  1. Do you know if the overflow lot was being used, the far lot on the other side of the road near where you turn off the main road to enter the road to the park? I was about 5 minutes away from the park today and was going to stop in for about 30 minutes for a few rides on Talon but didn't get a chance to but I figured it was crowded.
  2. They were going to build hotel on site but the new management cancelled those plans.
  3. ^ I have always thought someone should make one of those giant indoor play structures for all ages. I remember thinking they were a lot of fun when I was younger and they are great for exercise since you are running around and crawling in tubes but it seems they are all just for kids.
  4. Sounds like operations are horrible. How can they run 1 car on a coaster that only seats 2 - 4 people?
  5. Because Kingda Ka being closed makes all the other lines longer.
  6. Sea Serpent on Tuesday at Morey's
  7. It opened for a little bit in June after the initial closing in May but it has been closed since the end of June or early July.
  8. Hopefully Hershey sometime next week. It was going to be Morey's but I was there yesterday (and it was nice to go to another park besides Dorney and Great Adventure this season!)
  9. Write a letter to the park. Comapnies usually respond to written letters with a few exceptions.
  10. I have only been on Steel Force. It is a fun ride but I wish it did more than just the hills and the 1 double? helix. I really like Nitro a lot more because it has all those curved turns and the hammerhead.
  11. Not to mention it is a lot bigger than the typical kiddie or family coaster. RCDB says it has a 56 foot drop (though it isn't steep at all).
  12. How does it get the park more money though? After spending $20 on a pass and 5 rides it is unlikely someone is going to pay $6 for another ride or pay $20 for another 5 rides and will probably just stop riding the coaster after 5 rides rather than spend more money. Maybe they should offer the $20 pass with 5 rides but offer an option for more money $25 or $30 for unlimited rides.
  13. I think during the week in September will still be crowded, since it is the last week of summer vacation for most kids and people will want to get 1 last trip in.
  14. I was there too, so much traffic with the Phillies game going on at the same time but the concert was great. It was also good that they did a lot of older songs since I don't like the new album as much as their 90's albums.
  15. Hercules is one of the worst coasters I have been on. The turn after the first drop was brutal and is one of the only coasters to give me a headache. I rode in 2000 so that might be why since I hear when it first opened it was a much better ride. Hydra may not be a top tier ride but it is still a lot better than Hercules was.
  16. He was wrong, it was open for most of June. My last ride on was on June 24th.
  17. Looks like I will never get the chance to try the coaster. I really hope the replacement isn't a flyer. If you are too big for the kiddie coaster and don't like inversions or big coasters there are now no coasters to ride.
  18. I am curious to hear what rides were closed. Many rides are sbno which might appear to be closed just for the day to the average guest.
  19. I like the new additions, the only thing is the horn is so annoying since you can hear it throughout the ride. It is great riding with other people and watching them getting scared with the subway car at the end with the clowns.
  20. Favorite - B&M Hyper Clamshell, it really doesn't get in the way or is annoying Worst - Pinfari OTSR's, horrible and uncomfortable http://cache.rcdb.com/pictures/picmax/p17751.jpg
  21. I went on a Sunday in August in 2006, Talon 40 minutes, Hydra 15 minutes, Steel Force 15 minutes, Wild Mouse looked to be an hour (didn't wait). I will never go on a Sunday in the summer again.
  22. Great photos, the park looks like it has a lot of ride variety with something for everyone. It's too bad they also have Fly Me To The Moon, that is the worst simulator I have been on and wasn't happy to see Great Adventure had it for a 2nd year in a row.
  23. Same, I'll be going back sometime later this month or August (which I know is asking for trouble) to use my Funatics Bring a Friend Free ticket, otherwise I am sticking with Dorney until Labor Day is over. I'd rather ride Bizarro over Hydra, Nitro over Steel Force, Dark Knight over Wild Mouse etc. but I'll take a 0 - 5 minute wait for Hydra over a 45+ minute wait for Bizarro or a 0 - 10 minute wait for Steel Force over a 30+ minute wait for Nitro anyday. Dorney just never seems to get crowds on the ride side on weekdays.
  24. That's how I feel as well, if I drive past Sea Isle City, I'll stop to get the credit but otherwise it's not worth it. I remember seeing plans for the park, showing it was small with not many rides and almost all kiddie rides and one of the higher ups was reported as saying, no major thrill rides because they don't to keep it for kids and not teens. If that is the case, I hope there is no maximum height for the coaster but I am guessing there isn't since Gillian's in Ocean City lets adults ride all 3 coasters.
