Best Wooden Coaster Collection
kickflipbacktail replied to Password121's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'd say Dollywood simply because Thunderhead is my favorite, and I'm assuming Lightning Rod is insane, but since I can't judge without riding, I'd have to say Hershey Park for me. -
Carowinds Discussion Thread
kickflipbacktail replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Does anyone know Carowind's policy about guests with crutches? I want to take my brother from Puerto Rico to Carowinds this weekend but I got hurt several weeks ago and I'm still healing. I have a leg brace and crutches. My leg can easily bend enough to fit in even their most restrictive rides like Nighthawk, but I'm curious as to what they will ask my to do with my crutches. Will they let me leave them on the station platform or will I have to leave them in the car? I can get around without them, just very slowly and it causes me significant discomfort. If anyone can shed some light that would be greatly appreciated! -

THIS COMMENT IS FUNNIER THAN THE STORY ITSELF! Don't worry. A very similar scenario happened to me about 3 weeks ago at Six Flags Over Georgia on a Titl-A-Wirl. You'd think I'd know one of my favorite flat rides doesn't lock seeing as I've been riding them for years. Alas, whiteknuckle terror..... on a ride that only throws you further into the seat...

I was hoping 150 dollars should cover us for the day. Might consider bringing a little extra just to make sure she gets everything she wants. Also I will for sure eat in the park the day we are there but I will also be doing 2 full days outside of the park so I just wanna know about dinner places in the area for those evenings. However, thank you for bringing up the meal plan, I will for sure look into it. I've loved every park that offered a meal plan up to this point, so I'm sure I'll love this one too!

Hey guys. I;m sorry if I ask some questions that have already been addressed but I'm not a regular at the Universal thread. I'm planning a trip for the end of next month for my anniversary with my girlfriend. She is a massive Harry Potter fan so I figured IOA and US would be perfect for her. Just a few questions about IOA in general since i haven't been since Dueling Dragons was actually still Dueling haha. Are there any ways to get cheaper combo tickets for both parks? The online price of 150 a person is steep but if I have to deal with it it could be worse. Also does anyone know when the new Hulk coaster will be open to the public? I haven't been following it since it was announced. If it's closed I won't mind, this trip is really all about Harry Potter world anyway. Also does anyone have any general tips for attacking both parks in a day? Finally, I want to know good restaurants in the area to grab a dinner at. We're young, and easy to please. Just want something besides Wendy's haha.

But nothing about this technology is really new. -

To me, it sounds as if the biggest issue was the decision of who to source the LIM launch from. Velocity Magnetic's first launch. A bit over ambitious of them no? -

If only a certain other RMC had such luck.... This ride looks incredible. -

This is awesome! Really happy for them! -
I love the vest restraints. I've ridden 5 arrows that don't have them (yeah I know, arrow and vekoma aren't the same thing but you get what I mean[ Cedar Point's Corkscrew, Tennessee Tornado, Loch Ness monster, Carolina Cyclone, and Ninja at SFOG before the transformation]) After riding Ninja and it's new form Blue Hawk I realize how huge of an improvement the vest restraints are. They support my upper body so much more and I can't bang my head.

This is the entire reason I haven't bought any Lightning Rod merchandise this year on any of my visits. It would feel weird to buy a shirt for a roller coaster that I haven't been on. I'll by making another attempt in a month to ride Lightning Rod. -
What is the most G-Force you have pulled?
kickflipbacktail replied to XYZ's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Positive is a 4 way tie between the second turn on Skyrush at Hershey Park (after the first airtime hill) the helix on Goliath at SFOG, the helix on NItro at SFGAdv, and pulling out of the first drop on Millennium Force. All 4 of those made the color fade from my vision only to have it rocket back to full color in their next element (which on all but MF is something with negative Gs to force the blood back into my brain. I love this feeling. Lets me know what I'm riding is intense. Negative- 2 way tie. El Toro and Skyrush. The entire ride on both. Vicious ejector airtime. Lateral, Mavericks Stengal dive. (I probably spelled that wrong) -
Comet at Hershey Park, it's just weak to me. It doesn't even give me a classic coaster feel. I enjoyed Blue Streak at CP, GASM at SFOG, and Thunderhawk at DP much more as 'classic' wooden coasters. Hate is a strong word, but I think Goliath at SFOG is the weakest B&M hyper coaster I've ever ridden. The only coaster over 200 feet that I enjoyed less was Steel Force. It's not a bad ride by any means, but I think it's brother that I've ridden viciously outshine it.
