I don't know how I forgot to mention this, but today Dollywood's service surprised me again. I'm on crutches because of a knee injury, so I've been crutching around the parks I've been visiting. Yesterday I went all the way over to Lightning Rod and crutched all through the line. I got to the very top and the host told me to step to the side of the exit and wait because they can't let me through with my crutches like that. I was crushed and thought I wouldn't be riding. Silly me. They sent someone from guest services over to the ride and up the elevator just for me. Had me sign some paperwork and gave me a handicap access pass. I proceeded to get right on Lightning Rod and went about my day going through the handicap entrances. It really improved my experience yesterday. I already love Dollywood, but that just sent it through the roof for me. Amazing park service as always. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Yea I've never seen Tornado run two trains during the week, it never needs to, but even then you could always see the other train on the track in the storage shed right before the lift hill. I didn't see it at all, so maybe they started early rehab on it?? When I visited the park back in July, the second train was still there. Not sure when they took it off, but it sounds like it happened more recently. That's my guess because I've seen past times where that train would disappear before the season ended. Who knows. Sorry for the double post. I asked all of the ride hosts about this today. Apparently every 2 years they send a train away for a full rebuild. Obviously take this with a grain of salt, but that was the 'word on the street.' -

2 middle rows blocked off. It went back to one train ops and then back to two today. I'm in line for my last ride of the day and we're getting the front row. So excited. Love my first RMC, but I have to take the sterotypical unimpressed photo. All jokes aside this ride is incredible. -

Lightning Rod is running. I took my first ride today in the very back seat. This is coaster 81 for me and it instantly SHOT to the number 1 spot for me. I am with my family and girlfriend so we're going on everything. Been on every coaster except Thunderhead and then it's straight back to Lightning Rod!! The only airtime that has ever come close to Lightning Rod that I've personally ridden has been El Toro or Skyrush and neither has as many ejector airtime elements. Such an incredible coaster. Edit-Update. 2pm in line for ride 2. 2 train ops. -

I'm at the park right now. Lightning Rod is testing with 2 trains. They're holding us at the entrance to Jukebox Junction until 10am. Hoping I finally get to ride today. -

On my way to the park from Atlanta with my brother and girlfried. Getting there an hour early and waiting for Lightning Rod. This is my last chance to ride the coaster before I move back up north. Fingers crossed!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

It's been running all day today so far, one train, if you run to it right at rope drop, you shouldn't wait to long. I was on the first train today, and went back around after and only waited about 10 mins. They only let one train on the loading platform at a time, so even if the line looks long, it's really not that bad, as they're keeping everyone else behind the chain. Are they assigning seats? Followup question. Does anyone know any good discounts going on at the park? The only thing I can really find is 5 dollars off of admission with my seasons pass. I'm taking my brother on sunday. To buy online is 75 dollars for the day after fees but I don't know if it is worth it to buy them online or just wait and pay at the gate. Yes, they're assigninf seats. If you have a season pass, you should have received the email that you can bring a friend for $25 in September. I missed that email. Might have thrown it away with spam. Is that a deal I can redeem at the park? I'm assuming so, I didn't use mine today as all my coaster friends are at work, or out of town, I plan on using mine the weekend of the 17th, but I assume it works like all other bring a friend pass, except you can actually bring more than one this time, which is awesome. Oh wow you can use it for more than one person? Definitely awesome now. I gotta either find this email or find the details. -

They cleared the queue for a projected one hour delay? I'm sorry... I have Kingda Ka in my home park and I find this adorable Hits so close to home. My first time at Great Adventure in 2011 we waited through a 3 hour delay plus a one and a half hour wait for Kingda Ka amd they never once evacuated the queue area. -

Are you actually from the Atlanta Georgia area? If the ride is actually open I would like to go with other coaster enthusiasts if anyone is down for a meetup! I'm from the Atlanta area and definitely down for a meet up. If it makes it into next week I'll likely go next weekend. Weekends are no go for me. I work on the weekends. Ah damn. I work Monday's through Fridays. -

I went to Scarowinds on 3 separate weekends last year. The park was literally dead during the day. Every single coaster was a walk on. Once the park reopened as scarowinds everything was a 45 minute minimum wait, even coasters like Afterburn. Fury was 3 hours. -

I will call the park on my lunch break and inquire about that pass. It would be a massive help.
