  1. I was just wondering if someone can help me out with some park history. I know Goliah is where Iron Wolf stood, and SUF is where Shockwave was, where was Deja Vu located?? Is it where X-Flight stands now??
  2. Sadly I never got to ride the one at SFOG.. I did get to ride the one at Magic Mountain though, it's a hell of a ride that's for sure, I'm sad to hear that the new reatraints on the old one from Magic Mountain are making the ride rougher up at SFNE.
  3. I may not be able to provide a lot of advice on Magic Mountain its self, but whenever I go to a Six Flags park I ALWAYS buy "THE FLASH Pass Platinum." It does not matter if I have never been to the park, or if I have been to the park 50 times. THE FLASH Pass Platinum not only cuts your wait time by 90%, but it also allows for re-rides on specific attractions without ever having to get out of your seat. With that being said, you are only going to be at the park for one day, and there is a lot to do at the park, I would spend the extra money and get THE FLASH Pass Platinum. It is the best way to ensure you get to do as much as you want while you are at the park. Now not all attractions are available for THE FLASH Pass but if you use THE FLASH Pass right then you can physically wait in line for a ride that does not allow THE FLASH Pass while you are always waiting in a line using THE FLASH Pass. That way you can ride more attractions in just one day. As it stands THE FLASH Pass Platinum is currently available for use on: (From SixFlags.com) With all of that being said I would strongly suggest you get THE FLASH Pass Platinum. It is the best way to make the most out of your visit. (At least that is how I always experience Six Flags Parks, and I have never been disappointed, or felt like I wasted my money.) I bet Twisted Colossus will be an upcharge, if not it'll definitely be Platinum.. I went to Great America and got a Platinum last year and got 2 rides on Goliath, so maybe they'll do it like that and allow 2 rides, or move Full Throttle or Superman off of 1 ride only.
  4. I went to the park for July 4th a few years ago and had a great time. Crowds were surprisingly light. We ended up riding MIndbender 10 times in a row since nobody was in the station. Got to watch the fireworks while riding the coaster. The 4th is on a Saturday this year, that's the part that would worry me the most.
  5. I don't think the Scream Machine arrow train makes that much of a difference.. I've had maybe two good rides in it, and that was when they first received the train, Ninja is just an awful ride all around IMO.
  6. I can't remember but which one did Silverwood get?? The Georgia one or the Great America one??
  7. I wish Dejavu never left.. I know the one at Magic Mountain had its occasional hiccups, but it never seemed to be plagued with the problems that the one in SFOG and SFGAM were plagued with.
  8. Ninja must been down for the count.. I still find it funny it was the featured ride on the last pass holder newsletter! Lol I'm hoping Ninja is down for the count. It's time we got a new coaster, it'll be 5 years since DDD, which opened 5 years after Goliath.
  9. Come to think of it, I think there might be a whole train waiting for them to pick up in Kentucky... Greezed Lightning train??
  10. I agree, it has to be another train, I'm not saying it's impossible to put a train back together, but like you said it was in pieces and bad shape.
  11. It was either Goliath or Whizzet at SFGAM, I can't remember which one I rode first.
  12. Maybe Zumanjaro but besides that and Ka they don't care... the park proved again on Saturday that they don't care about weather when they managed to valley one coaster and stall another one trying to get it to open in 50 mph wind gusts. Great Adventure has the best weather policy of basically any park in the U.S. When they're valleying and stalling trains I wouldn't exactly call that the best weather policy.
  13. Well damn, I guess they did get that other train put back together in a week, either that or they got a train from somewhere else.
  14. Something has to be wrong with Ninja, I don't think it's ran all year yet. How many trains were on Mindbender?
  15. This is exactly how I felt about namtaB at SFMM last year. I rode it once or twice and was done with it. So what park has this backwards chassis not arrived at yet? Besides SFGAdv which will be later this year, is the only remaining park SFSL? SFSTL although apparently it was tested out their, also Fiesta Texas and La Ronde haven't although they have Batman clones they go by different names, so I'm not sure if they'll do Vampire and Goliath baclwards.
  16. This is the greatest thing I've read today. Haha thanks.. In my defense I was around 12 or 13 when I thought this, so that makes it alright right??
  17. This is everything. EDIT: They probably threw a bottle of their "finest" styling gel onto the chain as sabotage. I actually had a friend that use to put that stuff in his hair. eek is all I can say.
  18. I'm sure with Fury being open, this won't happen. But I went on a Tuesday & Wednesday in 11 and then on a Monday & Tuesday in 12, and with the exception of Nighthawk and Rip Roaring Rapids, all lines ranged from walk on [ Afterburn, Hurler, Thunder Road] to 5-10 mins [ Cobra, Cyclone, Intimidator] and they ran two trains on everything with the exception of Carolina Cyclone, they even ran 4 trains on Thunder Road one day each year I was there, the other two days it was one train but both sides open.
  19. When I rode Boss in 2009, I really liked it and thought it ran great. Were the guerstlauer trains as good as PTC's? No. Was it the smoothest wooden coaster in the world? Absolutely not, but most CCI's aren't these days. Still, I didn't quite necessarily understand what seemed like heavy criticism of the ride. It's still one of my top rides which I rank over Ghost Rider (even on a good day) and Tremors at Silverwood. I haven't been on the most elite of wooden coasters but I feel like Boss on a good day can be up near the top. Honestly I think SFStl wooden collection is almost, if not as good as Holidays World. I'd rank The Voyage above all, but I'd take American Thunder, Screaming Eagle & Boss over Legend & especially Raven any day of the week.
  20. I think a CGI in the vein of American Thunder or Thunderhead would be perfect, they're the perfect mix of thrills and fun, while not being to intimidating to people scared of the bigger rides. What a shame CGI isn't in business anymore. I meant GCI, I edited it.
  21. I went to Carowinds in 11 and 12, and spent about $350 both times, they had two day tickets back then for about $65 or $70, I don't know if they still do those.
  22. Obviously a disgruntled Got2B employee that was angry about them using a different train wrap. I just almost choked to death on my Snickers Egg, thanks for that.
  23. I think a GCI in the vein of American Thunder or Thunderhead would be perfect, they're the perfect mix of thrills and fun, while not being to intimidating to people scared of the bigger rides.
  24. It's expensive being an enthusiast, my trip to CP and KI last may cost me over $1,000. Car rental was the bulk of that I'm going to Busch Gardens and Kings dominion this summer, I'm driving though, so I hope gas prices stay like they are. I'm trying to keep my trip under $1,000 if possible.
  25. True, although the one at SFOG gets point for at least looking pretty over the lake, the one in St.Louis is more of an eyesore, both parks would be better off without them, even if they didn't replace them with anything else right away lol.
