  1. So, here is all of the information about Cannibal (with a few pictures taken by the respected media) that I have collected. Source: Lagoonisfun.com via Lagoon Park Tower Height: 208 Feet Drop Angle: 116 Degrees Track Length: 2,735 Feet Ride Time: 2 ½ minutes Maximum G Force: 4.2 G’s Maximum Speed: 70 miles per hour Three Inversions: Inverted Loop, Diving Loop, Uknown 3rd inversion (said to be one-of-a-kind) Maximum Height Inversion: 140 Feet Tall Underground Tunnel: 20 ft Water Features Riders Per Car: 12 Rider Capacity Per Hour: 1,200 Budget: $22 Million From simple addition and knowing the underground tunnel is the bottom of the drop, Cannibal's drop will be 228 ft. Not confirmed, however. Onto the photos! Examples of Water Features to be presented on the ride. Source: Fox 13 Cannibal's 208 ft. tower and part of the layout. 2. The same way Disney does the majority of their rides in house. Wicked was designed in-house but they hired Zierer to bring the ride to reality (launch system, track, vehicles, etc). Cannibal is fully in-house with no outside help. Of course different companies, mostly local, are being brought in to manufacture and construct it, but every last bit was designed and engineered in-house. Well I know that disney has a dedicated engineering staff, but it seems strange to me that this mid-sized park would. The reason why Lagoon is such a unique place. A historic park with some of the oldest rides in the world that still keeps modernizing and has a great group behind them with Dal Freeman.
  3. Reason why I stopped when he said I was the one being rude. If someone else sees something other than what your saying no matter what, it's the same affect saying it to a wall. I just think Cedar Fair will add something new and amazing to Valleyfair! as the place has huge potential for a big ride.
  4. Big words for a 100% in-house project. I mean, I have faith that it will be an excellent ride but that sounds like they're claiming greatest ever, haha. Good for Lagoon, though, because this will definitely have me making a trip up to SLC again next summer. Nothin' like an overnight 6-hour car ride through the middle of nowhere (seriously, Utah is EMPTY) to make you appreciate a park. Well, marketing can say anything they want to when they aren't talking about actual facts.
  5. It seems for now the only information will be out of that article as they get new information and they keep re-editing it. Sounds great so far, but definitely will be breaks on the drop as the rest of the ride looks to be half the height of the drop.
  6. But what is happening here for next year? I haven't heard a thing about what next year could be for this place, when big investments were said to be happening.
  7. That was extremely rude... You don't know what they are getting so it is fixed, but you don't care because it's not your home park and that is very ignorant. Just because you don't go to the park doesn't mean no one does and that is why Cedar Fair is investing in this place.
  8. And Free Spins uses magnets to help it flip. Also, instead of an unbalanced car, you get separate turning radius for each set of two seats. I believe there is enough difference to warrent one be better than the other.
  9. You know if Mantis does get the overhaul, I hope some good money is put into some extremely nice themeing. Banshee is exceptional for Cedar Fair, so hopefully we see a nicely themed ride instead of just a sign for Cedar Point?
  10. It would be horrible marketing to say getting rid of a coaster is a good thing. That would be Cedar Point saying we made a bad decision investing in a multi-million dollar coaster. I believe we are seeing some type of upgrade to make the experience better, and enough to market the ride as new. It all points to floorless or sit-down trains, or SOMETHING that will change the ride experience without completely tearing down the coaster.
  11. They sound like some of the older folks over at SFSTL thread. At least they have a somewhat legitimate beef, unlike KD. But SFSTL hasn't had a major coaster for quite a long time, and the biggest thing they have gotten was a relocated boomerang. If they got an I305, you KNOW they would shut up and thank the Six Flags Gods.
  12. The problem is how expensive Fury 325 is, plus the new entrance, and water park expansions in 3 or 4 of their parks do become a bit pricey once put together. I just wish we saw something coming in for their other parks.
  13. Maybe tallest coaster with inversions. That would be a crowd pleaser.
  14. Their are other parks in the chain that need a big coaster more than KD. It's been stated CF has three parks for major investment which did not include KD, and their major investment already came around with I305. Besides, sources say the next park to get one has been Valleyfair. Maybe you will get a big coaster soon, but I'm seeing no sooner than 2018.
  15. What I am hearing is how it could have been more, when in all reality every coaster could have more. Fury 325 could have more snappy twists, Maverick could have kept the barrel roll, B&M could add more airtime, and a Wacky Worm could be taller. What matters is if what they have for the coaster works as a whole. What I don't get is they actually HAVE kept most of the structure that was used, the thing is TC doesn't go through any of the turns again, and the small hills near the end of Colossus is all the structure they are chopping off, which to me is completely fine. The only real difference is instead of having two separate coasters go around the structure twice while losing momentum, this is one coaster that goes around the structure twice while keeping the momentum strong with two lifts. The pacing might be off with two lifts, but at least your getting a hauling-a$$ part 2 instead of the ride still going and you wishing the ride would just end already because you're bored.
  16. KD fans are really starting to annoy me. They get I305 four years ago yet want a big coaster like they haven't gotten one in 10 years. With this and how many are saying Fury325 won't be a good coaster, it's like Giga coasters are Volares. Don't let one idiot affect your opinion about KD fans. I've seen it on the KD thread as well, saying KD deserves a big coaster before Valleyfair even. Their are both reasonable fans of parks and then these "fans" who don't appreciate what they have or are getting, I'm just seeing a surge of the "fans" on the KD thread.

  18. The Bat opened as well. Something to do with The Bat?
  19. 1993 backwards has nothing to do with a ring of fire. He was never talking about Looping Dragon by the slightest...
  20. It's being said everywhere, and some people have contacted news outlets and that is what they are saying, as well as something being announced today as well about Cannibal.
  21. The problem is how hard it is to market a full steel sit down looper nowadays. Of course, they would be outstanding and their will be parks to buy it, but not many. Nowadays, their must be some type if gimmick to get crowds in. I wouldn't put it past RMC to come up with a gimmick to sell more coasters, though. A launched RMC would be outstanding, and there's still a large market for launched coasters.
  22. No one has brought up the announcement video yet, so I will. Why is the music and setting for the ride very light-hearted and cheery? It confuses me as SFMM has always used a much more "intimidating" or "dark" music and setting. Come to think of it, has any Six Flags park promote a new thrill coaster cheery? Has ANY other park, for that matter? The music is actually really good anyway, it just doesn't seem like it's the right marketing for a major coaster.
  23. I'm more excited for the Tilt-A-Whirl. A definite classic that every park needs!
  24. I am sort of hesitant of the two lift hills. I have a feeling it will kill the pacing of the ride.
