  1. I agree. Always thought that Chiller looked like an awesome ride, but it was gone by the time I was able to get to the park. I know both Mr. Freezes, and the Chiller had awful opening year problems, but why was Six Flags able to turn the other two into reliable coasters, but never The Chiller??
  2. Well, Wayne's World was distributed by Paramount, and it was good-sized hit. Paramount owned the park and the rights to the movie, so why not use the property? I know that Kings Dominion had an entire Wayne's World-themed area, and I presume Carowinds did, too. What's interesting is that they didn't have to change the ride's name (as they did with the Italian Job coaster) after Paramount sold the parks to Cedar Fair. Wayne's World is why I have a soft spot for Hurler.. It was the first " adult " comedy my Dad let me watch with him, so Hurler had always been a ride I wanted to ride, unfortunaly I never got to go during the Paramount owned days when they had Stan Mikiats (sp?)
  3. I'm really surprised they didn't hop on the Eurofigthers.. They're realitvily cheap, they look good, they fit into a really small footprint, and they're tons of fun. And they're not great on capacity, but a lot better than you would think.
  4. I went on a Sunday and Monday in mid July and all the coasters had at least 30 min wait all day..Thank god for flash passes.
  5. I was surprised they didn't pick Twisted Colossus for California, especially since they picked Wicked Cyclone for MA. It did seem like they were trying to promote a lot of new rides that opened or are opening.
  6. Illinois, Missouri and TN weren't really bad choices either. I mean theirs better choices in those states but The Boss, X-Flight and Wild Eagle are solid choices.
  7. They did get Wicked Cyclone on the list which is good.. And in some cases [ The Boss, The Voyage, X-Flight, Wild Eagle] aren't necessarily considered the best in the state much less their own chosen parks, but are at least legit coasters.
  8. Considering that their headquarters are located in Atlanta, you'd think they could have at least gotten Georgia right.
  9. I went on a Monday before, where every ride was a 10 min wait or less, and Nighthawk was at least 50 mins.. I imagine with Fury being as popular as it is, the waits could be longer in general.
  10. Someone did actually get tossed out of Bizzaro, granted it was a long time ago, and had nothing to do with the actual ride, but their statement wasn't entirely dumb.
  11. And they would edit you completely out, and instead interview the hysterical mother of four, that was two rows behind you.
  12. When I went in July they had both sides running, with two trains, and they were one of the fastest crews in the parks.
  13. The only time I hate sitting in brake runs are on flyers, Being faced down isn't the most comfortable position at any time.
  14. With Skyrider being removed, Shockwave probably doesn't have long.
  15. It's mixed if it rains.. Sometimes the coasters are open sometimes they aren't.. I have been there with pouring rain and nothing closed but been there in a drizzle and half the park closes.. Of course if there is a storm in the area the rides will also close.. It really just depends!! Lol It has also been a mixed bag in my experience, but generally most things stay open in rain if it is only rain. Mind Bender and Dare Devil Dive seem to be the most rain sensitive of the big rides. For Mind Bender, that is probably due to the fact that it uses friction braking and the brakes are mostly uncovered. DDD just seems to be highly fickle to changes in weather in general and often doesn’t open with the park. I've been surprised.. the two days opening weekend DDD actually opened on time with the park, I was shocked because like you said, that's extremely rare.
  16. SFOG Paint Goliath Paint Georgia Scorcher Paint SUF Goliath & Scorcher are more in need being in front of the park however. Get rid of Ninja and put in anything in it's place.
  17. Is Thunder River open yet?? I know it used to open during Spring Break.
  18. I wish they'd run Cyclone backwards... I heard backwards Viper at SFGam was amazing.
  19. Which Nashville station?? I hardly watch Local TV and when I do it's The Blacklist on NBC or Gotham on FOX, and when I do I always fast forward through the commercials, but I might have to be on the lookout.
  20. Chang SFKK.. Sucks to hear that it's apparently gotten rought at Great Adventure, I've always loved it.
  21. Aren't the one at Carowinds and Knotts the only ones to actually get people stuck?? I know, all the other ones have had their downtime, but most of it was a chain wide thing and not the individual Windseekers right?
  22. Having not been to this park before, do those coasters draw well enough to begin with? Also a guess- might the purpose of including those flats into their program be to to sway families with kids who aren't quite ready to ride coasters yet (and otherwise may not have thrown money at the passes)? Some parks cut a ride or two off on their fast lane/flash pass system.. American Eagle at SFGAM wasn't on the flash pass last year, nor was Little Dipper.
  23. Most parks I've been to have fountains by the bathrooms, and most parks will give you a small cup of water for free, if not all of them.
  24. I always though a Euro Fighter like DDD at SFOG would be a good Ninja Replacement. Or an X-Flight/X Clone. I've never understood why the Euro Fighters, or for that matter the wing riders never took off for Six Flags, they're both fantastic rides and would fit in at almost any park.
  25. I know there's no way it could run with 3 trains, but I would think a year around park, would invest in 3 trains for all their rides that way they can always have at least 2 trains operational.
