  4. The CDC has recommended that gatherings of more than 50 people should be cancelled for at least the next eight weeks. If that is the case I would expect most if not all parks will likely be extending closures or further delaying openings. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/large-events/mass-gatherings-ready-for-covid-19.html
  5. Cedar Fair has released a statement via email. As of right now all parks are still planned to open as scheduled. What ride/coaster disappointed you the most in 2019? Steel Curtain. It's a fun ride but not on the level many hyped it to be. 12. You're at Great Adventure. You play that racist-ish gong game and win a one hour ERT session for you and your friends on ONE coaster of your choice. But damn! El Toro, Kingda Ka and Nitro are all down! So you ride... Batman: The Ride. 13. What is the last coaster that changed your top 10? Skyrush at Hersheypark. 14. Most recent park food you ate. Can't remember for sure. 15. 16. The 2020 operating schedule has been released. https://www.carowinds.com/explore/calendar-and-hours
  17. Can't remember exactly, at least several years ago. When was the last time you went to a beach?
  18. They've removed November and December from the hours page so I'm guessing it was just a mistake. Didn't expect Winterfest this year anyway as all the other Cedar Fair parks announced Winterfest a year in advance. Also noticed on the calendar that Closing Day is on a Saturday this year instead of the usual Sunday, wonder why that is?
  19. I doubt any coasters would be operating during Winterfest if it were to happen. I was at the park a few years ago on a 30-degree Haunt night in late October, Renegade and Steel Venom were the only coasters operating. No idea what the low temperature limit is, but considering nighttime temperatures in late November and December are typically well below 30 degrees, I don’t see it happening.
  20. ^ I wouldn’t look into it too much, Cedar Fair uses that advertising language for most of their parks.
  21. Hoping to take a trip up to Canada's Wonderland sometime this summer if circumstances allow. Need some trip planning advice in case it's able to happen. 1) Looking for recommendations for a moderately cheap hotel - I'm okay with something simple like a Super 8 or Motel 6 as long as it's in a safe area. 2) Would prefer not to rent a car due to my age. Is there any way to take public transportation to or near the park, or would I mainly be stuck with taxi/Uber/Lyft? 3) I've heard that the park is usually busy every day during summer, much like Cedar Point. If I plan on spending two days at the park, is that enough time to ride all coasters and interesting flats without Fast Lane Plus, or should I plan on getting one anyway? 4) Any other interesting things to see/do and in or around Toronto?
  22. Granted, the park grounds are open to walk around but no rides or attractions will be open. I wish my local bowling alley maintained its equipment better.
  23. Monster Jam: Thunder Alley is coming to Carowinds from March 21 through April 19. This pretty much confirms March 21 as Opening Day. https://www.carowinds.com/play/events/monster-jam-thunder-alleyk
  24. Didn't see this thread posted yet so figured I'd start it. What parks are you planning on visiting in 2020? Definitely Carowinds (Place of employment) Kings Dominion Busch Gardens Williamsburg Dollywood Six Flags over Georgia Kings Island Cedar Point Maybe Canada's Wonderland Holiday World Kentucky Kingdom Six Flags Great Adventure Nickelodeon Universe (American Dream Mall) Hersheypark Six Flags America Unlikely but Hopeful Six Flags Magic Mountain Knott's Berry Farm
  25. Don't think I've ever actually been sick on a ride. When was the last time you ate at Chick-fil-A?
