  1. I'm still hoping for the name Maplehawk ever since it was rumored for Behemoth.
  2. The physical sets are a big plus, makes the ride seem less like a video game. It's one thing I wish they did with WMG. Though to be honest, the drop track is the main reason I ride WMG, so at least they got that right.
  3. Canada's Wonderland is the only park where you can ride 2 B&M's but not a B&M that inverts.
  4. A wing coaster over the front gate wouldn't surprise me one bit at KD.
  5. Yes, school is still in on May 27th. As far as food goes, I'm no help there. I only get fast food when I'm there (pizza, hot dogs) so I can't recommend any sit down restaurants.
  6. I see you've learned a lot from English class. If you were serious about that question, it has been discussed many times in both the CW thread and Carowinds thread so you can find the answer there. But looking at your signature I think you've already made up your mind.
  7. The hyper seen is also on World's of Fun's background.
  8. Every construction project is different. Gatekeeper didn't start being built until the middle of the summer after DT was demolished. I'm guessing they reopened the path from Minebuster to Timberwolf Falls? Or is it still blocked off?
  9. You shouldn't need fast lane. The best times to visit the park are weekdays when school is still in so you should have good chances at most rides being a walk on. I'd suggest hitting all the lower capacity rides in the center of the park first: Guardian, Thunder Run, The Fly, The Bat are all close together. Leave Flight Deck until later in the day because it's one of the first rides people see and gets a huge line early but drops off later.
  10. Yeah I wish they had as many flats as those SF parks! Maybe they could add one of those thrilling Diablo Loopers from Larson. I think Six Flags is making a smart move by adding these Super Loops, I just wish they wouldn't call them coasters. I think a Super Loop would be a great addition at Cedar Point too.
  11. Dave Phillips of Wonderland tweeted this picture. It's coming along.
  12. I'd love to walk down from 300ft on Fury for an evac. Do they make the guests wear harnesses when they have to do that?
  13. Well at least they had good intentions. Does anyone know what the point of the V style train was?
  14. Why did the park decide to change Goliath's train in the first place? I know this park does some dumb things, but I'm sure there was a logical reason to get a new train.
  15. ^This link has comments from the VP of marketing for the park about Skyrider's spot. http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2014/08/07/after_29_years_skyriders_ride_comes_to_an_end.html I'm not saying this guarantees anything, but there is a lot more evidence supporting a new coaster rumor here than any other park, other than CP. (But their coaster is only $15 million, pocket change really )
  16. It's interesting that Leviathan has netting all under the track that goes over the walk way yet Fury has none. I think it looks a lot better without it. Fury really is an amazing looking coaster.
  17. ^It was made up, since Cedar Fair has an obsession with names that end with hawk and have the rides height in the name too.
  18. Does anyone know where in the park that is? I'm trying to figure it out but I'm stumped.
  19. ^No one has called the ride garbage. The drama is coming from fan boys hating on people who aren't, to quote Robb, "ejaculating milk cartons over the newest coaster".
  20. He also tweeted out a pic of the waterslide construction.
  21. Sounds like a discussion for the SFNE thread.
  22. Plus if Six Flags wanted the great escape to have an SLC I'm sure they wouldv'e gotten the one that went to La Ronde.
  23. Just because you think they are redundant doesn't mean they aren't sound investments. From all I've heard Leviathan is a fantastic ride and very different from Behemoth absolutely not, leviathan is very boring (at least for me) camelback curve, curve, camelback, end. I much preferred behemoth. then I do not understand, there are dozens of types of coaster. why build the same thing? (Just a little bit higher) Cedar Fair has a great relationship with B&M from what we've seen, and a giga coaster is easiest to market among the general public, being their target audience. Enthusiasts make up such a small part of their attendance that they don't take into account their opinions when buildig a new coaster. Just because you find it "boring" doesn't mean it's a bad investment, and in all honesty, if you find a 300 foot tall, 93 mph roller coaster "boring," you need to find a new hobby. You're not going to find many coasters more exciting than Leviathan. Well said. I think a B&M giga may be in Kings Island's future too.
  24. I agree, though really, a giant frisbee would look good in any park!
