Lagoon. I'm not used to long waits for rides. When I went to parks in Japan and saw lines over an hour, or even two, I couldn't believe it. I think you'll only find hour+ waits on Cannibal at peak times. If the re-imagened Terroride opens by the time you visit it may have long lines too. Cannibal and Wicked have single rider lines. They may or may not be quicker than the normal line, so watch them. There are no fast passes. You can't ride Jet Star 2 as a single rider. Dracula's Castle and Rattlesnake Rapids are pretty well hidden and you shouldn't miss them. You'll probably get a reply from somebody who knows more than I do before you go. Have fun! -

Called it. Lagoon announced the new ride Flying Tigers today, two weeks after it opened. It'll be interesting to see when they announce the still unopened re-imagined Terroride. -

Breaking: Lagoon announces new ride for 2017! Yes, Lagoon has finally announced the New Ruka Safari ride for 2017, only 8 days after it opened. At this rate I predict the park could announce another new ride that opened at the same time as soon as the end of this month! -

Hmm, I see. I think the Demolition Derby looks great, I also rode a Kite Flyer and thought it was awesome, but it seems to take extra time to load/unload. Zamperla doesn't even list the Jump Around on their site anymore so I thought it might have been discontinued. Flying Tigers does seem an awful lot like Red Rock Rally, and the Jump Around seems a lot like Bulgy/Scalawags/OdySea, but I really don't care all that much, I'm interested in Terroride. -

Looks like they're going to be 2 Zamperla family/kiddie rides. A Flying Tigers model is obvious and I'm guessing the other might be a Demolition Derby. I'm really interested to learn more about what they've done to Terroride. -
