  1. For some reason, I thought that the building would be bigger than what it is.
  2. This is a clinic...I love it.
  3. Weird you had an issue on Woodstock Express...when I got the credit I didn't even have to ask, I just got on. I have to say though, I've been going to Dorney since I was about 6, and I've never experienced long lines there, and I have yet to read a TR that mentioned long lines. Very odd to say the least.
  4. I'll have to respectfully disagree on those two teams. Carolina and Dallas have built pretty good franchises and have won Stanley Cups since moving from their original cities. Even Tampa somehow managed a Stanley Cup, although that team is atrocious nowadays. I agree on the Wild being a pretty horrifically awful nickname for a franchise, only slightly above the Oklahoma City Thunder as the worst nickname in pro sports. The relocated teams winning cups really has nothing to do with them moving markets. What I think he was getting at was that even Hartford would be a better market for hockey again over places like Florida, Atlanta, Nashville, or Phoenix. I also wouldn't say Bettman isn't the reason hockey isn't back in Canada, it's more of the cities being the reason. NHL expects the cities to have better updated arenas before teams can go back. I guarantee that as soon as Quebec City's new arena is built the Nordiques will be back. Winnipeg is the only one with a new arena...problem is it only seats 15,000. Copps Coliseum in Hamilton is borderline ancient, as is Colisee Pepsi in QC.
  5. I'll tell you what, as amazing of a football player that Diego Maradona was, he is probably one of the worst managers in the world. I wouldn't be shocked at all to see Argentina flame out in the group stage. As far as who I like/don't like, off the top of my head: FAVORITES: Spain, Brazil, England SLEEPERS: Netherlands, Germany, Ivory Coast, Nigeria OVERRATED: Argentina, France, Portugal, Italy, Mexico And by sleepers, I mean teams that have a chance to make a deep run, not necessarily win the whole thing.
  6. Wow...Flyers were down 3-0 in the first period and have come back to tie it. Danny Briere is finally earning that contract we gave him.
  7. My only ride on Millennium Force happened while it was raining, and it was unbelievable.
  8. Phoenix by a comfortable margin. As for my other local parks: Dorney: Talon Hershey: Storm Runner
  9. Lightning Racer and Gemini.
  10. I can understand that...since the Sharks, the only expansion or moved teams that didn't replace another team that have worked out have been the Ducks and to an extent, the Hurricanes. You could possibly make a case for the Blue Jackets because they have a decent fan base, but they've only made the playoffs once.
  11. Sorry, but this statement is complete BS. There are PLENTY of hockey fans who still watch ESPN, and can remember when the network did wonders for the league. If you'd like to place blame on someone for ESPN's lack of coverage, find Gary Bettman and have a word with him. Yes. In fact, I've been nominating Phoenix, Nashville, Atlanta, Tampa, and Florida for that role years now. I'd even go a step further and give Hartford the Whalers back, and let Minnesota have the North Stars back as well. The "Wild" remains the WORST name of any of the "Big 4" professional sports teams. Finally, Barry Melrose is awesome. Period. It would be a little repetitive to have two teams named the Stars and North Stars in the same league, not to mention Dallas took the North Stars history, so I was cool with the "new team, new name" idea, and the Wild is a MUCH better name than the Oklahoma City Thunder (coming from a Thunder fan). And the way things are going it doesn't look like Canada is getting a team back until Bettman is gone, because for some reason he's dead set against it. Winnipeg for sure needs a team, Quebec City as well if they get a new arena. Not sure about Hamilton because of the proximity of Buffalo and Toronto, but the previous two deserve the Jets and Nordiques back.
  12. This is from someone that's never been there, I think they should go for something like a floorless or a rocket coaster instead of getting a more juiced up version of Behemoth just to give them a more "complete" coaster collection. Out of the 15 coasters they have, I've only heard consistently good reviews on Behemoth and Vortex, the rest being mediocre to bad or kiddie coasters.
  13. The main reason the Jets left was because they couldn't get a new arena, which isn't an issue now. Selling out the arena wouldn't be a problem either, they'd do it with ease. Hell, the Winnipeg Free Press had a chat room/stream for last night's Glendale City Council meeting and there were nearly 5,000 people in it.
  14. The Rangers are actually a really good sleeper pick if their pitching holds up. The Angels and Mariners aren't playing well and I don't think the A's will hang around the whole year, so the AL West is wide open.
  15. Glendale City Council approved a plan that would see the city paying up to $25 million of the Coyotes losses next year (which is almost a sure thing). IMO this whole thing is a joke. Phoenix gets to keep the Coyotes, who barely anyone cares about, while Seattle lost the Sonics...it's not fair. Winnipeg deserves the Jets again.
  16. Call me partial, but Phoenix's pre-lift tunnel...especially when they do it up for PPP.
  17. Out of Lightning Racer and Wildcat, I prefer Lightning Racer. The Millennium Flyers helped Wildcat, but it's still not the most pleasant experience. Lightning Racer still runs like it did in 2000.
  18. Believe it or not Gerut was a highly touted prospect at one time and had a really good rookie season (.830 OPS), but faded into obscurity after that.
  19. Whirlwind at Knoebel's and Sidewinder at Hershey are (was, in Whirlwind's case) torture chambers.
  20. There's a good chance the U.S. lands the World Cup again in 2018 or 2022, and if Brazil continues to drop the ball with building stadiums and infrastructure for 2014, we'd be a good fill-in candidate, so don't feel too bad about skipping out on next year. I really wouldn't want to go to South Africa anyway.
  21. I'd be willing to bet my car on it.
  22. Now that place I have a hard time spending money at despite liking their stuff...I bought a thick winter jacket in there for $100, mind you it was 50% off. I've never felt so dirty about buying something, but at least the jacket's warm.
  23. Ehhh...I wouldn't call it stupid at all. Overpiced? Maybe, but their clothes are really high quality.
  24. Meh...I'd rather play it safe instead of risk the possibility of being judged.
