Looks great, looks like that will be the system I'll be getting. The only thing I don't like is how they changed the controller. Since the Dual Analog controller was released in 1997, the controller has remained almost the same except for the rumble in the Dual Shock and the pressure sensetive buttons in the Dual Shock 2. After over 7 years of using the same controller setup for PS1 and PS2, I think it will be difficult to get used to something new. The fact that it plays PS1 game and PS2 games is great. I use my PS2 to play my PS1 games all the time, especially my Japanese PS2 since I still am getting Japanese PS1 games (thanks to Konami for not releasing any of those cool Bemani music games in the US besides DDR), so I know I'll play PS1 and PS2 games on the PS3.

Some official word on the new XBOX 360.
YoshiFan replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
So far I'm not impressed. The games shown don't look that great. It seems like everything is a sequel to an exisitng game franchise and I'm getting tired of playing the same games over and over again. I'm also not happy that the Tony Hawk series is trying to be Grand Theft Auto with the showing of Tony Hawk Wasteland. I think part of the problem for me is that I am starting to lose interest in gaming because everything seems the same, and there aren't as many as unique and original games like there used to be. This generation of systems I had PS2, Xbox and Gamecube but for the next generation of systems, I'll probably end up getting PS3. -
Afraid of coasters as a kid?
YoshiFan replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When I was a kid, I sometimes went on tame coasters like the Zamperla Dragon coaster but I didn't start going on full size coaster (Sky Princess at Dutch Wonderland or Big Thunder Mountain at Disney World), until I was 12. -

Some of the queues look crazy. I'd hate to be at a park on a day when they were full. Nice photos -
That would be great. I really liked the old Future World part of Epcot from the 80's and early 90's. Test Track is fun and everything but I still wish the old rides where there. I hate how Disney is trying to make every new ride a thrill ride like Mission Space, since not everyone can enjoy those rides and the original idea with Disney parks was to build a place where families could go on rides together.

It's too bad they got rid of Joker, that was one of my favorite non coaster rides in the park -
Have you been to Disney?
YoshiFan replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have been to WDW 15 times, and been to all 4 parks there. Never been to Disneyland but I want to go eventually. -
Trailblazer(Hersheypark)'s helix
YoshiFan replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, it's way too short of a ride. It was my 1st coaster at Hershey so I still go on it when I am there since there is never more than 5 minute wait for it (I wouldn't wait any longer than that for it). -
Undecided, if it's backwards compatiable I might get it but the price is the most important factor for me. I don't want to spend $250 or $300 (or more if it turns out to be $350+) on a new system so I'll probably wait for a price drop if it's expensive.

Copy A Coaster
YoshiFan replied to Coasterlicious's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It doesn't bother me. With the case of TTD and Kingda Ka, I won't be going to Cedar Point any time soon because it's about a 9 hour drive, Kingda Ka is about 1 1/2 hours away frome me. Even though the rides are basically the same, it allows me to experience the ride that I may not have had a chance to go on otherwise. -
I was there during the 2nd week of July last year. It was crowded but not so bad that you couldn't walk through the park like at Christmas. The major rides in Disney seemed to average about an hour to an hour and a half wait. Later in the day at the parks, the crowds seem to die down because with the extreme heat, people who were in the park all day usually can't take the heat anymore and leave (and least that's how it seemed to be last year), making the parks a lot less crowded after around 7 or 8.

