Outlaw Run- very loud, definitely will get complaint Others- from the videos, NTaG is almost Gerstlauer silent. I believe that they should be able to use the polyurethane wheels like they did on Goliath to make it quieter (Goliath's initial test runs did have some noise, but now that coaster isn't loud at all). They are going with nylon wheels on TC and WC. Their track manufacturing is accurate enough to ensure smoothness. The top layers need to be replaced every 5 years so the track damage from nylon wheels doesn't matter anyway. -

I know, right? I've thought about that too and I don't know how it's done. The car is very light, operators can push it up click by click. -

That's such a relief. It's the matter of time now, hopefully it will happen just as planned. -

Those aren't sensors. Or at least not ones made by Allen Bradley or Siemens. I believe those are for the smaller chains. It's pretty clear in this picture of the top of the hill. And it looks like there's two channels running parallel, but I'm not sure what purpose they serve. And there can't be anything connected between the two because of how the top sprocket is connected. Thanks for pointing that out. I guess those two chains are for movable maintenance/evacuation platform. If the chains for the car snapped, those two chains can still work so that's why desperate chains are needed. Does it make sense? -

^ Ouch! My OCD is screaming now Doesn't matter, I will find an angle from which the track looks at the center of the tower anyway -

Nerd question: what are the E shaped parts with green components inside for? The grey layer on top of the right side's part must be the magnet for silent anti-rollback and the chain is close to the right rail. Could those be sensors? Also there seems to be more than one chains as there are gears for different chain sizes. -
Apparently doctor isn't happy with his blind date Other blind date groups are doing amazingly well! Can't wait to see the next episode!

This is just depressing. Hope RMC got their insurance money, given that they already started on Wildfire's track production. -
TPR Facebook Questions
gerstlaueringvar replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1. Do you have your videos set to auto-play on your: a. desktop computer b. mobile device? (or if you don't know, just tell us if the videos auto-play or not in your newsfeed.) Mobile device. 2. Do you regularly "share" content from Facebook "page" (like the TPR page) to your own personal Facebook page? And have you shared something from the TPR page? Yes, yes 3. What kind of content are you most likely to share? (Videos, Photos, News Stories, etc?) Videos, news and link to forums 4. How long on average do you watch a video posted to Facebook for? Do you watch the entire video? First 30 seconds? Until you get bored? As long as I think I got what I'm interested in. Usually 80% of the video. 5. How important are "video thumbnails" to you? (the image you see with the > Play icon before you click to watch a video) Not very important 6. What do you like/dislike about Facebook? What features do you use the most and which ones annoy you? None 7. Is there anything that TPR does or doesn't do on Facebook that you think we should be doing more/less of? Everything is great, maybe some more parks/rides/etc related games like Coaster Roulette would get people more excited. -

I kind of wish "Panorama Curve" can get replaced by something more original. Cheetah Hunt's Figure 8 is such a signature element that needs to stay exclusive. Just like Gatekeeper's 0G rolls, Thriller's double loop, Outlaw Run's double barrel roll, the whole Olympia Looping and Lisebergbanan's helix. -

I remember seeing somewhere about computers are getting so good that roller coaster engineers are trying to calculate the perfect banking so that side wheels and upstop wheels won't be needed anymore. Love it how people just assume accurate calculation can solve everything -

Now that Intamin is working with Ride Centerline, we can probably see some great combinations of Intamin intensity and Alan Schilke/Joe Draves awesome layout in the future. Basically Aquatrax with Zero G Stall, Wave Turn, overbanked turn with airtime and other funky elements. -

Great photos, thank you for the update! The High Five looks really tight in the pictures, much better than in the animation Scream's color looks much better than before. With all the new things coming up, Road Runner Express repaint and the wood that looks like they are going on Apocalypse, I have high hope about SFMM this year.
