  1. A megalite is around that height, isn't it But seriously, whatever it is, Fiesta Texas should be happy about getting invested in well where as parks like La Ronde and Six Flags St. Louis get relocated vekomas.
  2. I sure hope so. I walked through Splash Works quickly after exiting SkyRider, and damn that water park looked weak. It felt like I had stepped back in time. None of the attractions seemed all that new, or thrilling really. I would take WWK at Dorney any day. I just find it surprising for CW to be so lacking in such a large area. I think since Splashworks is only open for 2 and a half months, making large investments into a part of the park that isn't even open for half the season isn't a priority for the park. However, it does need money put into it sometimes and it looks like that is the focus for next year. But then again, Six Flags does OK with opening new attractions half way through the season.
  3. ^I'm hoping the fact that they just repainted the rails is a sign that it will be around for a while, though I prefer the red to the blue.
  4. Can you elaborate on this for me? I have seen you and others say this time and time again, but I simply do not understand. Whizzer is a smooth, fun ride for me but nothing I would write home about. Is there something I am missing here that others see? The same can be said about any Anton's really. One, its a Schwarzkopf, and as you now Schwarzkopf is no more. Two, its an ACE Coaster Landmark. Three, its one of only two Schwarzkopf Speedracers remaining, the other one is in Colombia and has been relocated from Worlds of Fun. Four, it runs amazing for being 38 years old. Five, its an original to Great America. Six, Whizzer and the now defunct Whizzer of California's Great America were the last two jet races built. Seven, if you ask anybody who has visited the park staring as a kid or maybe not even, the will say that Whizzer wad their first roller coaster. Eight, we almost lost Whizzer over 10 years ago, but luckily we didn't, and it is here to stay. Alright, so it has lots of nostalgia behind it, though I don't see how that makes it a "crown jewel" of the chain. When I here that term I think of coasters like Bizzaro, New Texas Giant, El Toro, and even Great America's Goliath, not Whizzer...
  5. Your signature seems to disagree with you
  6. ^And a wooden coaster. They already have the trains.
  7. Plus I would rather La Ronde be called Six Flags Montreal than The Round.
  8. Canada's Wonderland had higher attendance than Knott's in 2012...
  9. The nerve some people have to have a different opinion!
  10. You are right. The GP don't really care how forceful it is. It's just that most enthusiasts prefer more forceful rides. That's why a lot of people are posting "Great addition for the park, but doesn't look like a top 10 ride in the entire world"
  11. Track size can range from really thick to normal. See Leviathan: Thick Thin
  12. I completely agree with this post and was going to say the same thing. I'm probably in the minority here, but I find the theme kind of, well, dumb. I mean, if Holiday World released everything except for the part saying the bird saves the passengers, wouldn't we all be a bit confused? Plus, shouldn't the station be a ship if that's where we are being saved from? I just don't get how after 66 days of hearing how rough the sea is and worrying about survival, the coaster is themed to a bird flying over a farm. With that said, I still think it will be a huge success for them. And one more thing, when people say "How do you know this will be forceless? Isn't that what people said about Banshee?", yes you are right, I have no clue how the forces will be, but at least when Banshee was announced, we had hope for forces since B&M have built lots of forceful inverts. Unfortunately, they haven't built a forceful wing coaster yet, so I don't have that same hope for Thunderbird.
  13. Isn't there still yellow track at the plant we don't know where it's going?
  14. Unfortunately, Paramount had no motivation to build anything decent. The park saw its largest attendance increase when they added what just placed in the Mitch poll as the worst roller coaster in the world. They only spent $4 million on that ride. The park never had any major competition so they never had to worry about quality.
  15. ^I've never thought of that, I've always just assumed if you were too heavy to ride that you wouldn't fit.
  16. The test seat is there for this same reason, and is a more accurate way of determining if they will ride safely.
  17. I hope that picture looks worse than it actually is, it looks like the chassis is in contact with both their heads.
  18. Really? I think Behemoth is nothing but standard camelbacks, 1 180 degree turnaround and some slow twists back to the station after the mcbr. Very different from Leviathans fast turns and overbanks. (I say very different lightly, they are both B&M mega coasters) This new layout and Intimidator look extremely alike. 90ish degree turn right after first drop, airtime hill, 180 degree turn, airtime hill, helix. Yes there are some differences too but they are pretty similar. However, I still think this will be a great addition to the park. Leviathan is great, so an even larger version will be amazing No, Leviathan doesn't slow down at the top.
  19. so head for Vortex or Sledgehammer first, Leviathan, Behemoth, followed by Drop Tower or WindSeeker? I would suggest doing them in this order: Sledge Hammer, Behemoth, Windseeker, Vortex, Leviathan, Drop Tower. This just saves you from running across the park and back. I wouldn't do Leviathan, then Behemoth, then Drop Tower since Leviathan and Drop Tower are right beside each other and Behemoth is at the opposite end of the park.
  20. ^I do agree some rides up here get a worse reputation than they deserve, but Time Warp definitely deserves every ounce of hate it gets.
  21. Leviathan uses two different styles of ties on its track. One for the first drop, and the other for the rest of the ride. I can't tell in that one picture if the red track has the same ties as Leviathan's first drop does or not.
  22. B&M winged hyper? Something like Wild Eagle and Gatekeeper? That might be a bit rough though with the extra speed forcing on the wings.
  23. I really like "Rocky Mountain Minebuster" too, but more for the fact that this is Canada's Wonderland, and it would be nice to incorporate the rocky mountains into a coaster name as well, but that name likely won't happen, let alone an RMC minebuster.
  24. This is the first I've heard of this.
  25. Wild Beast is definitely worse than Minebuster, I actually don't find Minebuster that bad. It just lacks any intense airtime. Mean Streak seems like the perfect candidate for RMC. It's complete crap, it's in a park with much better coasters and the park lacks a good woodie (even if it is technically a steel coaster). Personally I wish CP would have done this over Gatekeeper.
