  1. Is you uncle's neighbor related to the Dipping Dots guy? Because we all know Dipping Dots is where the most accurate info is
  2. I enjoy both. Voted on launch since I love speed. I never had the anticipation thing. On the chain lifts I remember sitting next to others who would squirm and be nervous, which was amusing to me. I love Full Throttle and multiple aspects of that ride. If asked, non-expert me would have considered Maverick a launch type coaster. On Mean Streak, the lift hill was the smoothest part of the ride
  3. My current Pokedex has 125 (will be 126 after I evolve a first Exeggutor next time I drop a lucky egg) Currently at level 28, and it might be higher if I played every day. Usually weekends or while traveling. I'm saving candies now for gen 2.
  4. Here's a recent one I enjoyed. I'm the one on the right
  5. At least now from this thread I have an idea why it has said the same for me all these months. Ah well, no biggie.
  6. I have an Android phone. I just now opened the app to make sure I wasn't thinking of the wrong thing. It's there
  7. YES! Actually my favorite cargo shorts have two zippers, one at a back pocket, one on a side pocket. I forget which park I was at this year, but a ride op had commented on how it was neat I found a pair of women's shorts with deep pockets since most don't have them - probably because I got them in the men's section at a sporting goods store. I've always been more about function over "fashion"(yawn - so I'm not the boring girly girl type, I admit it)
  8. wallet, phone, extra and battery pack (in ziplock bags in case of wet), sunglasses
  9. SFMM: New Revolution - 2016 Twisted Colossus - 2015 Superman - 1997 (The original sure has changed compared to now) Batman - 1994 Flashback - 1992 Psyclone - 1991 Viper - 1990 Tidal Wave - 1989 Ninja - 1988 Z-Force - 1987 KBF: Boomerang - 1990 Bigfoot Rapids - 1988 Kingdom of the Dinosaurs - 1987 Disneyland: Splash Mountain - 1989 Star Tours - 1987 CP: Valravn - 2016 Rougarou - 2015 Silverwood: Spincycle - 2013 Aftershock - 2008 Tremors - 1999
  10. Something I never knew existed (except thanks to videos on the internet) was the Rocket Rods at DL. If I could go back in time, that's a ride I'd check out. Did anyone here ever get to enjoy them?
  11. My "home" park as far as being what's closest to me is Silverwood in Idaho. With only 4 coasters, it's not hard to list the order of my favorite to least favorite. 1. Aftershock 2. Timber Terror 3. Tremors 4. Corkscrew My subjective opinion on coasters to the parks I tend to travel to the most Cedar Point 1. Millennium Force 2. Maverick 3. Top Thrill Dragster 4. Gatekeeper 5. Raptor 6. Valravn 7. Rougarou 8. Magnum XL200 9. Gemini 10. VR version of Iron Dragon (regular Iron Dragon would rank second to last) 11. Wicked Twister 12. Cedar Creek Mine Ride 13. Blue Streak 14. Corkscrew 15. Meanstreak (in its original form before closing as of Sept. 2016 - anything new may rank it higher than the bottom of my list) * I don't consider Pipe Scream a "coaster" (more of a flat ride), and I've never ridden the two kiddie coasters, so no opinion on those. IF Pipe Scream had to be included above, I'd probably put it after Wicked Twister. SF Magic Mountain 1. Tatsu 2. F*ll Thr*ttle "Full Throttle" 3. X2 4. Goliath 5. Twisted Colossus 6. The New Revolution 7. Scream 8. Batman 9. Riddler's Revenge 10. Superman 11. Green Lantern 12/13. Ninja & Viper (two very different coasters, yet to me a tie as far as enjoyment). 14. Apocolypse * No opinion on Goldrusher since I haven't ridden it in years, and also none of the kiddie coasters since I don't go on those. Not a home park or one I have visited often, but based on recent & existing rides from past visits to Knott's: 1. Silver Bullet 2. Ghostrider (2016 version) 3. Xcelerator 4. Sierra Sidewinder 5. Jaguar 6. Pony Express 7. Boomerang 8. Coast Rider I haven't ridden Montezooma's Revenge for several years, and it was down last month, so hard to give a complete accurate opinion on this one.
