  1. ^A Maverick style coaster with 3 separate launches. Wait, this is six flags, bring on Yolocoaster.
  2. I agree 100% with this, was just about to post the same thing. I did vote for option 2, although I could easily live with both options.
  3. The Toronto market is so big that CW doesn't need to make it a resort, they can just rely on the millions of people that live near it, plus they sold land north of the park in 2008, which would have been the best spot for a hotel. Doesn't Carowinds have extra land for a hotel?
  4. I keep hoping to see some Lake Monster updates, but I get a lesson instead of why a boomerang runs one train. I can't believe people miss sarcasm so easily.
  5. I'm going to say La Ronde, as their last brand new coaster was in 06, and they only got a used SLC in 2010, when they already had a batman clone.
  6. If CP wants to build a dark ride just like WMG, they're going to need a five story building.
  7. The Mighty Canadian Minebuster at CW used to have an incredible airtime hill after the first drop, but soon after it was built it was removed, now it just has small, drawn out hills.
  8. I've had very little head banging with Vortex, its an amazing coaster in my opinion. I would expect Flight Deck (KI) to be similar.
  9. ^^It seems almost every single Cedar Fair park without a giga has claimed that Leviathan was originally meant for them, yet Canada's Wonderland already confirmed that it was their idea to build a B&M giga. And even though many people don't believe that, it makes sense since it was obviously custom designed for CW, and if a $26 million dollar B&M was meant for another park but then moved to CW, they could have chose any B&M design, but they decided to go with a giga. Having said that, a B&M giga would definitely help Worlds of Fun, but I think a more realistic guess for the future would be something launched, like Powder Keg.
  10. It's weird seeing a park layout abandoned with so few rides. It's cool to see where the SLC used to stand, though.
  11. And your toast gets more airtime than a B&M If Intamin built a toaster your toast would hit the roof when it was done.
  12. If you aren't a credit whore, I'd suggest skipping the SLC, the volare and the boomerang, and trying out the many flat rides the park has. Also, don't miss Vortex, as it is a great coaster that gets over shadowed by Behemoth and Leviathan.
  13. The never ending train look awesome.
  14. I think it would be cool to see RMC get their hands on the Mighty Canadian Minebuster at CW. An out-and-back layout like that could be turned into a major airtime machine. However, it seems that it is more the twister layouts getting RMC's treatment.
  15. I personally prefer I305 over MF, but definitely prefer any Intamin giga over a B&M giga like Leviathan (totally non-biased opinion, considering CW is my home park). Although I have to agree with Benner, after seeing Shambhala on video, that B&M does have potential to make a top-notch giga, and could be just as welcome at Carowinds If I'm honest, Shambhala was no better than Nitro (which is the only other B&M hyper I've been on). In fact, I would say I like Nitro just a tiny bit more because of its forceful helix. Shambhala was a very fun ride and a kind of coaster that attracts lots of people as it is the tallest in Europe and everyone can ride it. It's great for getting more people to visit the park, but not great to please enthusiasts a lot. I went there last year I ended up riding shambhala and Dragon Khan 8 times and Furius Baco 5 and, in the last rides it kind of got a bit boring, lots of floater air and everything, but it just didn't make me want to ride it again badly as furius baco and Dragon khan did. That's too bad, as Shambhala *looks* good. It will be interesting to see how it stacks up to the other B&M hypers in the next steel polls Mitch does now that people are starting to ride it that can actually compare it to other great coasters. I still can't believe it placed so high last year.
  16. I think if Cedar Fair/Carowinds wants this new ride to push the envelope, they will go with Intamin. However, I think they will go with the company that is more conservative and reliable, B&M, because Leviathan hasn't had the issues I-305 had. How do we know that space in that drawing is the only amount of space it will take up?
  17. I think you will be very pleased with Banshee if you consider Wild Eagle and Diamondback extremely intense.
  18. Time for a bump, someone else responded to one.
  19. I was 14 when I rode my first "major roller coaster," but I've always loved roller coasters since I started playing RCT 2. I spent several hours a week playing that game when I was in elementary school.
  20. ^I'd be surprised if a giga from either company wouldn't be a success at Carowinds.
  21. Skyrider is loaded with airtime from the drops to its major airtime hill to its bunny hills, so I actually agree with you. What kills the ride though is the helix of death. I haven't been on many coasters, however Leviathan wins this for me. That drop just seems to last forever and get steeper and steeper.
  22. Vortex at Canada's Wonderland.
  23. What's your point? That cables are better than chains? I think it is the slow lift hill that allows Leviathan to run 3 trains. As for Carowinds new coaster, I'd be surprised if this was Intamin and not B&M. Cedar Fair seems to be pleased with their products as they keep buying more and they havn't gave as many headaches to parks like some Intamins have. Most enthusiasts on this site won't love a B&M giga, but the GP sure will, and that's what matters the most to the park.
  24. Except for last year. I didn't know Wild Eagle was better than Skyrush, Leviathan, Shambhala, Wodan, Oziris...
