  1. I'm sure if a park came to them with the $30+ million it'd take to build one, they would. There's just very few, if any parks that have the room or budget to build something so large.
  2. Wood: El Toro, Phoenix Steel: Steel Force, Apollo's Chariot
  3. I usually top out at 3-4 rides a day on one specific ride, except for Opening Day 2003 at Knoebel's during which I rode Twister 47 times.
  4. It gets worse when you're the one that actually graduates. I miss the hell out of high school.
  5. Gotta go with Cesari's here, despite jacking their prices up to $2.75 a slice. I can get an equally tasting slice by staying in Bloomsburg for $.75 less, but it's still the best I've had at any park I've been to.
  6. Millennium Force was 54" in 2000, making me too short to ride. They changed it to 48" the next year.
  7. Shame on us for liking and wearing good clothing.
  8. In no order: Asher Roth - "Lark On My Go-Kart" Busta Rhymes ft. T-Pain - "Hustlers Anthem '09" Drake - "Best I Ever Had" Eminem - "Beautiful" Eminem - "Deja Vu" Hootie & The Blowfish - "Let Her Cry" The Jimi Hendrix Experience - "Voodoo Child" Kanye West ft. Young Jeezy - "Amazing" Metallica - "One" Soulja Boy - "Turn My Swag On"
  9. I searched and was surprised to see noone has asked this question before (if this is a repeat thread, mods feel free to lock and delete). I was inspired by the coaster map thread that shows all of the parks, and it got me thinking: which region is the best to live in if you are a coaster enthusiast? Here's a rundown of the more notable parks: Northeast Six Flags Great Adventure Six Flags New England Lake Compounce Hersheypark Dorney Park Knoebel's Kennywood Waldameer Darien Lake Midwest Cedar Point Six Flags Great America Kings' Island Holiday World Indiana Beach Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom Beech Bend Six Flags St. Louis Worlds of Fun Valleyfair! Mt. Olympus/Wisconsin Dells Silver Dollar City Mid-Atlantic Six Flags America Busch Gardens Williamsburg Kings' Dominion South Six Flags Over Georgia Dollywood Walt Disney World Universal Studios Florida Islands of Adventure Sea World Orlando Busch Gardens Tampa Carowinds Freestyle Music Park Alabama Adventure Magic Springs & Crystal Falls Southwest Six Flags Over Texas Six Flags Fiesta Texas Kemah Boardwalk Sea World San Antonio Cliff's Amusement Park West (Coast) Six Flags Magic Mountain Disneyland California Adventure Legoland California California's Great America Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Universal Studios Hollywood Silverwood ---------------------------------------------------------------- The bias in me says Northeast, but it's hard to go against the South or Midwest in this one.
  10. Just got back after a quick visit...no new news on either Kozmo's Kurves or Flying Turns. There was a line of footers without track at the Turns, which I'm guessing is where the transfer track will go, and still the same new footers at KK. It's so hard to walk by the Turns because I just want to ride it so damn bad
  11. That looks like it'll be a juiced up version of Ravine Flyer 3. Not bad. Good news on the Turns too...can't wait to finally ride it, but I hope they haven't tamed it to the point where it'll be boring.
  12. Just google "free image resizer" and you should find some good places. Also, a trick that I learned: 1. Paste picture into Microsoft Word 2. Shrink or enlarge it as much as you want 3. Hit the print screen button on your keyboard and paste back into Paint 4. Cut out what you don't want 5. Save
  13. No excuse for #2 though. As a now former competitive basketball player I really can't find a good reason why he made that pass. Not only was Ariza on him, but he wasn't even THAT open. He still had like 2 more seconds to inbound the ball, wait for Billups, Melo, or Smith to pop back up, or (I'm not sure what their timeout situation was at the time) call a timeout and draw something new up. It was just too risky of a pass to make at that point.
  14. I saw the members of NSYNC at Hersheypark back in 2000, I guess they were having a concert at the stadium later that night.
  15. Denver totally crapped that game away. Waste of an awesome performance by Melo. Anthony Carter, what were you thinking on that inbounds play? What a lazy pass.
  16. It's been leaked for a few weeks and just released today, but Eminem's new album Relapse is pretty good. It's not quite on par with The Marshall Mathers LP or The Eminem Show, but it's better than Encore, his last album. It's a good mix of serious and funny, messed up stuff. Can't wait for Relapse 2 later this year.
  17. ^Assumed wrong Vprobably doesn't like Eminem or rap music
  18. I guess you can consider me "lucky", as I was born, raised, and still live just 10-15 minutes from Knoebel's and have other family that live right down the road, and I'm within 2 hours of both Hershey and Dorney. As far as Knoebel's goes, it's one of those few parks that mixes tradition and nostalgia with some really good rides. To tell you the truth, when I first started looking at coaster websites and saw that Knoebel's was A) known by non-locals and that B) Phoenix was so highly thought of, I was shocked. I thought the park was Northeastern/Central PA's best kept secret. The whole place is just awesome and it's an experience you can't find in many other places. Hershey and Dorney are obviously the more corporate parks, but are still good in their own right, Hershey being an above average park. I hope to one day go out west and hit up Kennywood and Waldameer, but for now I'm satisfied with what I have.
  19. According to RCDB, the new kiddie coaster will be named Kozmo's Kurves. New credits never hurt. Count me in as a fan of the Black Diamond name, can't wait to see it in action. I'm getting more discouraged by the day about the Flying Turns. I have little hope left that they can open it this year. Did they say anything about what else they had to do other than rebuild those two sections?
  20. I have a soft spot for Magnum. I first went to CP in 2000, and this was before I was a real "fan" of roller coasters. Being that I was too short to ride MF, Raptor, and Mantis, Magnum was the biggest ride I could go on. I was petrified going up the hill but absolutely loved the rest. I rode again in 2003, and while it wasn't mind-blowing like the first ride was, it was still decent. I'd say it's my least favorite hyper/gigacoaster behind MF, Nitro, Steel Force, and Apollo's Chariot, but it's still a good ride. I can see why some people don't like it, though. Oh, and the sign's pretty cool.
  21. I lucked out and got Montu as my 50th, but I don't really care what goes where, as long as you ride them. If you are looking to make it "memorable" though, I'd go with Storm Runner.
  22. I don't think you'll regret it. Talon and Steel Force are the only things you're really missing out on, but Hershey's collection will make up for that and then some.
  23. That's not the issue. The Red Sox (Fenway) and Cubs (Wrigley) play in older stadiums. The Yankees wanted more luxury boxes to maximize revenue, and the only way to do so was to build a brand spanking new stadium. I still prefer Camden Yards, but I'm biased.