  12. ^^^^ 25 years ago, waiting 4 hours in line, meant standing there, very very bored. Now a decent indication of a line is PokeStops lit up with lures Yes, I now catch Pokemon to pass the time. Unless I'm with someone, then it's just fun to visit with the person/people.
  13. Full Story Here Oh!! Like Samurai at Thorpe Park! It's going to be fun!
  14. Although I prefer CP over MM, I genuinely enjoy both (and have CF & SF annual passes). Both parks have their unique selections of enjoyable thrill rides. What CP has over MM is location (the views of Lake Eerie), cleanliness and landscaping. The theme of the parking lot ride (Scream) is certainly unique
  15. Tatsu at SFMM. This may end up being the last one til 2017, but at least the last one is an awesome one!!
  16. On flash pass (on Oct 14th & 15th) - a one time ride on X2 was offered for $15 additional. F*ll Thr*ttle "full throttle", Twisted Colossus, and Superman were all one time rides only on FP. I would have regretted NOT getting the FP on the Saturday I wanted to go on Wed, Oct 12th, but the park was closed that day - I do try to avoid crowds and do mid week stuff, but it's the time off work and actually being happy at my job as the reasons I sometimes get no other choice but to play on a crowded day. On 10/15 it seemed that most of the rides had a 2-4 hour wait. Even Viper had a queue of 20-30 minutes. If I still lived in the So. Cal area, I'd likely not bother with the FP. Since I'm limited on how often I can visit, and a die hard coaster nut, I always want to get in as many rides as possible. Expensive as FP at any park is, I don't have family, kids, etc., which makes obtaining FP (at any park) a little more feasible.
  17. I've been to Scarywood, Scaryfarm (KBF), and Fright Fest (SFMM) this year. I can see why Scarywood is known for being a top Halloween attraction. 3Dementia and Total Darkness are what stood out to me as being different/unique compared to the larger parks. Blood Bayou is also very well done. (depsite the old ice rink being gone). If anyone reading has never been to Scarywood, I'd say check it out, I found it just as enjoyable as the ones at the major parks.
  18. Really, it just started as a place for me to post random pictures of stuff and "blog" about things before the term "blogging" even existed. It started off as a Geocities site in 1996 and the only real snapshot I have of what that looked like is a version of the site from 1997: http://www.themeparkreview.com/tpr1997 And it just sort of took off from there... The memories of web rings! Thanks for sharing this link. The old Geocities page brings back memories. I find it interesting to see the past.
  19. I never referred to FT as yolocoaster. Crazy forum word replacement
  20. THIS (below) came up in my "recommended for you" list on YouTube. I doubt a serious investor is going to use this as an advice video. [youtu_be]https://youtu.be/TEFey8Nuxeo[/youtu_be]
  21. There are expected disappointments such as crowds and ridiculous food prices, etc., but I love theme parks, so know what I'm getting into in that respect. What I found unacceptable was the deplorable condition of the restrooms (the women's rooms anyways). Everything from a pile of toilet paper and tissues, literally at least a foot high in some stalls, women's "sanitary items" etc., all out in view. I'd hate to have my niece with me, see something like that, and start asking questions. The restrooms are just oh yuck! The only reason I didn't have to use it often is because I'm not one to pay $4 or whatever it is for bottled water, and the drinking fountains taste like you're drinking out of a swimming pool - the chlorine in the water has a nasty taste. The rides of course are my main draw to SFMM. Tatsu is my third favorite ride ever (Millennium Force & Maverick at CP being my #1 & #2). X2 & Full Throttle are my #4 tie for favorite rides.
  22. I was quite impressed with Knott's Scary Farm (I haven't been since about 1989). It has improved quite a bit since then! Today I finished my video edit of Scary Farm (I was quite impressed!) [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
