Costco is one of my favorite stores. The $1.50 Soda and Hot Dog combo is an awesome deal (needless to say, I go there for lunch a lot)

Stitch's Great Escape
YoshiFan replied to Stitch's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I never went on Alien Encounter but I did not like Stitch's Great Escape. It just was that interesting to me. Sit in a chair, a restraint lowers and you sit there in the dark with the audio-animatronic Stich in the center moving around. When it ended, most people were saying stuff like, "that's it?", "what was the point?" and other phrases like that. When I go back to the Magic Kingdom, it's one attraction I will definetly be skipping. -
That's cool it will get a web browser. Now all Sony needs to do is release the system without all those useless accessories in the "value pack" and I'll get one.

GTA: San Andreas Now Rated 'Adults Only'!
YoshiFan replied to Meteornotes's topic in Random, Random, Random
I hated that Doom arguement where people say Doom can teach you how to kill. Like using a keyboard to move and fire a gun will really help you kill someone. It really angers me that these politicians are complaining about these games (which they probably don't even care about and just want to win support of parents), when there are so many more important issues to deal with. -

that's why I would play it! curses! I was waiting for the game to drop in price before I went out to buy it. so Best Buy is out..does Circuit City or EB Games still carry it? can it be purchased online? ~Allison "96% completed with Vice City (stupid stunt jumps)" Y2K~ From what I heard on a gaming site, EB will still sell it. They pulled it off the shelves but supposedly you have to ask for it to get it. I'm not sure if that's EB policy or only some stores are doing it though. -
I like Burger King the best and McDonald's the worst. In my area, we are more limited in fast food selection (Hardee's/Carl Jr.'s, Sonic, Jack In The Box, Fudruckers among others are non existant). I don't think KFC is that ghetto, especially since the ones near me are being remodeled to look a lot nicer and have A&W Burger's as well.

GTA: San Andreas Now Rated 'Adults Only'!
YoshiFan replied to Meteornotes's topic in Random, Random, Random
I thought the same thing at first and wasn't even going to get San Andreas (thought GTA 3 was ok, never played Vice City). But San Andreas has become one of my favorite games this generation of games. I thought it was awesome because the open ended gameplay. Tired of the missions? Well then go play firefighter or paramedic instead or go to a low rider event or go to the par and play a game of pool. It was one of the best 45 hours I spent playing a game. I do agree that the reason it sells so well is because of the controversy but IMO there is a great game under the controversy. -

The sex mini game was taken out of the final game and because of that people are upset that the sex mini game itself exists and are also angry that Rockstar didn't take the program code off the game disc and that it slipped by the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating's Boad). The same thing happened with Tiger Woods '99 on Playstation 1 where there was a hidden South Park episode left on the disc casuing all copies of the game to be recalled. But, yeah it's the sex that people are upset about. Even BMX XXX which didn't have sex but had topless women BMX riders caused an issue so much that Sony forced Acclaim to take out all nudity in the game for the Playstation 2 version (the Gamecube and XBox versions were not censored). I think some stores like Best Buy refused to carry the XBox and Gamecube versions because of that -

In the game, the main character (CJ) can date girls. You take the girls on dates by picking them up and driving them to a restaurant, a bar or sometimes they want to go on a drive by shooting. As you take the girl on dates, your progress meter increases and once you reach 100% you get a reward. There was originally going to be a sex mini game where you have sex with the girl. No private parts are shown in the game but it does show them having sex (CJ still has his clothes on). This was pulled from the game but still left in the code which can now be accessed with a simple cheat code and cheating device. People were upeset about the other stuff in the game but this seems to be the biggest concern. They also weren't happy that the game "promotes" gang life (the first and last parts of the game are about living in LA and being part of a gang) I think the problem is that people in general still see games as a kids form of entertainment even though it has been shown over half of gamers are over the age of 18 yet people still have a problem with games being made for adults. -

From what I understand, the code for it was still in the game, just that Rockstar decided to take it out of the game but left the code there. All you need to do for the PS2 version to access the mini game is use the Action Replay cheat device, nothing that modders or hackers did and all you need is a regular copy of the game. I think it's crazy the game was pulled. The game was rated Mature to begin with so it was only intended to be played by those 17 and older in the first place. There isn't a huge difference between 17 and 18. And the whole reasoning just seems messed up to me. Killing police officers, running over and shooting anyone you want, stealing cars, breaking into house, going into a strip club for a lap dance is all ok but the second there is this sex mini game which doesn't even show anything, it causes this whole concern. -
If they are protesting Busch Gardens, isn't going to Adventure Island going against the whole point of the protest since it's the same company? "On Tuesday, she checked out Adventure Island and said she was assured that her daughter would face no roadblocks. So, on Thursday, Jessica will use her hands to walk up the steps at Adventure Island. At times, her mother might carry her."

