Walt Disney World Quest: Magical Racing Tour
YoshiFan replied to Erik Johnson's topic in Random, Random, Random
That could be, especially if it might have been released after the Playstation version (if it wasn't, I have no idea why I didn't get it for Dreamcast since the graphics must have been better) -
August 29th, I'm not looking forward to it because usually there is always next summer to look forward to but this is my last year of school.

A secret while riding The Hulk today
YoshiFan replied to Erik Johnson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The crowds will probably pick up again soon. Since in a few weeks the northern states go back to school and people will be taking those week or two of summer vacation trips. We had planned to go to Orlando the last week of August and when we made reservations in Disney, the restaurants we wanted to go to were either completely booked or they had 1 or 2 reservations left. I expected that at Christmas but not at the end of the summer. -
Walt Disney World Quest: Magical Racing Tour

I have it for Playstation. It was a fun game but I agree the computer cheated too much. I would be in 1st place for almost all of the 3 entire laps and I would get hit with a weapon (I hated the frog one where you became a frog) and lose the race. I also didn't understand why they didn't have more "main" Disney characters like Mickey, Pluto etc. I thought that using the ride vehicles instead of go karts was a great and clever idea. I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel with better graphics and more attractions. Another similar game I like is Mickey's Speedway USA for N64. The tracks aren't Disney World related but it was made by Rare and it's a great game. It is a Mario Kart clone but a good one. I also want to see an update to the NES game Adventures In The Magic Kingdom which was one of my favorite games back when the NES was the current system. -

Storybook Land still is open, in fact they are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year and it still gets crowds (every time I drive by it, parking is in the overflow lot). I never got a chance to get the credit there since unless they had an old coaster years ago, the coaster they have now (Bubbles, http://www.rcdb.com/pd927.htm) opened after the last time I was there in 2000. -

If it does end up being built, I hope they can come up with trains that have better capacity than the ones at PKI and PCW. -
Coaster, the game by Disney.

3 1/2" disk: http://www.8bitclassics.com/images/3.5%20disk.jpg 5 1/4" disk: http://www.8bitclassics.com/images/5.25%20disk.jpg I hated the 5 1/4" disks, they were so fragile. I had to use them in middle school and that was in the mid 1990's (just shows how out of date my school district was) -
Me and my Family had quite a Rude Awakening this Morning

That happened to me last week. The fire alarm went off at 7:23 a.m. and we rushed outside but it was a false alarm. -

I don't know if it takes a lot of practice or what but I have never seen anyone use a skimboard and really go further than a few feet. The concept looks cool but I wish there was an easy way to at least skim the waves, 15 or 20 feet at once.

Animal Crossing...anyone still play?
YoshiFan replied to Erik Johnson's topic in Random, Random, Random
When I got the game, I played it almost everyday for 6 months then I just got bored with it. I guess I got tired of running around the village, and talking and doing errands for the animals. I plan to get the DS version and I'm hoping I'll start enjoying the series again. -
Knoebels, Dorney and SFGAdv
YoshiFan replied to Sir Clinksalot's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, the traffic in NJ can definetly be a factor. It's well past Labor Day at that point so a lot of the people going to the shore and back won't be on the road but there are still some that continue to go even through October (and a some shore towns have activities in later September) so it could be a disaster trying to go through NJ knowing you have to get to the airport (not to mention that I-95 can also be bad near the Philadelphia airport). -
Coaster, the game by Disney.
YoshiFan replied to EpcotLova's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Actually, they did have 5 people rate the coaster, just not Disney Characters like in the new game. I used to play Coaster all the time years ago. What I thought was cool but unrealistic was if you held down the mouse button, you could accelerate the coaster so if you made too big of a hill, you could still get over the hill. I think it also had the Matterhorn track layouts (but just the track with no theming) -
Who found Manhattan Express rough?

$15 for 1 ride is ridiculous. I thought $6.xx for 1 coaster ride at Wildwood was bad. -
Knoebels, Dorney and SFGAdv
YoshiFan replied to Sir Clinksalot's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think that the best way to go to all 3 parks is to do Knoebels and Dorney on Saturday and Great Adventure on Sunday. The water park is closed at that point at Dorney so I don't think it will be that crowded and you should be able to have enough time to go on the rides you want at both parks. Great Adventure always seems to have some lines regardless of when it is so I would try to spend the most time there. It might be difficult to get all the coasters in at Great Adventure though. I can't think of any other major parks that are worth going to with such limited time. There are some nice parks like Dutch Wonderland and a lot of sea shore parks like the 2 in Ocean City, NJ but none are major and I don't think they are worth going to over a major park. It's a shame that Hershey closes for the regular season so early compared to the other parks. -
I started off with Information Science and Technology but switched to Accounting when I realized it wasn't what I thought it would be (I was hoping it would be application based but it was a lot more programming which I hated). I don't like accounting much either (it's too tedious) but I am sticking with that major since I am already graduating later than I should be since I changed majors once.

I don't think the games of today can even compare to the games released during the NES and Genesis and SNES time periods. I think the problem is that gaming has become too mainstream and there are just less and less different types of games out there. It seems like every game out now is either a sequel to a popular franchise or has a popular license to go along with the game. It annoys me to no end that games like Jet Set Radio Future on XBox won't even sell and people won't even take the game for free (when it was bundled with the XBox, many people bought the system, and traded the game in right before they even left the stores!) while a garbage game like Enter The Matrix can go on to sell over a million copies. Now it seems like games are graphics and popularity first and then good gameplay second. Other than some games like Katamari Damacy and DDR, there are very few games I will continue to play from this generation of gaming (PS2, XBox, Gamecube era). I also don't like the way gaming is headed with these monopolies forming and not having the choice in games. It's the end of the summer and that means new football games. No longer can I have a variety to choose from because EA bought the rights to the NFL. I also think that will hurt gaming because with no competition, what reason is there for companies to improve quality. And this trend is only going to continue as it already happened with the MLB and somewhat with the NBA. I actually find myself enjoying old sets of games on new systems like Midway Arcade Treasures, which has 24 old arcade games on 1 disc. That way I can enjoy the old games without having to have all my old systems hooked up.

Those coasters are awesome. It must have been a lot of work to get the track just right to get the coaster to go through those kind of inversions. I had problems just getting my coaster to go through the standard design (the one from the instruction booklet) without stopping.

SF Great Adventure (and other parks)
YoshiFan replied to Real's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
At Great Adventure, it's buy 1 get 1 free with a can of Coke I think on Tuesday through Thursday. They also have $20 off coupons at Wendy's for Great Adventure (weekdays only) or $10 off weekends. Burger King has Dorney coupons as well I think for $9 off. I think Subway has the same coupons too. -

Defunct Thrill And Kiddie Rides
YoshiFan replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Dutch Wonderland - Old Engine 99 Dorney Park - Water Scooters, some plane ride, not sure of the name but it was like the Golden Zephyr at DCA. Storybook Land (NJ) - Tin Lizzie Cars, Flying Jumbo's (they have a new similar ride now but it's different than the old one) Hershey Park - Kiddie Bumper Cars Busch Gardens Williamsburg - Not sure of the name but it was a pirate ship flat ride (not a swinging ship) -
Favorite Dark Ride
YoshiFan replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I like dark rides. After going on thrill rides all day, it's nice to go on a slow moving, relaxing ride that is still interesting. I agree it's too bad that many parks got rid of them, since although some new ones are being built, it seems like there are less and less of them around. -
Steel Dragon 2000, Will it ever reopen?
YoshiFan replied to CP_fan_boy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't think it will open again in its current location. I think the only way it will run again is if it gets moved to another park (out of Japan).
