You do realize that would be after the MCBR, so that would pace it much better? -

CGA got Gold Striker in 2013. Valleyfair's last major coaster addition was Renegade in 2007. If CGA did get another major coaster before Valleyfair, it would spell out how much major investment Valleyfair would get afterward. -

Yet Lagoon has yet to play any records, besides tallest coaster in the park. The biggest marketing they have (or had) is that it will "eat" other coasters. Even though it's the tallest beyond-vertical drop in world and steepest drop in the U.S. -

Thinking that in a serious business like amusement parks, and the huge surge and success of RMC is around, they would be idiotic to think wooden coasters are obsolete. -

There is NO CONTRACT. It's called RMC is still a new company, can only do a few coasters a year, and Six Flags were the ones who jumped on the hybrids first. No contract. I think there's something where RMC can't built taller than Goliath for a few years. Yes, but that isn't a contract where they can only build hybrids at Six Flags parks. -

The announcement said the highest inversion is 140 ft. I would believe the first one would be the tallest. -

A reason they went "in-house" with this coaster is to help save on the initial cost. -

If you look at construction photos of the tower, you can see how it's dual lift. -

Well they had to put pilings into the ground because of how the land is very loose and prone to earthquakes. Also, there's the entire rock-work/waterfall feature and the two temples, and the entire Cannibal Tower (with only a duel elevator lift system,) probably cost a pretty penny in itself. I can see 22-million used up pretty quickly with this ride without any gyro table or free-fall drop. -

Lagoon would be flattered, but it's better to save up for it in a few years. -

You know, the 12-year additions really make this park MUCH more of a destination than before. Once you look at what the place was like BEFORE that time and what has been added in only 12 years, (which really is not a long time for many major projects,) this place has definitely improved. They are looking at giving a full park than adding that one BIG ride that would be complimented by nothing. Now would be the perfect time to look at a major project, but I can think of multiple cheap thrill rides, renovations, and an updated kid's area that can also be added to make this park a great one. -

It's more of unexpected than a disappointment. It's still a ride that is quite fun, just doesn't seem like Busch Gardens to get a coaster that you would find at other parks, ESPECIALLY Six Flags. It's not a bad coaster, just an odd choice for Busch Gardens. -
Which rides have given you greyouts?

For me, Fire Dragon at Lagoon does on the second loop. Not every time, but it's because I have found a way to keep myself from graying out by breathing a certain way on it. -

From what it seems like, a loosly themed African/Tribal theme. I don't think it will be completely known until opening. I just know it will contain the two temples with the elephant and rhino, and have 3 old lion statues from Utah's state capitol. -

It's for access to the elevator system for maintenance. So I took some photos on Thursday outside of Lagoon when they were installing a piece of track, although I didn't realize it until I looked back at the photos so I only got photos of them installing the piece. Here are some of the photos from that day. NOTE: I have an old, busted camera that has the black dots inside the lens and shows up in every picture. Sorry for the nuisance. Here is Cannibal from afar! Wicked sure does look like a jealous middle-child, but the skyline definitely looks amazing from here! Here is where you see the track piece in the air being put into place. Something not mentioned here much, but Roller Coaster is currently going through a complete rebuild that has been going on for years now. This off-season, the lift is getting the love! Track piece is installed! Directly looking at the drop in front. So many cranes are on site for this ride. Reason is because of how great the weather is for a Utah December. It almost reached 60 degrees this day, with no sign of getting colder. The ride looks great from it's right side. However, the dots really do ruin some great photos. The completely right side of Cannibal is breathtaking with that drop! Here is some twisty track laying in the field. There's actually a lot of track and supports laying all around in the overflow parking lot. I felt so naughty taking a picture of Cannibal's back side. Something not seen or known too well, but the Lagoon Trail that borders the south and east side of Lagoon gets VERY close to Rattlesnake Rapids. This shows the ride down for the year. Figured it would be a cool photo to share. To end these construction photos, here is a complete left-side silhouette of Cannibal's drop. Thanks for viewing! -

If any major addition would come, it would be those Disk O Coasters. It's a nice fit for MA when not thinking of a major thrill attraction. -

This is wrong. Wicked is designed and engineered by Dal Freeman. The only part the Stengel firm had was to give a second opinion, on the request of Zierer. That wouldn't explain any reason why ART Engineering would then have been a part of both Bombora and Cannibal then. If they were designed and engineered by Dal Freeman, why would ART need to be a part of it? -

I seem to recall having this discussion when banshee first started construction. Everyone kept saying the track is the same, the trains just require more distance between the track and other objects (supports, station walls, etc). I remember talk of the track having to become wider as well. I can't remember where exactly I heard it. -

NOOOO!! Raptor is perfect the way it is. Plus Banshee had to have wider track for those trains, so they can't install the new trains on older rides. Reason why they also weren't used for Rougarou. -

I wouldn't worry about that, Wicked was built in house as well and it's smooth as butter except for one small piece of track near the final break run. The only other in-house coaster at Lagoon is Bombora. Wicked's design was from Dal Freeman from Lagoon, but it was engineered by the stengel group and manufactured by Zierer.