Pinfari Coasters
YoshiFan replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I voted they're ok. I have only been on a ZL42 (Looping) at Ocean City, NJ. It was a short ride but the drop was ok for a small coaster and the loop was good. What I don't get is why some of their non looping coasters have OSTR's, like the one in Wildwood, NJ -
I used them for the first time last year when I had an annual pass and I didn't like them. Not so much for the privacy concern (I wasn't happy about it but not that upset like the people in the article was) but the fact that they didn't seem to work to well. It would happen at least every once out of 2 or 3 times that it wouldn't work and the employee just had to over-ride the system anyway. I saw it happening to others as well where the scanners didn't work and they had to over ride it for them as well. They claimed it was the heat that causes them to malfunction.

I went to both MGM and Animal Kingdom the first year they opened and I hated both parks when I first visited them. MGM I thought was a disaster, I think only 2 rides (Great Movie Ride and The Backlot Tour). I hated Animal Kingdom even more. They had what, 4 or 5 attractions (not counting the animal walkthroughs), and each had ridiculous lines and then they closed the boat rides to have even less attractions. And the 2002 expansion was great , adding what is basically another Dumbo ride and a set of coasters that you can find at many parks now. They are still my least favorite WDW parks but I have grown to like MGM more but I wouldn't even miss going to WDW and skipping Animal Kingdom. Despite what Disney says, I still see it as a zoo with some rides and attractions thrown in, which I can see at home (Philadelphia Zoo and I can ride Primevial Whirl in Atlantic City, NJ without the Dino Theme)

They have it for Playstation 2 in the US so you could always get that if you have the system and like the game enough to buy it. Also: http://www.ddrfreak.com/locations/locations.php?action=displayLocation&locationID=232 That arcade in LA has the arcade version (it's the Taiko game in the listing). A lot of arcades in the LA area have the Japanese music games that are so popular. Unfortunately, Konami and Namco don't seem to realize that people in the US want these games too and won't release the music games in the arcades in the US other than DDR.

Hershey Park in Sept
YoshiFan replied to CoasterJunkie's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think 1 1/2 days should be enough time for Hershey. Hershey rarely has really long lines (usually nothing is over an hour long even for the popular rides) and although there are a lot of great rides, I think you should be able to go on every ride you want with that much time. I was there last September and most of the coasters were either walk ons or 5 - 15 minute waits. The longest line I saw all day was Storm Runner which looked to be about 30 - 40 minutes (didn't ride) -
Six Flags New England Photo Update
YoshiFan replied to coasterbill's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm not sure about Jester but with Houdini, it was discovered that there was no way to safely evacuate the ride I think if there was a power outage (it's a Vekoma Haunted Swing). The ride is closed until they can make the proper adjustments to make the ride safe. The same ride at Great Adventure is closed for the same reason. -
Saw this on the local news today http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/news/06192005_nw_steelpier.html Pictures of the ride are on the web page at the top where it says images I hope everyone is alright from the accident. I have been to Steel Pier a few times but never ridden anything there because I just don't like the way the park or the rides look. It almost looks like a carnival (complete with the annoying game operators asking everyone walking by to try out their rigged games like the basketball game with the oval basket rim) rather than an amusement park.

Rides to go to first at SFGAdv?
YoshiFan replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Batman and Robin The Chiller since it only has 1 train on each side (if Batman is open, if just Robin is open then of course there will only be 1 train total) Nitro, since it's arguably the most popular coaster in the park other than Kingda Ka Batman The Ride, also still popular and can can sometimes get long waits. All 3 rides are in the same part of the park in Movie Town. -

The board game looks cool -
If they get another coaster, I think they need something in between what they have now. Dragons and Hulk are both major coasters but Flying Unicorn and Pteradon Flyers are more family coasters. A hyper sounds like a good idea. I'd also like to see them get the Driving Machines up and running (I know it probably won't happen). It's a shame to have all that track up there and most of the ride completed but having it SBNO.
