  1. Barring unforseen circumstances, my friends and I will be there on opening day, April 3. I went last year on opening day and crowds were light, and that was a Saturday, so I'm expecting the same this year.
  2. ^ Can't wait. I've been getting the itch to ride more and more lately. Hopefully these next 7 weeks go by in a flash.
  3. The only RMC/GAdv rumour I heard was last summer. It involved them building a coaster that would interact and have a tunnel through the lake. But it was quickly shot down because the state of New Jersey would never allow such a project to happen
  4. ^ If you really knew anything, you'd at least be able to say something more about a potential new coaster besides its "photo ops". You have no credibility.
  5. THANK YOU! This park does not NEED a coaster. Of course as enthusiasts we pine for one, but most parks would kill for the line-up that GAdv has. The park needs more flats and family rides, and it seems that current management understands that.
  6. Yeah but it's Six flags. They put the same coasters in different parks all the time. Great Adventure hasn't gotten a true new coaster since Toro which Will be 10 years in 2016. They are due and RMC seems to be very popular in Six Flags' company now. I would be suprised if they did not keep the trend going. No other park has El Toro. And none of the RMCs are "the same". If they go RMC I'll gladly eat my words, but I just don't see it happening. Not yet, anyway.
  7. ^ What led you to that conclusion? There's absolutely NO indication as to what the park is getting next year, or if they are getting anything at all. The park hasn't even opened for 2015 yet and people are hung up over some phantom coaster rumour for 2016.
  8. Came here to echo what everyone else has said: go with the Magic Kingdom. It's the best U.S. Disney park.
  9. I give the edge to Brady due to the unparalleled success he's had since becoming the starting QB. In 13 years the Pats have 11 division titles, 9 AFC Championship game appearances, 6 Super Bowl appearances, and 4 Super Bowl wins. That's quite the résumé. Also, Montana had Jerry Rice at his disposal. Outside of the couple of years with Randy Moss, Brady hasn't had a true weapon at WR.
  10. LOL. I didn't even get a full ride on Apocalypse (my train valleyed!) but the little bit of the ride I did experience kicked the crap out of me.
  11. I agree with Boldikus. The presence of El Toro makes me think that GAdv will not be getting an RMC. I believe 2016 will bring the Justice League ride to the park.
  12. Big news surrounding the Giants, both good and bad. Last night, Odell Beckham Jr. took home his well deserved Rookie of the Year award (the numbers he put up after missing 4 games is incredible) And sadly, this morning, the team matriarch, Ann Mara passed away at the age of 85. RIP to her. As for tonight: Go Pats.
  13. ^ You echoed my thoughts on a potential winter event much more eloquently than I did a few pages back. I feel if they attempted this it would be a failure like their previous attempt was.
  14. The only answer is Illuminations. Honourable mention to Fantasmic! I was very underwhelmed by World of Color.
  15. Damn, it looks like my family and I visited Disneyland a year too soon. This all looks great.
  16. Hi everyone. So, I may be visiting Dallas in May, and of course when I learned this, the first thing that popped into my head was "I'm going to the original Six Flags!" But first, a couple of questions: 1. Does the park have daily operations before Memorial Day? Their website isn't showing hours for May yet, and if they do not have daily ops, I can't go. 2. How are crowds usually during this time period? (Of course, if the park doesn't have operating days, this question is worthless.) 3. Any chance Justice League will be finished by this time? Or should I not hold my breath? Thanks in advance for any answers/advice.
  17. Any place can lose its luster if you visit enough. That's why it's key to supplement visits to your home park with trips to other places. I visited Great Adventure 15+ times this past season, but to keep it from getting stale, my friends and I made day trips to Dorney Park, SFNE, and Lake Compounce. We also have the luxury of just hopping over to Brooklyn and jumping on the Cyclone when we get bored. That's what kept GAdv fresh.
  18. They did try it in the early 2000's, but the type of event was much different compared to what is being done at the other Six Flags parks right now. According to what was documented, Winter Lights was basically a drive-through attraction with a few small shops, displays, and a kiddie train ride at the end. I was recently talking to a friend about the idea of them being able to do something like what SFOG is doing for Holiday in the Park. It kind of is possible to do as they do have quite a few attractions that could possibly run in low temperatures. I would bet the main part of Golden Kingdom, part of the Boardwalk, the back part of Frontier Adventures (Bizarro) would remain closed and the rest might be able to run. Don't know about Nitro though, but Black Beard, Skull Mountain, and Dark Knight would be decent coasters to run if this event could happen. I don't know. I just feel a holiday in the park works only at parks that have their full complement of rides running. Sure, it would be nice to go visit the park in late November-early December and ride Skull Mountain a couple of times, but like I said; being in the park and seeing all the main attractions closed would be kind of a bummer. But that's just my opinion.
  19. Haven't been to this park since I'm about 10-11 years old. Definitely plan on making a visit this summer to pick up the new credit
  20. I feel a holiday event at Great Adventure wouldn't be particularly appealing. They tried something previously and it didn't last, so why try and revive it? Going to the park in winter, seeing that skyline, and not being able to ride any of it? No thank you.
  21. ^ If we were to get Namtab, I wouldn't expect an announcement until after it ends it run at SFOG.
  22. ^ Parts have been on-site for a few weeks already.
  23. ^ My guess would be that if it were an in-park event, they would run Skull Mountain and The Dark Knight.
  24. My favourite pastime is listening to some of the foolishness some people think is true. This past summer while in line for Nitro, I heard some kid telling whoever he was with that "they added a new part to El Toro when they knocked down Rolling Thunder."
