You should expect them to be as "open" as they have been this year. -

Sounds like you got this figured out. -
Yeah, not so much "slow degradation" as "immediate response to a crisis." But I do agree that it's not the same experience as 10 years ago. It's the same experience as 1 year ago. When you figure out why, maybe you'll cut them some slack. These are good people, and I guarantee they want even more badly than you do for service to be back up to their usual standards. Edit: Haha, and while I was typing this out, they're already on it.

"Flip Flap Railway was the name of a looping wooden roller coaster which operated for a number of years at Paul Boyton's Sea Lion Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York. The coaster, which opened in 1895, was the first looping roller coaster to operate in North America." https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flip_Flap_Railway "Victoria (Alexandrina Victoria; 24 May 1819 – 22 January 1901) was Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from 20 June 1837 until her death in 1901. Known as the Victorian era, her reign of 63 years and seven months was longer than any previous British monarch." https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_Victoria It's bad enough being pedantic. Being pedantic and wrong? Bummer.

Adventureland (Iowa) Discussion Thread
ytterbiumanalyst replied to rbpia's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow, what a rambling series of disconnected thoughts. Paragraph upon paragraph describing Google Earth images. This is not "research." There is nothing firsthand in the entire article. The author read some articles and used some mapping programs and wrote about an Internet search. Nowhere in this entire piece is there any original reporting or any actual journalism. It's sensationalism. Moving on. -
This park does a really good job of maintaining their Paramount era coasters (Flight of Fear & Backlot Stunt Coaster). And I always enjoy people's first time impressions of Adventure Express.... Yeah, that is THE standard enthusiast event lunch, though usually the onions aren't grey.... Like I alluded to before, it's best when CF lets someone else do the cooking, and that's pretty much across the board at their parks. There's a good reason so many of us rave about Chickie's and Pete's, Tom & Chee, Melt, etc. Hell, as crap as Famous Dave's is, it still bests most of the stuff at Cedar Point. But even if CF gets theif food game together (and I really hope they do), that is still gonna be The Enthusiast Lunch.

I've always gotten one of the hotels on Rt 6 right where Cedar Point Dr ends. They've all been fine and under $100--and most importantly, walking distance from Thirsty Pony. -

Sometimes, well really most of the time, my humour is too dry for the Internet. -

Dorney already looks abandoned on a regular basis, so they don't have to do much for Haunt. -

I agree with you here. I only brought that up as an attempt to answer the specific question of how likely the Biden administration might be to rescinding the 14 day travel restriction from the UK before Labour Day. The IL state government being majority Democratic and issuing a travel warning may help with some philosophic insight regardless of actual political power. Basically, if that's the direction Democrats in Springfield IL are going, it doesn't seem likely Biden administration officials will go in the opposite direction. Who knows really...but that's the logic anyway. -

Right now, no, and if anything it's going in the other direction. Illinois just issued a travel warning for people coming from Missouri and Arkansas due to Delta virus spread in those two states. We do still have over a month between then and now, and that's a lot of time for things to change. Currently Ohio is not a hotspot for the initial virus or the delta variant, so that's good news for you. I wouldn't blame you for canceling and/or rescheduling for next year. Cedar Point will still be here and be awesome in 2022! -

Thank you, Kim. As usual, teachers know better than anyone else exactly what's up. -
Summer from Hell
ytterbiumanalyst replied to CedarFlags's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm really shocked that no one has mentioned the thousands of car accidents that have happened this year shockingly involving people traveling to theme parks. It's shocking. This summer has been horrible. I'm shocked. -

Huh...seems like writing might be skilled labour too. -
There really are two kinds of theme park trains, those that are useful as transportation and those that only have one station and serve as entertainment only. As useful for transportation: 1. Cedar Point - Bonetown is awesome! 2. Kings Island - Because I don't ever want to walk to the waterpark 3. Michigan's Adventure - Literally the only way to connect the backside of that park As entertainment: 1. Silver Dollar City, Dollywood, Knott's Berry Farm - Three way tie, because all three use actual railroad rolling stock and put on a show during the trip.
