  1. Not a Euro Fighter but I think you'd have a total blast on Cannibal. Cannibal seems like its in a class all its own as far as intensity goes. A drop that steep and big must be something one of a kind. Hope to ride it soon. In other news. Thoughts on Pete Owens saying they expect a May opening? DAY TRIP ANYONE?
  2. Very glad you enjoyed Dollywood, and yes a lot of people don't care for Mystery Mine due to the OTSR, and Pete was asked if they were going to convert Mystery Mine to lapbar, and his response was they've thought about it but just not at this time. God I hope they don't. The OTSR are what make me enjoy it a lot more than the other Euro Fighters I've been on. I hate how unsupported I feel when I ride Dare Devil Dive especially laterally.
  3. GCI-Wildcat at Hershey Park (Very fast and I think it's a great wooden coaster, but it's the roughest GCI I've been on) B&M-Vortex at Carowinds, rough and extremely boring. Intamin-Kingda Ka (Rough on the launch and really not thrilling to me in any way, I can honestly say that every single Intamin I have ridden has been better)
  4. My next official planned visit will be the second week of June, but if the ride opens before then a day or 2 trip might be in the cards.
  5. I think the closest that I could physically get on including parking and walking into the park would be Georgia Scorcher.
  6. That area of the ride is gonna be hard to get more pictures and videos of but I also have not seen it testing today at all. It its testing within the next hour when I leave I'll go back over there and try to get more footage.
  7. Hahah sorry about that. Posting from my phone. Too much of a hassle to embed from here. Thank you!
  8. On my instagram you can see that launch video as well as the final stretch of the ride. Thats really all you can film from the park. While riding Thunderhead I was able to turn around and see it crest the wave turn. The ride is really impressive. I'm on my way out of the park now. They're currently doing more rollback testing. I MIGHT drop in for a few hours tomorrow morning before I leave Pidgeon Forge. However me and the misses have already discussed it. We're gonna schedule a 10 person 4 day cabin trip here when Lightning Rod is open. If for some reason our friends drop out we will just do a 4 day weekend. 2 days at Kentucky Kingdom for Storm Chaser and 2 days here for Lightning Rod!
  9. Thats my instagram haha. Feel free to follow.
  10. Alright guys. I got 4 videos for you all to see when I return to my hotel! This thing is gonna be a winner!!!
  11. I got 2 videos for you guys. Standing at the exit of the rapids ride waiting for another test so I can film the launch!!
  12. I don't know if you guys can see it through the trees on the quad down! WE HAVE MOVEMENT!
  13. Alright guys. I'm about to go to the park. After a long night of partying and wandering Pidgeon Forge I'm still pumped up to try to get pictures and videos for you guys. The instant I see or hear it testing you guys will be the first to know!!
  14. Of course this is the dumbed down annalysis of the issue. I do not claim to work for RMC or build roller coasters and anything said by ANYONE park employee or not is to be taken with a grain of salt unless it comes directly from RKC or Dollywood. This is the reasoning I was given. Either way, the ride is testing again, expect to ride it soon!
  15. Why wouldn't they just reduce the launch speed? Because it wasnt launching like that EVERY time. It was inconsistant. This solves that problem.
  16. I did not see any rollbacks. Apparently it was testing on and off throughout the day but I wasnt in that area of the park until about 5 oclock. I stopped in the gift shop for lightning rod to ask about it. The woman working there said the original issue was sometimes the ride would launch too quickly so instead of top speed being 72-73 it was closer to 82 miles per hour. Thats why they added breaks to the top of the launch that go all the way up the hill. Rain and lightning warnings came in and all of the coasters shut down. I was walking toward the exit of the park from the Lightning Rod area amd I happened to turn around because I heard a weird noise and sure enough I watched it launch over the hill. Fast! I BOLTED back to the entrance to try to get video but I got there right as the rain hit and the testing stopped. I will be at the park all day tomorrow and the weather should be better. I WILL get video and pictures of testing if its testif again tomorrow. Me and my girlfriend already agreed the day it opens we will be making the drive down to ride it. I have a lot of pictures to upload to TPR when I get home on monday! See the brakes?
  17. Welp guys I'm leaving the park now. Not much to report. OH. BUT LIGHTNING ROD IS TESTING. FULL DAYTIME CIRCUITS WITH A LAUNCH AND EVERYTHING. This thing is LOUD AND PROUD guys. I couldnt believe I got to watch it make a full circuit. Made my day.
  18. Enjoying this trip so far. Excited for the park tomorrow. Me and the misses are currently at the Dixie Stampede for the first time. This is incredible(:
  19. Just arrived in Pidgeon Forge. Will be at the park tomorrow and saturday. If the testing rumor is true and they test during thr day I'll get video!
  20. Jesus Christ the inside of the station looks incredible. Now with lines as well themed as Mystery Mine, and Firechaser, (hell even Wild Eagle takes a dump on any 'themeing' and six flags park has ever done shy of the Dark knight at Gadv) but I didnt think it would look THAT good. Excited to ride. Going up there for the second time this year next weekend for 4 days. Staring at this massive ride in all its glory not once but twice is gonna be agony, but i shall survive haha.
  21. I rode Dare Devil Dive as the new revolution this past weekend. I got lucky and got to the park before opening and made it on the third train. The VR makes the wait times go up astronomically so I'm sure even though it's at my home park, this was the only time I'll ever ride it just because of the wait times. Onto the experience itself it was actually incredible. I was jaded against the VR but after trying it it completely transformed the ride. My headset synced up pretty perfectly. It was one of the only times a roller coaster felt truly terrifying. I couldnt remember the layout so I felt like I was truly out of control on a ride. Everything felt floatier, like I was in a fighter jet instead of a coaster car. Overall I'd recommend it at least once for any of it's instillations. Do I think it will reshape the industry? No. I also hope it doesnt. I had an incredible experience but it didnt feel like a roller coaster at all. It was intense and fun, but it wasnt a roller coaster. I never realized how much what you see while riding adds to the experience. Anyway. That's my take on it.
