Great pictures as always Mike! I've seen some a lot really great pictures of HHN thus far this season from a lot of different people and websites (no offense, yours are easily some of the best) which just makes me think that event looks really really good this year. I'm excited about my visit at the end of the month.

Knoebels Discussion Thread

^So no height restriction? Just weight limits? Interesting... -
Yeah this is one of the most exciting theme park announcements in a while, no idea what the ride system will be at this point but $100+ Million ride hopefully it won't suck! Also, I wonder if they'll create a cool new interactive meet and greet like they've done with Belle and some of the other princesses at Magic Kingdom? That could be really cool as well.

^Yeah, as I was watching that game last nigh all I could think was maybe Atlanta just isn't very good? I mean I know they went to the NFC Championship last year but this year they just don't seem to be doing anything right, almost like there's been a culture change of sorts within that organization. -

This ride just looks like pure fun, I can't wait to get back to Knoebels one of these days and give it a try. I may have missed it somewhere in the past several pages but what is the height restriction for this thing? I've got a 1 year old that's growing like a weed and Knoebels might just have to be in the works a few years from now.... -

Myabe it's just me but I kind of like the look of the unpainted track, has cool rustic sort of look to it. I wonder if they were to run the trains on it how itwould ride. -
What are the chances that Saban bounces for Texas or USC? I mean the guy doesn't have a reason to leave Bama, but he didn't have a reason to leave LSU or Miami either so can't put those 2 programs past him. Also, why isn't Dabo Swinney's name more popular in these coaching searches? I mean Clemson is a nice program but it aint Texas or USC. What he has done at Clemson has been pretty remarkable given that programs's history, he's be pretty high on my list.

^They did play part of that game in a freaking monsoon, not an all out excuse but just saying. I guess most people are probably surprised that the Pats are 4-1 at this point with their offense. And what's up with the Bengals? They can beat the packers and the Patriots but can't beat the Browns? I think that team is good, one of the best in the AFC, but they're gonna have to win on the road at some point. -
^Yeah, that's what I was thinking, maybe building the pier or something for this thing to sit on again is a significant cost? Sounds like a cool project though, I've never been to Long Beach or anything but the more seaside coasters in America the better! Personally I think that every respectable beach town in America should have a wooden roller coaster, make it happen beach towns!

Tokyo Disney Resort Discussion Thread
Hilltopper39 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Yeah that's true. I also doubt that they would build new attractions specifically for the Olympics but from what I understand the economic impact the Olympics has on a city can be HUGE so it wouldn't surprise me if they found some way to capitalize on the event. Maybe they'll at least get a new hotel out of it or something. -
The parade building (or what I always thought was called the parade building) is the large permanent structure back behind Barney section and Men in Black, not the two pop up "tents". It's where Scary tales, Silver Screams, and Hallowed Past has been in recent years. For whatever reason it always felt like whatever was in that building was the next best thing to the sound stage houses (sometimes maybe even better).

Tokyo Disney Resort Discussion Thread
Hilltopper39 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Maybe some of the new Marvel/ Star Wars stuff? I've never heard any real rumors about a 3rd gate but it seems like whenever these resorts start to grow the rumors start to pop up. Also, I wonder the parks if the Olympics coming to Tokyo in 2020 will affect the parks any? I wonder if they'll try to open up a few new attractions or something in time for the event? -

Has there ever been a rumor of a third gate in Tokyo? Seems like people over there can't get enough of Disney so maybe a third property would be manageable in the future? -
I can't stop listening to the new Arcade Fire songs they premiered after SNL this past weekend! [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]

Kind of a weird acquisition, but hey whatever! I mean I doubt this will have any impact on the the parks except for maybe some random appearances here and there but even though I haven't been to a Globe Trotters game in years if they're doing 400 live events a year there's money to be made. Maybe there will be a Harlem Globetrotters: The Ride, or at least a Midway game where if I can bank a basketball off of a trashcan lid, over the ferris wheel, and into the hoop I can win a free warm up suit .

Summlin is a guy that I kind of forgot about. Even though he's done a heck of a job at Texas A&M, once Manziel is gone and Texas is back where they belong A&M will once again the second rate job in that state. I think that program is built to last but it will always be #2 behind Texas in that state no matter what they do. USC however is a whole different story......
-
So who are some of the early favorites for the USC jabs, you heard any names yet Joey? Should be an interesting off season with the USC and potentially Texas jobs both open. Those are both still really good jobs that will pay someone a lot of money so it should be interesting to see who is considered. I really can't think of any "hot young up and coming coaches" in the world of college football like there has been in the past. Chris Peterson at Boise State is a guy whose name always comes up but he never even seems remotely interested. Maybe Texas or USC is the job he's been waiting for...

Looks like you had a great time! Every time I see a report that has some kind of menu for food I can't help but do the Yen to dollar conversion and it still amazes me how relatively "cheap" some of the stuff at the Tokyo parks is. Pork sandwich with french fries and a drink for 900 yen, or about $10? I feel like that meal would be about $15 in Orlando. How do some of the sit down restaurants compare? Again, thanks for the awesome report, I now want to get to Tokyo worse than ever. One of these days......
