  1. PPP is included, but from what we've been told from Knoebel's, you don't actually have to be a member of any club to go to PPP. We will "promote" it with Club TPR and encourage our Club TPR members to attend the event, but you don't need to be a card carrying member of any club to attend. That makes sense. I forgot I attended PPP '03 without being a member of any club
  2. I was on the fence previously, but after reading about all the perks and benefits, I'm sold. Hopefully PPP will be included in that whole deal.
  3. It looks promising though. Oh happy day.
  4. That's what I thought, they even have a Kodak stockcar too. Could they be a possible sponsor? They even have the Cole Trickle Mello Yellow car from Days of Thunder as Clint pointed out...I'd like to get my hands on that
  5. Jeff Gordon car FTW...although I was under the impression this would be an Earnhardt-only area. EDIT: Or maybe they're going to repaint it, a more likely option.
  6. Mark Cuban really wanted to buy them, but there's no way the other owners would've approved it. Shame, because that guy loves to win. I will say this though, they do have some nice young talent at the ML level and have a few prospects that are highly touted (Jose Tabata, Pedro Alvarez, Brad Lincoln, and Tim Alderson come to mind), so I could see them making a little push in a few years.
  7. Or maybe they'll continually add little pieces to it until the formal announcement, during which time they'll finish it? That'd be my best guess.
  8. I will say that after looking at the mountain they put it on, it really does look like the mountain across from the front of Knoebel's where the Skyway is, but I know better. Even though they have been working with GCI with Flying Turns trains (IIRC) and that mountain is perfect for that ride, it's too much money for them to have tied up with FT and Black Diamond.
  9. I know there's zero chance, but Knoebel's would be an ideal place for a ride like this. That's like my ultimate dream ride for the park, but with the never-ending Flying Turns construction and Black Diamond, there's no chance that this is ours.
  10. When I grow up, I want to be like The Situation.
  11. Well me personally, I only work part time to begin with and am starting nursing school in the fall which will cut my hours even more. Not to mention it'll be $25,000 a year. I think there are some legitimate reasons why people can't afford it, but of course that won't stop me from trying to. My nursing degree cost less than $6000, total, and I graduated only 3 years ago! RN or LPN?
  12. Put me in the group that's impressed, but this is coming from someone who's never been to a Disney park or seen one of their shows (supposedly) similar to this.
  13. No more fun? Really? There's no movie theaters or bowling alleys or parents basements to hang out in? Young people will always find something to do, this will not have any correlation to crime imho. University of Louisville sporting events, the Louisville Bats (Reds AAA team) play there. Two among many other entertainment options.
  14. I wouldn't be surprised if it was next on the chopping block. Unless I'm forgetting something, they haven't added a marquee attraction since Batwing, and that was nearly a decade ago.
  15. Hopefully the shuttle loop is saved. That's the only thing I really care about as far as the park closing goes.

  17. Would love to go on the Japan trip, but the plane tickets are ridiculous. A round trip flight from Philly to Tokyo is $1100. Part time jobs don't exactly make that affordable.
  18. Florida brings in another monster haul despite Urban Meyer's status still up in the air. If you go by Rivals.com, UF pulled in three defensive lineman who were top 10 recruits, one being Ronald Powell who is (pretty much) the consensus top player in the country. I feel bad for the rest of the SEC, because it's starting to become a 2-team league. Nobody's touching Florida or Alabama.
  19. Nick Markakis of the Orioles. If god was a right fielder, he'd be this guy.
  20. I personally like it, but I know a ton of people have been criticizing/making fun of it already, and it's not even been official for 24 hours. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed they didn't announce that they would be adding the iPhone to Verizon, but this looks pretty cool.
  21. I'm probably reaching here, but maybe they have something else planned for Laser's old spot. I certainly hope so, because even with Possessed down there, that section is still kinda empty.
  22. I didn't watch Cancun or Brooklyn at all, but I've been watching this one. I used to watch religiously from Seattle to Austin, but lost interest after that. I'd have to say Hawaii, Back to New York, and San Diego were my favorites with Vegas close behind. Watching Andrew trying to get laid is like watching a trainwreck.
  23. The best things in life are free couldn't be a more true statement.
  24. Phoenix and Twister...especially Twister. There's something about it being dark that makes that ride go nuts.
  25. - Favorite new coaster: El Toro - Most memorable park moment: walking through Cedar Point when we suddenly got dumped on by a monsoon...had to take cover under Iron Dragon's station - Most memorable coaster moment: First rides on Millennium Force and Dragster - Best ERT session: Technically not ERT, but riding Twister 47 times on Opening Day in 2003 - Least favorite coaster: Roller Soaker - Least favorite ride: Super RoundUp's and Power Surges - Least favorite park: Lakemont...caught it on a bad day - The decade's biggest flop: Son Of Beast, Hard Rock Park - The decade's biggest success: Holiday World - The best meal you've had at a park: anything at Knoebel's - The worst meal you've had at a park: the still-frozen mozz sticks I got at SFGAdv - Best park turnaround: Kemah - Worst park turnaround: Geauga Lake/SFWoA - What was the biggest trend of this past decade?: Intamin coasters
