  1. It's finally the end of 2020. I propose a toast. Let's raise our cups; let's raise em high! We'll toast its death and watch it die. Good fuggin riddance to ya and may your dick get caught in the door on the way out.
  2. To me, WW84 felt a lot like Iron Man 2. Both films were overstuffed with more than the story really knew what to do with to give any of them a proper resolution. It lacked a proper focus and felt like there was some more studio interference this time around which led to massive plot holes and leaps in logic (such as exactly why/how Chris Pine is back and the ramifications of such). It also weakened Diana's character by making her a starry-eyed waif who was forever crying over a dead guy. Gag me. And as a fan of the Cheetah character, I was disappointed with how poorly the character was used. Again reminded of IM2 with a lackluster final battle when the antagonist is at their most powerful. Loved the final Cheetah design and wish we got more of it. Though at the same time, I can't help but be reminded of the terrible design of the cats in the recent film. #Releasethebuttholecut I also watched Soul before WW84 and it was infinitely the better film. The animation was spec-f*cking-tacular and I loved how deep and mature the film was willing to be. While at times I found it too similar to Inside Out (also directed by Pete Docter), I don't necessarily find that a bad thing as I loved that film as well. I was also a little surprised to see that Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross (most notably of the band Nine Inch Nails) composed the score for the film as Jazz is not the style of music I'd associate them with.
  3. One of my brother's go-to exclamations is "Cheese and Crackers." So for the past week, I've had a wrapped present in the fridge for him. Inside: a box of Ritz crackers and a chunk of mild cheddar cheese. I wish I'd gotten his reaction on video.
  4. I know Spielberg's directing a new adaptation of West Side Story, but having him involved in Wicked too would be amazing as well.
  5. ^While I don't think I contracted it until later that week while I was in Branson, it was still probably for the best. Stay healthy, both of you. So now I should be mostly fine until I can get the vaccine.
  6. Both me and my mother had COVID a couple weeks ago. While that in and of itself is rant-worthy; while I was quarantining, I had some Halloween Dove Chocolate. And since I had COVID, I couldn't taste the damn thing. We have both recovered and I am back at work, BTW.
  7. How is that tower able to do that? The S&S towers I operated couldn't even do that in maintenance mode. And since I haven't said it yet; me in the fart room:
  8. I've had strangers literally tell me they were going to grab onto me if they got scared during the haunt. I remember one time these teenage girls I had just met five minutes prior grabbed onto me and held on for the entire haunt. It was awkward but I felt kinda bad for them. Conga lines suck for the actors, too. You can't always scare everyone in a conga line. They absolutely drain the energy of the actors. I've worked a contact haunt so one of the things I like to do is grab onto the back of someone's shirt like that and pretend I'm a part of the group. One time, I got between a husband and wife--the wife was in front so I grabbed onto the back of her shirt and she grabbed onto the front of mine. I let go of her shirt and let her lead me on for a little while. I was considering seeing how far she would take me before realizing, but since I didn't want to leave my scene, I whispered in her ear, "Can I have my shirt back, please?"
  9. Dank Farrik! Another Star Wars physical portrayer has become one with the Force. Jeremy Bulloch, who was the physical portrayal of Boba Fett in the original trilogy has died at 75 from Parkinson's.
  10. Ideal: June/July: 2.5 days each at BGW/KD Any time: Nickelodeon Universe (MN) Summer: Valleyfair (may get season pass depending on special event schedule) November/December: 10 days in Central Florida including WDW/UOR/BGT/SWO Realistic: June/July: 1 day each at BGW/KD--reduced trip likely due to job change/move to new apartment and not likely to get as much time off as I'd like. If either/both of these parks don't open then one of the following: Lagoon Kentucky Kingdom/Holiday World/Beech Bend Wild Card Any time: Nickelodeon Univere's Log Chute AKA one of the best futhermuggin Log flumes in the world November/December: 10 days in Central Florida including WDW/UOR/BGT/SWO--This trip is happening this year one way or another before dad's Alzheimer's gets too bad.
  11. The free swinging cable on that Loop-O-Plane has gotta be the most "Hold my beer" moment at a US theme park. If only the park was as committed to opening/operating rides as you were to riding them.
  12. Great report! Reminds me that I need to start on my report of this park. Because of how much a comics nerd I am, I can tell you that this Batmobile took its design from the Video Game Injustice: Gods Among Us and subsequent comic series.
  13. ^ I was debating whether or not to post this burger since I know you're not the biggest fan of eggs on burgers, Bill, but I love the idea of the burger too much. The cheese isn't on top of the patty--but on top of the bacon. The only other time I've seen this done is at the cafeteria at the community college I attended (where the burgers were made to order and were actually delicious--some of the best burgers I've had actually). While the cheese didn't melt all that well, it was still a delicious burger--especially the bacon.
  14. Those are some great shots of Poltergeist. I remember it wasn't an easy attraction to photograph so to have some awesome shots like that is sweet.
  15. David Prowse, 85 due to COVID-19 complications. He helped train Christopher Reeve for his role as Superman. But he was also the man behind the mask in the Original Trilogy--the physical portrayal of Darth Vader. (James Earl Jones did the voice) May the Force be with you.
  16. The definition of chaotic good probably has a picture of you with a pint of your favorite beer as an example, that's why.
  17. I dropped nearly 2.5 pounds in the past week which included 4 days at amusement parks. While my goal has never strictly been weight loss, it's good to see what kind of progress one can make if you spend a lot of time walking around parks.
  18. Wave Breaker was open as of last Sunday 11/15 as evidenced by how many times I rode it.
  19. Pandemonium at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. I got a car to myself and spun pretty well.
  20. Iron Rattler at night. With sunglasses on. Dispatched during the "park is now closed" spiel was playing. Why don't more people talk about the night rides on this thing? Holy crap. And I have some Outlaw Run night rides to look forward to later this week as well.
  21. ^I thoroughly enjoyed Dare Devil Dive. You know how SF ride ops tell guests which ride to go ride next? While waiting to board Joker, the op recommended DDD. Obviously I thought he was playing true to his attraction's name and Joking around. So on my way to an Iron Rattler Flash Pass reservation, I see activity around the attraction. There are riders on the thing! Some people were just standing around the entrance, so I asked the ride op at the entrance and they said the ride actually was open TODAY ONLY (11/14) for Technical Rehearsal and that I could get in line. There is some very excellent theming within the attraction's queue. But, there are some overly aggressive sound effects that caused a couple people to leave the queue. The attraction itself: The added elevation of the tower does add something to the ride--especially when hanging inverted at the top of the tower. And the flame towers around the perimeter function as near-miss elements. I hope Six Flags brings these rides to more parks. The park did have a sign notifying guests when additional technical rehearsals/soft-opens would be. As for the crowds, it was probably the best decision for you to stay home, Bert. Crowds everywhere with little social distancing (despite my best efforts at times) and rampant mask non-compliance. While it would have been fun to meet up, let's just say that I'm impatiently waiting for the day when my blood no longer boils at the sight of nostrils. And I have no idea how controversial this is but: Iron Rattler>Wonder Woman.
  22. I'm in line for Dare Devil Dive in technical rehearsal. This is not a drill. I repeat: this is not a drill!
  23. The person sitting next to me on a flight was chewing a piece of gum for most of the flight so they would get out of the mask rule because they were technically "eating." On the same flight, I flew directly over Carowinds and couldn't get my phone out in time.
