Best park for coasters in EUROPE
Henry M replied to Henry M's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Germany in three days (inc travel) is decided. Everyone is going to groan when I say, no, there will be no Europa park. Yes, it is possible, but I would only be able to get one day, one and a half tops.I want to save such an amazing park for when I am older and alone and can spend some time there. Instead I have chosen to do this itinerary: Day one, London to Frankfurt, followed by Holiday Park, then back to Frankfurt for the night to sleep. Day two, Frankfurt to Cologne, followed by Phantasialand, and sleep there. Day three, Half a day at Phantasialand, followed by trip back home via Frankfurt. Compact, and not very robust (i.e, If plane is delayed one hour, no holiday park, thus no Europe's best coaster) but it should work. What do you think? -

I posted on some Facebook page a similar thing in that I predicted DM would compete. -
Over The Shoulder Restraints. (OTSRs)

When I was writing it, I knew it sounded like BS, however I said it was just a story. If true, it shows how good a simple lap bar can be. -
Over The Shoulder Restraints. (OTSRs)

Regarding the restraints on Schwarzkopf lap bar restraints, they were made to be able to be safe if left upside down and I herd a story about it. Lawyers and insurance people did not like it and made high insurance prices for if an accident happened, but Anton obviously did not like this and invited them to go on one of their trains and be inverted on a loop and held there by a crane. They got the idea after one minute. -

If you are staying near a train line then take the train, otherwise don't bother and get UBER. -
I think Alton Towers delivers with Nemesis and Oblivion. Although technically they are at the same park, it takes half an hour to reach the other! Worth it though.

What are your TOP TEN COASTERS
Henry M replied to ddaver177's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well for him, it is his best. I have never ridden it however it looks big and has a range of elements. Raptor is at ten on his list so he must prefer certain rides. -
Ay! I know this one. Tower of terror TWO. Worlds first 14 inverting rollercoaster.

I honestly have no clue which is better. They look so similar it is funny! I mean, they both have a drop followed by a large airtime hill, and then a twisty loop thing, but they are in reverse order to each other. Then there is the return journey with some airtime hill, then a section next to the station where there are some s-humps and steep corners and twisty bits. They look almost identical. -

Just sharing the shocking footage of the train being released to its doom. It actually sends a shiver down my spine how something like this could happen. http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/new-alton-towers-smiler-rollercoaster-crash-video-shows-full-horror-of-carriages-collision/story-29738567-detail/story.html -

I was not allowed to ride by myself on some rides, but I think you would. They have some strange policies at the park. Take an on ride video with a DSLR, "Why not??" But then ride Dragons claw with long hair not tied back "ma'am, you may want to check out some of your other attractions." Ask to sit back row when there are only three other people on the ride "No," and leave it empty (And look at you like you are some sort of weirdo). Although the park staff are very interactive, they seem to have so many messed up rules which prevented me from feeling like I was at the fifth most friendly park in the world. -

It is essentially a small friendly darkride where you travel through this perfect land. I find that sort of thing enjoyable and patronizing, so i did not ride, but it would be perfect for families with small children. -
