  1. Once again, Six Flags refuses to invest in anything noteworthy at The Great Escape. I don't understand why they keep hanging on to the park if they don't want it to be able to compete .
  2. Yeah, it really isn't much, but the park did just get Goliath, so this event is perfect for the park. Bringing back some of the original rides from the park will bring back some charm from Great America's early years, and I don't think adding charm to a park is a bad thing at all.
  3. Wicked Cyclone looks to be an amazing coaster. It seems to have lots of awesome airtime, and the inversions look like they'll be intense. Some enthusiasts might complain about the addition of the inversions, but the 200-degree stall looks great, and also, who doesn't like a good zero-G roll? Within the park, I think it could quite possibly end up being better than Bizarro, but I could be wrong. I'm not sure if I like this or Twisted Colossus better. Both of them will be insane. RMC never fails to amaze me. I think that anyone that gets to ride this beast is in for a treat.
  4. At first I had my doubts that RMC would be able to make a masterpiece out of Colossus, but I guess I've been proven wrong. I'm impressed with how they were able to make what were the original long turnarounds into thrilling parts. Although, the best sounding parts to me are that you basically traverse the course twice in one cycle, and the fact that it has 18 airtime moments. Also, it's cool that they're bringing the high-five element to the US (correct me if I'm wrong). If they sync up the coasters to run together, it will be a much more interesting experience. Even though a new coaster isn't really what Magic Mountain needs right now, I think it will a fantastic addition to the park. I wish I lived closer to LA...
  5. I've never been on Hades 360, but I hear that it is a brutally rough ride, so be prepared . Also, if you're suggesting that VF should get an inverting woodie, as great as that would be, we desperately need a steel coaster with inversions first. Also, if VF ever does get an inverting woodie, I would much rather go RMC over Gravity Group.
  6. Maybe it's a cool new coaster concept. If it is, I'll be excited to see what it is.
  7. Yeah, Worlds of Fun seems to be doing this just so they can say they added something for 2015. I wouldn't say that WOF is a neglected park, but I think it's getting to the point where they're due for a new thrilling roller-coaster. An X-Flight sized wing coaster would be perfect for WOF because the GP would eat it up, and wing coasters are lots of fun. I don't see a gigacoaster at WOF in the near future because I don't think the park is large enough yet to justify one. If CF gets it's first RMC woodie soon, WOF might not be a bad choice for it, but then again, they already have Prowler, so it probably won't happen. I just hope that this park can get something good soon.
  8. If by updating you mean Iron Horsing it (unlikely), I'd be all for that, but otherwise, any other money invested in Excalibur would probably be a waste of money in my opinion.
  9. I know that, but I'm just surprised that the original reaction was so negative. Even though this park is primarily a zoo, people will usually eat up anything resembling a roller coaster. Couldn't agree with you more, Robb. All of this internet negativity is just another reason why I'm losing hope in humanity .
  10. Got this picture from CoasterFusion. More Premier Rides track is on site at BGW. Yep, it's pretty much confirmed that it's a S:UF clone.
  11. Valleyfairzone pointed out something interesting. VF's website says it is having a Pig Roast on Saturday, Sept. 13, but it has a picture of Excalibur next to it. Hmm...
  12. I just checked the weather averages for Muskegon, and based on what I saw, I can see why being open in October wouldn't work. However, I also think that the park should at least be able to open on weekends through the end of September. 66 and 48 are the respective average high and low temperatures for the last weekend in September, so I feel like closing on the weekend after Labor Day is wasting an opportunity. Even if there is a little extra breeze from the lake, considering that it's Michigan, the people there are probably used to the cold. Just my thoughts...
  13. Now I'm torn on whether it's sitdown/floorless Mantis or RMC Mean Streak. Either one would be great. My guess is that both of those will eventually happen, with one of them coming next year. I also predict that whatever comes next year will also get renamed King James (assuming they're really serious about that).
  14. So, that wasn't a major accident in my opinion, but still, definitely a scary situation.
  15. April Fools? The Easter Bunny? I really have no idea. Maybe he is hinting at what the name of the new coaster could be. Maybe the coaster will be named after something April-related, but I can't think of what it would be. VF certainly wouldn't name a coaster after the Easter Bunny .
  16. ^ Sounds like it's hinting towards sitdown/floorless trains on Mantis. Would be very happy if that happened .
  17. Great trip report! Worlds of Fun looks like a park I'd enjoy very much. I'm not incredibly far away from KC, so I should get down there one of these days.
  18. I was just on Kolmarden's Facebook page looking at the comments of reactions to Wildfire from April, and apparently, people over there aren't very happy about Wildfire. Everyone there is complaining that they aren't spending money on the animals because of Wildfire. The park responded saying that their first priority is still the animals, but that's not my main point. How on Earth can these people possibly be mad about a roller coaster like this?! Even though these people may not be aware that RMC coasters are mind-blowing, I thought that they would eat this up. I just don't get it.
  19. ^ I guess you could do that, but everyone seems to be forgetting that Valleyfair already has a hypercoaster (Wild Thing). If VF was to get a B&M mega coaster, it would probably be a giga coaster, but they would have to build it at the west end of the park since that is the where the height limit is not in effect. Excalibur and Thunder Canyon would definitely need to be removed for it. Considering space issues, it would likely have a twister layout as opposed to an out-and-back one, so it might resemble Intimidator 305 more than Leviathan or Fury 325. However, I'm pretty much just dreaming right now because I don't think a Gigacoaster will happen for at least 10 more years, probably longer. Something with inversions is what we need next.
  20. -People that scream before the coaster even leaves the station. It means it's going be even worse when the ride starts. -Rain/weather shutting down rides. Yeah, it's uncontrollable, but still frustrating. -Ride ops stapling me. It's uncomfortable, and it kills airtime. -Couples having PDAs in line. No one wants to look at that. -One-train operation. That is all.
  21. That's what's making me a bit doubtful about a new coaster at VF in 2016/2017. Valleyfair is due for a new coaster, but so are Dorney, WOF, and MA, and if this one coaster per year trend continues (Banshee was the only new CF coaster this year), then we may have to wait even longer.
  22. If MA has such a high profit margin, why don't they invest any of that money back into the park?
  23. If anyone has been here lately, has there been any sign of land clearing or construction preparations? They desperately need something. If this park ends up going two straight years without anything new, then that would lead me to believe that CF simply doesn't care about MA. Although, it already looks like CF doesn't care: no drop tower, no live entertainment, no Haunt event, and a 3.5 month operating season. I'm not trying to down on the park, but it must be a miserable park if it's your local park.
  24. Yesterday at VF, I overheard someone say that you can touch the rails on Excalibur. Really? Even if was possible, it would be a great way to get yourself hurt.
  25. French speaking donut. Would you rather ride a Chinese knockoff SLC for 10 hours and win a million dollars, or ride your favorite coaster once for free?
