  1. Most tourists probably do know a closed SBNO ride is SBNO though. Most people who aren't into coasters or are familiar with the park would know Flashback for example is SBNO. All they see is a closed ride.
  2. Nice that they are getting more rides. I hope there is no maximum height limit. I wonder what kind of lines these rides will get though. In a crowded park like Sea World, with 3 new low capacity rides I can imagine those lines will get long.
  3. I agree about the water cannons. I knew Saw Mill Log Flume had the water cannons but I didn't know Poland Springs Plunge had them as well (which I think is horrible they would put water cannons on a ride in what is basically a kids area). It's even worse in cooler weather. I know you go on a Log Flume expecting to get wet but some of those water cannons can really get you soaked. I don't know if they do it or not but they should at least turn them off it is under a certain temperature outside.
  4. With them sold out, you can still get them if you make it yourself. They look like the same snowglobes they sell at craft stores with a photo insert. You can just buy the snowglobe, print out a picture of the coaster you want and put it in the picture insert and get basically the same product.
  5. Besides the ones you mentioned, 3 other ones I have are- Not allowing re-rides on coasters when there is no one waiting for your row and the train isn't even 1/3 full Overpriced skill games Rigged skill games (like when a basketball game has an oval rim instead of a circular rim)
  6. SooperDooperLooper at Hersheypark in May 1999. I didn't like it the first but after some more rides on it a few years later (and the Loch Ness Monster at BGW), I started to like loops a lot more.
  7. Even if it was rough, I think they still should have kept it. Isn't the area where the ride was just vacant anyway? Plus, they really could have used another coaster considering the lack of coasters they have now (they have more past coasters than current coasters!)
  8. That self service postal machine looks cool. I wish they had those in my area since it would make things a lot easier than having to deal with the postal clerks all the time as they are never too happy when I come in almost everyday with 10 - 15 items to mail (EBay sales).
  9. Surprising to hear that Pooh never has a line. In WDW, it seems like the line is always 45+ minutes (unless you get there early when the park opens). I have even seen it get over 100 minutes at Christmas. Maybe it's not as popular in DL because it's not in Fantasyland?
  10. I had considered thinking about going but it's been raining for 12+ hours here. No fun to drive 2 1/2 hours in the rain and then walk around in the rain all day, then another 2 1/2 of driving home in the rain.
  11. Yeah, Expert is heavy. The older US DDR games used that system as well were Basic/Light was called Standard, Trick/Standard was called Difficult and Maniac/Heavy was called Expert.
  12. Suppoedly the show buildings are empty. I don't think the animatronics were ever completed or put up in the building if they were completed.
  13. Figuring it's the standard Wacky Worm it isn't powered: http://www.rcdb.com/ig3184.htm
  14. Joga needed some more songs in DDR. Other than Dam Darriam and Bye Bye Baby Balloon (only found in DDR Max arcade and the Japanese PS2 version of DDR max), that's all they had. I hate how all the artists that had songs in DDR like Captain Jack, Smile.dk, Bambee, Papaya, E-Rotic etc. haven't had any new songs in DDR for years. The US DDR games are getting some of the songs but those are all old from older DDR games.
  15. I have been playing for almost 4 1/2 years (seriously playing for 3 years). I can play most songs on Heavy but the only 10 footer I can clear so far is Bag. I have DDR for almost every system including N64 and Gameboy. The pad I use is the Cobalt Flux metal pad.
  16. IMO, Donkey Konga is just a simplified version of Taiko (since Namco also made Donkey Konga). It is almost too easy with even the top difficulty being possible to clear right away on most songs. It's fun but I regret buying it.
  17. The problem with IOA is that there seems to only be 2 types of coasters, family/kiddie coasters and thrilling coasters with nothing inbetween. If possible, I would try to get to another park like BGT and try some of the intermediate coasters like Python and Scorpion. That way, you can start with less intense rides and work your way up to the bigger rides.
  18. No one in my family likes coasters but they like going to parks. It's a shame because I hate going on coasters by myself and I am always a single rider because of it. My friends aren't into coasters really either. They will go on coasters like when we were on our class trip at WDW we went on Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain but they aren't the type of people that go to parks a lot if at all generally. I brought up Kingda Ka to one of my friends in the spring seeing how he would react and his response was basically, "Oh sounds interesting, I don't really care about parks and rollercoasters anymore"
  19. Parks I will definetly be visting: Dorney Hershey Wildwood/Morey's Piers Playland (Ocean City, NJ) Gillian's Wonderland Pier (Ocean City, NJ) Parks I might visit: SF Great Adventure Busch Gardens Williamsburg I also hope that I am able take a PA road trip (I have never been to a park in PA west of Hershey) and go to a lot of the western PA parks like Kennywood and go to Ohio and finally get to Cedar Point.
  20. Anaheim Angels. I would like to see someone else besides the usual teams win. And I really didn't have much of a preference after yesterday after the Phillies missed the playoffs by 1 game so I really don't want to see Houston or Atlanta win
  21. 14, I had been on some kiddie and family coasters before then like a Zamperla Dragon but I first went on the Comet at Hersheypark when I was 14 and that ride really got me interested in roller coasters
  22. Same with me, I was there in 1996 and all I went on was Scooby's Ghoster Coaster. I remember looking at the Bat and Vortex and thinking, "You have to be crazy to go on a ride like that." Now I would ride both without a problem.
  23. That video was great. Sounds like some of the ops are on a power trip with the camera issue. I understand that if park policy says no cameras then they felt it was neccessary to say something but to have someone follow you and then tell ops at other rides really sounds ridiculous.
  24. Sesame Place about 30 minutes away. Closest "real" park is Dorney Park about 50 minutes away.
