This was my biggest issue with Helix. I felt that it has a lot of "good" moments, but not really any "great" moments. The airtime moments were both good, but not better than the wooden coaster on the other side of the park. I would have preferred the ride to be "F**KING AWESOME" at just one thing rather than "Pretty good" at a variety of things. That's too bad, I was hoping this ride would be on par with rides like iSpeed and Maverick.

Carowinds Discussion Thread

Some enthusiasts have set the bar really really high when it comes to what they want in a roller coaster, which in the end results in not having a variety of different coasters to enjoy riding. These are people who only enjoy riding one coaster at a park since that is usually all a park has when it comes to their expectations (with exception to a few parks like Cedar Point). I honestly feel bad for the people who find riding a B&M hyper boring, because these are the people that only will get to enjoy a handful of coasters regularly throughout their life. And don't let other people complaining ruin your excitement. Their opinion won't change the way Fury 325 will ride, so just laugh at the posts that call dropping 325 feet at almost 100mph boring and move on to the next post. -

For anyone who had rode both, which is better? Blue Fire or Helix? -

^^I've built many different roller coasters in that area in RCT2. None were any Mack coasters though. -

It was an absolutely beautiful weekend, a lot nicer than most of the summer. Doesn't surprise me at all that the park was packed. And the fact that Wild Beast's line was spilling out shows how Wonderland's GP don't know what a good roller coaster is. -

This is how I feel about the ride as well, and the finale is awesome, the best part of the ride. -
Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
loop-de-loop replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Kings Dominion is overdue for a new coaster, while Canada's Wonderland and Cedar Point are not. The last coaster Kings Dominion recieved was Intiminator 305 in 2010, which is five years straight without a new coaster. Canada's Wonderland recieved Leviathan in 2012, which is only three years without a MAJOR new coaster, and Cedar Point recieved Gatekeeper in 2013, which is only two years without a MAJOR new coaster. The 2015 attraction at Cedar Point probaly won't be a MAJOR new coaster, but rather the rumored transformation of Mantis into a floorless coaster. Also, every other former Parmount Park will have by next year recieved a MAJOR new coaster since Kings Dominion recieved Intiminator 305 in 2010. Canada's Wonderland recieved Leviathan in 2012, Kings Island recieved Banshee in 2014, Carowinds will recieve Fury 325 next year for 2015, and Californa's Great America recieved Goldstriker in 2013. So I think 2016 will be Kings Dominion's year to shine. Canada's Wonderland and Cedar Point are larger parks though attendance wise, so they are going to get invested in more. -

^ The weather did effect it. The workers had to build a dark ride in a freezer, since the mountain obviously isn't heated, and last winter was one of the coldest in a long time. Plus with all those massive holes in the mountain during construction I'm sure snow would have been blowing around in there. Being a prototype isn't always a good thing. I'll be surprised if any more work goes into themeing, just look at Leviathans self-eating mailbox, which was supposed to be its lair. -

How many time do some of us tell you? Mantis got a paint test, so it is obviously staying. Possibly transforming into a floorless coaster! Though CP does a good job throwing people off. I don't think it's being removed, but if it's being relocated with a new paint scheme, they might want to see how it looks on a bit of Mantis before ordering lots of paint to repaint the whole thing. EDIT:^^^ beat me to it -

IF it's being removed, and thats a big if, I'm sure it would be relocated. -

In that first poster, is that GASM's loops with the extra track support on the tops of the loops? And a B&M floorless turning into an intamin? And a Paramount Drop Tower? And Superman: Ultimate Flight? They didn't feel like creating their own art work for their main poster, did they. -

Aren't the complaints about the restraints, not the intensity? Mega-lites and skyrush restraints aren't the same right? -

Maybe next year the park will get a new RMC woodie, or Le Monstre will become "twisted monstre" -

I've always dreamed of a launched coaster going into the forest behind Splashworks, I actually really like that layout. If this is a B&M, as long as it isn't a standup or wing coaster, I'll be happy. However, I have a really bad feeling this will be a launched wing coaster. -
Or you could be positive for once and see it this way: At least three other Six Flags parks (Great Adventure, Over Georgia, and Discovery Kingdom) are rumored to be getting a horrible, low capacity carnival flat ride. Meanwhile, Six Flags St. Louis is replacing its rundown, low capacity dark ride with one that should be superior in every way. I think it's hard to think positive when your home park is SFSTL.

Are there any mazes in the mountain this year?
