  1. El Toro Cloneo! It's compact and popular, only downside is cost and reliability of the cable lift.
  2. Trims on wild mouse coasters. Rye playland's mouse isn't trimmed (they haven't worked/been turned on in years). My dad was sore for weeks, but my friends and I LOVED it
  3. ^ Lol, true, true. Hard to call it the ugliest when you've got all the factories in northern Jersey and mile long grey warehouses along 95.
  4. Got this in a Six Flags New England survey... Here is a basic description of the interactive game. Please take a few moments to read it and then we'll ask you just a few questions about it. Note that this experience is specific to the Great Escape Lodge and would be played in conjunction with a stay at the Lodge. A mysterious Sludge Monster wants to turn the Great Escape Lodge into a dreary swamp. It has sent the goblin-like, trouble-making "Humdrums" -- goofy, terrible looking creatures who are mean, but not too smart -- to scare away all of the guests. Your mission is to save the Lodge! Armed with only your wits and a real life magic wand, you must complete tasks, answer questions, and earn points to solve the mystery of the Sludge Monster and drive away the Humdrums. Key features of the game: Interactive wands that players use to control the game at stations all over the Lodge. An imaginative storyline, directly tied to the Lodge and history of the area. Virtual guides who help the players solve tasks. Achievements and awards for completing task. This is very un-Six Flagsish, the king of minimal theming.
  5. Wildcat, Lake Compounce. Going out with a bang...literally...on my spine...several times...
  6. Still one of the Bizarro fanboys here! Still get that 'oh crap" moment! Coming in at a very close second, El Toro.
  7. Whooing if it's a great ride. Quiet if it's an okay ride. Laugher if it's rough of jerky. But if it's painful a laugh/scream/oh-no/ouch combination.
  8. Add this to TPR's list of torture devices... 1. Chinese knock-offs 2. Manhattan Express 3. Goudurix 4. Windjammer 5. Most of TOGO 6. Most of Vekoma 7. Arrow corkscrews and transitions 8. Son of Beast 9. Insane top spin that does 107 flips
  9. You might be a coaster nerd if...you risk your manliness and your friends by riding the Wacky Worm at the county fair because it's a credit.
  10. SFNE: Topper Track Cyclone and restore original drop. Put the old restraints back on Bizarro, heck, just rewind the coaster back to 2008 and never touch it. At least 5 more flats. Lake Compounce: Add another star coaster, you can't ride Boulder Dash all day. Keep free soda policy. SFGA: Add something good in the place of Rolling Thunder, not some kiddie area. At least 5 more flats. Rye Playland: Do not touch this park, give it some TLC, but don't turn it into a giant garden like the Sustainable Playland wants to.
  11. Yep. I thought it was as likely as an Intamin launched woodie, seriously. Now...if we could get that built...
  12. Well, I'm not a pneumatic air launch specialist, but I'm sure S&S is since they've made hundreds of launch towers and launching coasters. If they couldn't do it, I doubt anyone else could. 135 mph could've been one of those "pushing the limits of engineering" type of deals.
  13. There's a donkey or llama type of animal next to the stairs that lead to the DC area at SFNE. Too bad I don't have a picture.
  14. I was there that night. There must have been 1500-2000 people in the line for the Graveyard. In 2 hours of ride time I got in one ride on BD, Wildcat, and Enterprise.
  15. 1. El Toro (everything) 2. Cyclone (SFNE, the turnaround after the trim brakes is crazy!) 3. Boulder Dash, first turn 4. Boomerangs in the back seat 5. Nitro's helix
  16. Homemade skycoaster? Hell, you couldn't get me to go on an actual name-brand one!
  17. I love the funny commentaries for the crappy Asian knock-offs and rust buckets. But my favorite has to be the mouse coaster in NJ with a helix. "There's a helix on this thing! Who put a helix on a mouse?"..."Owwwww! Ohh! Owwww!"
  18. Sketchy. Very sketchy. A 300 foot wing rider is very weird. A 300 foot wing rider that only reaches 65 mph is weirder.
  19. 2 1/2 hours waiting for Bizarro (SFNE), the year of the re-theme. I remember sitting on the steps that lead to the station for a good 10 minutes. 2nd would be El Toro at 2 hours. Almost did Superman that day...but I waited 10 minutes, the line didn't move, so I did a rare thing- I gave up and left the line.
  20. Don't worry. Ski areas big and small are installing these. They're a huge money maker for summer and winter. What ski resort doesn't want that?
