  1. I've only been to SFNE twice, but I enjoyed both visits. I even got to ride the Sky Ride in its last year of operation. Only real downside was an incredibly obnoxious ride op on the SLC who wouldn't stop screeching into the mic, though that may have just been her attempt to deter people from riding the SLC in the first place. Bring on Compounce!!!!
  2. I can't wait until we find out the park was using these teasers to just flip the bird to the coaster geek community all along. _|_ _|_
  3. I mean, I know plenty of people don't have issues with it, but as a tall guy with big, muscularly thighs, I'm pretty much screwed.
  4. Yep, this was pretty much my reaction as well, haha. Glad you loved it! I agree with you about the layout of Superman, but the restraints kill it for me, and this is from someone who loves Skyrush. Each ride on it absolutely crushed the lower part of my thighs. If they ever get the T-bar back (doubt it), then I'll reconsider my opinion of it. Look forward to the rest!
  5. Having just visited Great Escape on Monday, I guess I could've gotten on that kiddie coaster, too, but I'd say I made the better choice of not outright embarrassing myself.
  6. I think an addition to the water park is overdue at this point, especially with Roller Soaker's station still sitting there. Looking forward to the announcement!
  7. There used to be a lot in the former Old Country section - Spinmeister (Enterprise), Musik Express, bumper cars, Pendulum (now at SFGAm), Freefall, Chiller (and before that the scrambler and Space Shuttle), Splashwater Falls, etc, not to mention food stands and even game stands. I'd love to see it reopen, but people need to recognize that it'll need a significant monetary investment to get it back up and running. It's not as easy as just reopening that pathway; it's completely understandable why current management wouldn't want guests to walk past all of the abandoned, run-down buildings just for the sake of a shorter walk. Besides, they've gone on record as saying a pathway has to be monetized in a way for it to be worthwhile. It's a business, after all.
  8. Man, I did not think that talking about roller coasters could not get any more uncool, but after watching that video...
  9. Awesome report, Bill!! Top quality as always, including the new classic: Man, and I thought I was lucky with a night ride in the front row with fog and rain. A friggin' thunderstorm with lightning? I can't imagine it getting any better than that.
  10. ^ SFGAdv has been having a food truck festival the last couple of years now in the spring. I haven't been able to attend yet, but it's gotten pretty strong reviews and definitely brings in people who wouldn't otherwise visit the park.
  11. Pictures look great! Definitely on my list if I ever make it out to the UAE! Something I couldn't really tell from the photos is how busy the place was. What kind of crowds did you see?
  12. A bridge, you say? Color me intrigued... EDIT: Looked up a photo elsewhere. Looks really good! I like that it creates a bit of a break between the sections. Anything that adds landscaping is a win in my book. Can't wait to check it out Saturday morning!
  13. As much as I love the music from Hamilton, I think a big portion of the popularity of seeing Hamilton in person at the moment (and paying those exorbitant prices) is derived from an idea within some theater fans' minds that attending a show at this point in time can actually be used as a status symbol of sorts. Most of my friends from my theater days are rational people, but I have seen a couple who have flat out bragged how "money wasn't an issue", they just HAD to see it ASAP. I'll wait until prices are more reasonable.
  14. Glad to hear you had a great time! As a theater geek myself (I was the treasurer for the musical theater troupe in college), I'm disappointed that I haven't been able to make it to more shows on Broadway (I saw Jersey Boys right before that run ended and saw the West Side Story revival a few years ago). I'm taking my cousin to see Wicked in Philly in August, so that should be a good time. I'm with you on Miss Saigon - I saw a production in Reading, PA, several years ago and really loved it. I may have to make a trip back up to NYC to see the revival.
  15. Wow, I didn't realize just how much farther behind JL construction was at SFMM versus SFGAdv and SFOG.
  16. ^ Hydrus is 10 tickets, which equates in most circumstances to $10. However, there are a bunch of specials that the park runs during the week. You can find a breakdown here.
  17. Sounds like an awesome day, Josh, glad you had a blast! That's a shame about Bizarro, because opening weekend they were hauling for the first time in what seems like forever. Nitro...I don't know what happened to them, but for the last couple of years or so they've been mediocre at best. Too busy talking to each other.
  18. That's really strange, but thanks for reinforcing my decision to stay away from coaster enthusiast events.
  19. Excellent report, Bert! Always love following along. Yea, that's about right.
  20. Did you happen to ride Thunderbolt, Larry? If so, does it seem to be riding any differently, or is it still suffering from the same roughness people have previously pointed out?
  21. Seems very "Dorney Park" to me. Glad you had fun!!
