  1. Demon Drop at Dorney for me. With Zumanjaro and Supreme Scream (KBF) a close second and third, respectively.
  2. ^ Back row, left side, back against the seat. It wasn't rough, but the vibrations I was getting went up and down my spine and ruined my back for a good portion of the day. If it's one of the smoother SLC's, I shudder to think how awful some of the others might be.
  3. the god awful mind eraser at SFNE. the only positive experience i had when riding it was that it ended.
  4. Zoomerang at Lake Compounce. Won't earn another brand new credit until I ride either Wicked Cyclone or Laff Trakk (dependent on which one opens first)
  5. Looks incredible. Great pictures. Being within 3 hours of SFNE has me licking my chops for the day I get up there and ride this until I pass out.
  6. Great Adventure opening day: April 3, 2015. Although I do have something potentially brewing for February down at Busch Gardens Tampa.
  7. ^ There's been reports that the speakers in the trees surrounding the site still turn on and play the old Castle sound effects, and that people have seen faces in the upper windows of the old Autobahn bumper cars built directly on the Haunted Castle site. I've also heard about the Chiller curse too. Interesting about that is that the track colour's of Chiller were red and blue. The same colours used for the two sides of the Haunted Castle.
  8. Great Adventure is haunted by the victims of the Haunted Castle fire. Theres plenty of stories of strange occurences happening near the site of the fire.
  9. Oh yes. I was stunned at how forceful Montezooma's loop was, especially when going through it backwards. To answer the question; No. The vertical loop isn't going anywhere.
  10. The first coasters that come to mind for me are Boulder Dash, El Toro, and the Coney Island Cyclone
  11. ^ Fair enough, I suppose. Enjoyed the pics, as always. Glad you guys had a nice time in my hometown.
  12. Why so much hate for the Volare? I enjoyed both of the ones I've been on. Hell, I prefer the Volare to one of the dreadful S:UF clones.
  13. Turns out that Full Throttle was my favourite California coaster. Oh, and Boulder Dash for Connecticut.
  14. Great Adventure swats away its nearest competitor, Dorney Park.
  15. Closed out the season yesterday on El Toro.
  16. Whenever I look at Green Lantern at GAdv, and think of the glorious Great American Scream Machine that once stood there. Gets me every time.
  17. I visited the park yesterday as well. When we arrived at noon, a woman at the gate told us the only roller coasters open were Nitro and Green Lantern, and that they were most likely closing early. She was wrong on both accounts. In 2 1/2 hours, we had ourselves quite a day, as the park was a ghost town. Nitro was painful, Bizarro was hauling, but rougher than usual, and El Toro was running like the track was coated in molasses. One thing that shocked me was that the theming on TDK was actually working. Despite the bitter cold and drenching rain, we had a great day to close out 2014. Nitro 3x The Dark Knight 1x Skull Mountain 2x Bizarro 1x Runaway Mine Train 1x El Toro 2x
  18. closing the season out with a bang on Saturday at GAdv
  19. Literally every roller coaster has that. Besides, if theres any ride at GAdv begging for a fresh coat of paint, it's Nitro.
  20. The forecast I usually check, and is accurate more often than not is only calling for a chance of showers in Jackson on Saturday. I can't imagine the park closing early or shutting down rides due to showers. To be honest, the prospect of closing out the season in cold, possibly wet weather has me pretty excited.
  21. The only SLC I've ridden is Mind Eraser at SFNE, and I thought it was awful. Not very rough, but the vibrations wrecked my back for a couple of days after. Arguably the worst coaster in that park. However, I am curious to test out another.
  22. ^ I've done it, but we ate at the Wine Country Trattoria. The reserved area for the show is right down in front, but for me it wasn't really "worth it" because I found World of Color to be very underwhelming. The meal however, was fantastic.
  23. ^ What's going on with the spinning coaster they got approval for? I feel the park needs a nice, non-boomerang steel coaster to complement Boulder Dash.
  24. Visited the park for the first time yesterday. Boulder Dash is a triumph. Front row, back row, middle rows- doesn't matter, this ride does not let up once during the course. On the first ride, my friends and I were laughing so hard from pure joy that we were basically cackling. And once the sun goes down, it's even better. I never thought I'd ride a coaster, especially a woodie, that would threaten El Toro in my rankings, but Boulder Dash is damn close. I need a final spin on El Toro to determine. Also took a couple of laps on Wildcat (a lot of fun) and a go-round on the boomerang (ouch) as well as the dark ride. I understand LC is a smaller park, but man is that ride bogus. The park itself was real nice, with a charming atmosphere that was evident even at night and decorated for Halloween. The free soda is an incredible addition, even though it seems like a waste of money for the park. Finished the night with a sausage from Pink's. It was damn good. Boulder Dash 5x - 10/10 Wildcat 2x - 6/10 Zoomerang 1x - 4/10
  25. ^I last visited in September of this year, and it was down. However, the last time I rode GL, this past June, it was up. Perhaps they were rehabbing it. I haven't been to the park since that day in Sept.
