  1. ^ Looks great! yours seems like more in the B&M direction as I guess it would not give heavy lateral with the highly banked drop, love the twistiness! Here are today's updates, I finished around 70% of the queue line. This is so 80's... Or at least I think it is. As you exit the ride, another train full of satisfied riders just ended their exciting ride. I set up some turns at the long straight sections to prevent stupid people from running and get hurt. Want to wait in a line with this view? Hey there! As you enter the station, the train enters the tunnel. Ride operator's view I swear nobody wants it to look different than I305 than I do! But this is just how Mindbender's color look like! You know you're at a Six Flags park when... This is a view exclusive to the Flash Pass users!
  2. And I thought the new Premier trains weren't open-air enough...
  3. The place is so beautiful that I still dreamed about it every month. Well done SDC!
  4. Here's a thought: LSM magnetic fins can function as magnetic brakes when electricity is off right? First time the train passes the LSM section, no current is in the magnets so the train slows down for a roll back on the overbanked turn. When it passes the LSM again, a minor current is applied to accelerate the train a bit more, then it rolls back from the dive loop+double down. When the train passes through the LSM for the third time, a strong current is applied to launch the train and finish the course. Kind of like YOLOcoaster without stopping the train. That way there are three sweet airtime hills!
  5. ^ Thank you so much! Can't wait to release it next Monday!
  6. Wildfire for sure, that whole thread was a blast. Such a good time!
  7. This thread was created roughly 7 years ago, at least 50% of the posts are there to comment on the stupid posts, so there are roughly 70 posts per year that get recognised and appeared here. That's quite good for such a big website! Plus this thread pretty much subscribed to DarienLaker's posts lately.
  8. Here are the photos for today!! Right now I am creating queue lines and other details around this attraction. Come back for more exciting updates tomorrow!! Overall layout of the coaster Wave Turn! This is part of the new element. Twisty! Brake and maintenance area Airtime!! Want some intense airtime? More twistiness!
  9. Four new pictures for today! Please tell me what you think
  10. This is getting so much more interested! The track is very twisted and that's a good thing for Intamin.
  11. I'm talking about the shape of the 0G parabola, it can approach 90 degrees but never reach 90 degrees. An arc needs to be there to achieve 90 degrees or beyond 90 degrees, or help achieve the ideal degree faster. Shorter train or longer train, higher capacity can be achieved. For example: 6 rows of 6 across seating trains, more block brakes, trim brakes etc.
  12. If they follow the path of 0G, it's impossible to achieve 90 degrees. If you look closer to the track of most coasters with 90 degrees or beyond 90 degrees drops, you'll find that the top part of the drops are arcs instead of parabolas. The arc helps with achieving 90 degrees or beyond 90 degrees, also helps applying even force on the chain box for coasters with lifts. Examples here: the arcs end a bit after the lift/launch/holding brake ends. The rest of the drop is parabolic shaped because these manufacturers aren't SBF. I think beyond vertical drops is surely possible to achieve on Giga coasters, a 95 degrees 350ft drop won't be too intense for human to handle as long as the lift isn't SkyRush fast.
  13. This is spoiler!!! Now we know how the hybrid would look like!
  14. I've created a coaster system with my own track and train. On NL2, Schwarzkopf classic looper is the closest system that I can use to represent this system. Donnerbahn is kind of a mix between Mega-Lite and Infinity Coaster with a new element called Immelmann Floater Dive which gives you a combination of ejector airtime and crazy lateral. Hourly capacity can reach up to 1200pph with three train operation, station design is similar to that of Millennium Force so sufficient load and unload time is guaranteed. 12 airtime moments, 3 overbanked turns, 2 inversions, 2 trick tracks, an underground tunnel and 9 crazy twists are all packed into this compact structure and you won't get a second to catch your breath after the train pulls you down the 100ft tall, 87 degrees first drop at 53 mph. Length of the track is only 3039 ft so imagine how insane the ride is! As my first NL2 release since I joined NL2 this Janauary, this coaster was originally planned to release on March 31st. But after I started with this project, I realized March 16th will be Edmonton Mall Mindbender's 30th Birthday so I changed the teal and grey color scheme into Mindbender's red, yellow and white then made a few modifications here and there. I will post at least one photo everyday on this thread until the release date. The track will be available on both TPR Game Exchange and NLE, TPR release will be 5 hours earlier. Please tell me what you think about it! Your review means a lot to me.
  15. ^ I feel sorry for Xi'an, Lewa and Happy Valley can drag down their park taste even further.
  16. That may be true, but there's no reason to egg on him like that. If the stuff he thinks is what he thinks, then we should let him think it. Wouldn't kill anyone. Try other sites and you'll know how nice of TPR for having a thread for stupid posts
  17. If this is the first overbanked turn in the world, my world would be shocked. Can anyone confirm if it's an overbanked turn or just a turn?
  18. Great TR! The park looks very interesting with a great collection of rides. How's Giant Drop compared to Lex Luthor?
  19. Yup, Fox is not a reliable source as always.
  20. People can only stand extreme force for a certain amount of time. Even if it's within the safety range, it would get uncomfortable when it last for like 4 seconds.
  21. Now that's definitely at the intense side! That transition is even a bit faster than Parrot Coaster's! Hope it's not a nylon wheels+faster launch to prevent valleying thing but a permanent thing!
  22. "So you like roller coasters? Humm aren't they all the same? Why do you like playing with those toys for kids? You're so childish! " Excuse me, you call hitting a ball with a stick an adult activity??
  23. White Lightning used steel supports and Goliath like structure isn't impossible. Woodies are much cheaper than steel coasters, so I think it's actually more likely to happen.
  24. While the majority of us know how to secure our GoPros and can make sure they don't fall out, idiots are still out there and they will be ticking bombs if they are allowed to take their GoPro on the rides. Ride systems are designed to be operated by a bunch of 14-year-olds, coaster parts are designed to face all kinds of crazy weather and still function properly. So I think park rules are designed to ensure maximum safety so idiots won't kill the riders and blow up the rides. Those who know how to use and secure their technologies just have to deal with the fact that idiots are park visitors too. When accident does happen, park needs to take more responsibility if causing loose articles were allowed on ride. That can mean millions of dollars in court.
  25. GCI used polyurethane wheels and silent anti-rollback on Wodan so that's not really a problem.