Best Theme Park Chain
YoshiFan replied to vertgforces's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I voted for Disney, overall, I think they are just the best chain of parks with great rides, a great environment as well as just a fun place to be at, that's not really a chain, they have only have one park (that I know of) They "sort of" own Dutch Wonderland as well. I say sort of because I think they bought the park but it's run by a different company name other than Hershey, but at the same time, they incorporated some things with both parks by offering a combo ticket for the 2 parks and moving rides from one park to the other such as the kiddie whip. -
Best Six Flags Rides

Saw Mill Log Flume at Great Adventure. It's one of the longest log flumes in the country and it travels really fast through the track and it has 3 drops. -
Favorite PA Park and/or ride
YoshiFan replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think the problem with Dorney is that once Cedar Fair bought it, it started to lose it's classic amusement park feel with the removal of a lot of classic rides like Journey To The Center of The Earth, those rockets like in Disney's California Adventure and the more recent removal of the boat ride (Water Skooters?) as well as some other flat rides like the Paratrooper. It seems like they are turning Dorney into another thrill park which I think makes it less unique and special -
Favorite PA Park and/or ride
YoshiFan replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have only been to Hershey and Dorney and my favorite is Hershey. My favorite ride there is the Comet. -
I don't know if that's it or not, but those long yellow slides are still there but they got rid of the huge bridge that you walked through Big Bird's mouth to access them. Now you just walk up stairs. Or was it a different slide? Or if you mean the slides in this picture: http://www.themeparkbrochures.com/2001/sp2001_4.html They are still there as well.

My local waterpark is Sesame Place. It isn't that great unless you are a kid since nothing is that thrilling and all the shows and attractions besides the water rides are of course, geared toward the under 10 crowd, and to make things worse just about any day during the summer the place is packed. I know water parks are crowded during the summer, but people come from all over the country to Sesame Place and it can get crazy there. It's a great family park though. They have about 6 slides, a small wavepool, 2 flat rides and a Vekoma Jr. Coaster.

I hope they keep EB seperate and still run it the way it is. EB usually has awesome deals on old games, I have never gotten a deal at Gamestop (finding a good not used game for under $5)

Max. is even faster, at one part of the song it gets to 600 bpm, it's a 9 foot song on light. I still have trouble with it. It's only on the Japanese PS2 version of Extreme though

I don't understand the point of having a maximum height limit on a ride, especially when the limit is not there because of safety. If the ride is safe for people over 52" to ride, then anyone should be allowed on. It also means more money for the place since they get more riders. I know it's probably to make sure the wait time is never too long for kids but at a place like that, I can't imagine the wait is ever that bad. In general, I wish that parks would use age for determining if you are allowed on kiddie rides rather than height as long as it's safe for someone of any height to go on the ride. It doesn't seem right to me that an 8 or 9 year old for example who might be tall for their age would not be allowed to go on certain rides with a height limit (even though people over the height limit might be allowed on the ride if they have a child within the height limit so it's not a matter of safety), but if an adult happens to be short like under 5 feet, they would be allowed on certain kiddie rides (not that most adults would want to go on a kiddie ride, I'm just saying they would be allowed to)

Splash_Mountain's 1st Video Game Completion!
YoshiFan replied to Splash_Mountain's topic in Random, Random, Random
Great game, a little short but it is fun to play. I hope they release the sequel in the US (I think they will since the first game sold well here, over 100,000 copies which is good for a niche game that really doesn't have mainstream appeal) -
New Jersey Shore Parks...help
YoshiFan replied to Jeezus Juice's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wouldn't go to Ocean City or Atlantic City unless you really want the credits. Ocean City this year is really not great. Gillian's got rid of their City Jet coaster so all they have is a small Miner Mike kiddie coaster and a Wacky Worm (they are supposed to get a new coaster this year but construction has not started). Playland's Castaway Cove got rid of their Mighty Mouse coaster and today, all that was running was the Flitzer (their Python Pinfairi Looping Coaster had some track on the ground so I'm not sure what's going on there). Steel Pier in Atlantic City only has a Crazy Mouse spinning coaster and some kiddie coaster and I think unless you buy an all day pass, just to ride the Crazy Mouse once is $5.25. I think Atlantic City overall is just dissapointing in how there is so little there compared to Las Vegas. Tivoli Pier, the other park in Atlantic City (it was inside the Tropicana) closed and more and more casino's seem to want to keep families out of Atlantic City with some casino's starting a policy where you have to be 18 just to enter the place (not the actual casino floor but also the entire building including the shops and restaurants)
