  1. They are putting theming on the footers??? Their attention to detail is extraordinary. Six Flags and Cedar Fair... Take notes.
  2. Is anybody else having a problem with the link? My internet crashes every time I try to open it.
  3. Thank you! Try 17 years like we have had at Darien Lake. That's a real coaster drought. Note: Motocoaster was added in 2008 but it is a family coaster, I'm talking about major coasters.
  4. I'm thinking that if this design would go away with wood/steel lattice supports, this new track would be able to do more inversions like loops, cobra rolls, and more
  5. Just out of curiosity, if they aren't planning to add any more rides besides the train, what will be the intentions of the park? I get that they want to restore the novelty of the place, but what will be bringing people into the park and making it popular again? Not saying that this has to become a huge park with 100 rides, but without something to bring people in, it will fall back into bankruptcy.
  6. Maybe a new coaster for them soon? I could see it happening with them opening up all of this land. There was a lot of land to expand on there even when the log flume was still standing.
  7. That's definitely interesting. I hope that now seeing RMC is a big company, they will come up with more innovative and quirky designs like this. Seeing that they have built the 4D coasters for S&S, maybe they will come up with their own version of the wing rider soon.
  8. ARM makes models with 2 rows too, but the seats don't tilt forwards. I would like to see the park try to get some unique rides, and not just copy off of other local parks. Seabreeze and MFI have been doing this for a few years now. That's why I think that Rolling Thunder and Brain Drain were so successful this year.
  9. http://www.intaminworldwide.com/amusement/RoundRides/Looping+Starship/tabid/141/ProductNumber/Looping+Starship/language/de-DE/Default.aspx It's still in production. I don't think that DL will be "hunting one down" any time soon though, because with Rolling Thunder, adding another ride like that would be redundant.
  10. As long as is it isn't mandatory, parks can do whatever they please as far as VR goes. I've had a couple of bad experiences with motion sickness already. Maybe I would try it out on smaller stuff like mine trains, but I still prefer the view and feel of the bigger coasters.
  11. ^^Intamin's Looping Starship model does the same thing. Not sure if you're just curious or not, but Rolling Thunder pretty much covers Ranger in terms of a replacement.
  12. Wow, I am stunned how great this turned out. It really looks like the real thing. Great job!
  13. The switch track is so innovative. Can't wait to see the coaster in action with people on it. Hopefully more of these get built at other parks.
  14. Flyers are nice, and it is always a welcomed addition to fill in an empty pad. Better than nothing. I still find it humorous that people were expecting a coaster.
  15. Imagine the excitement Rob will have when someone mentions this wild idea to him!! I can practically see his face lighting up with excitement when some enthusiast tells him tales of the wonderful things they can do to old wooden coasters. When someone suggests that he should call RMC about Mean Streak at Cedar Point (a park he was only just reminded about by another helpful enthusiast) he'll probably run to the phone so quickly with this exciting new idea he'd never thought of before that he'll almost forget to say "Thank you! Thank you Mr. Enthusiast for this outstanding suggestion! If only anyone had ever brought this up to me or I would ever have thought of it I would have called years ago!" I wasn't trying to state the obvious there. It's just that RMCs are extremely marketable and cheaper than a lot of options on the market at this point. Prices are going up for them too, so it would be best to test one out ASAP. It wouldn't even have to be Mean Streak. There's a bunch more CF coasters I can name off the top of my head that could use work.
  16. Yeah, there needs to be some kind of formula in play like the Mitch poll so that people don't just blurt out rides like MF to knock others down. I'm too lazy to find the other thread, but there's already a bunch of people (including Robb) that said they would support a TPR poll. Somebody has to be willing to find/use the formula first though or it would end up being a popularity contest.
  17. I think it's because Bizarro actually has a good layout and some great airtime and forces while the other clones do absolutely nothing. Have you ridden either of the clones? Because they are both amazing rides that combine speed with amazing ejector airtime. The forces are far more intense than pretty much all B&Ms on that list. Bizarro is superior to both, but they're not that far off. Not only is that poll a popularity contest, but the smaller parks don't get appreciated as much either. If anything all Intamin hypers should be on that list before a Morgan hyper even touches the top 50.
  18. I think it looked better before How the **** are some of those trash coasters in the top 50 when S:RoS isn't in there at all? Skyrush, I305, and Maverick are way too low on the list. I know that's my personal opinion, but most of the board here would agree with me I would imagine. It's like people will vote down on all other rides to get their precious favorites on top.
  19. For me, I would start by working with RMC. Give the old wooden coasters that lost their flair a new life and new popularity. The smaller parks should get new small coasters. Hyper GTXs and S&S Free Spins would be good starts. Finally, I would love to see CF to start working with Intamin again. Even if it started small with a Sky Jump or something.
  20. ^ I want a shirt too so I can walk around Mean Streak wearing it and watch the CP thread explode.
  21. A picture in the Wildfire thread shows RMC workers on site. http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=67504&start=1010
  22. ^^ Count me on the boat for Superman love. Ride of Steel at Darien Lake is #3 for me, and blows Millennium Force out of the water. CP fanboys just don't want to admit it. The camelbacks and bunny hills are killer, and the ride holds such great constant speed. My top 2 are Skyrush and Maverick, I'm just too lazy to post more pics.
  23. They could always move lockers from the old building across from Silver Bullet to under Ranger's queue. Then they could tear that building down and look to expand out over the hill.
  24. It's definitely not comfortable, but it's still one hell of an amazing ride. I tend not to let the pain bother me and just focus more on the ride itself.
  25. If so many people didn't complain about the restraints Skyrush would be a lock in the top 10. Fine with me, less people in line. Even Maverick is 100x better than MF and it isn't even found in the top 10.
