  1. That area does bottleneck pretty bad, and better pathways there would alleviate the other bottleneck near Echo Hollow (not nearly so bad post-Time Traveler, but still). Honestly even if that's all it is, that is a great thing for them to be doing. The scope of that wall, though....
  2. Really just one thing: Get the all day locker rental. You have to have a locker for El Toro and Kingda Ka (they have people standing in front of the queue turning away anyone with anything in their pockets). You didn't come all this way not to ride two badass Intamins, so do yourself a favour and just go for the all day option. When I went it was $8 (no idea if that's changed) and you can transfer between like a dozen different locker locations throughout the park. And they're big. Big enough to put my stuff and Coasterbill's and his girlfriend's stuff all in the same one. Oh, and you can totally have your phone with you if you've got a zipper pocket on everything but KK and Toro.
  3. Yep, exactly. The greater the inequality, the greater the crime. Now, whether you want to go about fixing that through poverty relief programs that raise people to a living wage, require business to pay a living wage directly, or just tax the hell out of the rich so the top tier comes down closer to the rest of us, all are ok by me. It's all relative. Reduce inequality, reduce crime!
  4. Thanks for the photos! Kangaroo and Bayern Kurve were two of the best rides at Kennywood. Sad to see them go, and fingers crossed for Kangaroo's return!
  5. No, it's not all they do, and that used to be better understood than it is now. HFE is an entertainment company. Their reason for existing is to entertain. They make a profit by entertaining so they can stay in the business of entertaining. Profit serves the mission of their business. It is not itself the mission of their business. Don't get that twisted.
  6. Yeah, a lot of coasterboys don't understand the importance of having attractions for all different kinds of people. Hopefully Six Flags learned from how Cedar Fair did it. Dinos could be their McRib.
  7. Yes they were their first year, at pretty much every park. There was a reason they were rolled out to the whole chain, they made money. The trouble was with getting repeat customers. After that first year, attendance would go off a cliff.
  8. That would be exciting, but they're not a manufacturer Dollywood hasn't used before.
  9. That seems like a good assumption...if it's not Mack, it's what, Gravity Group, Custom Coasters, Zierer, Maurer, what else?
  10. Jersey Devil is looking so good. Wonder Woman is a twisty intense little machine, really looking forward to that on a bigger scale.
  11. West Coaster at Pacific Park in Santa Monica, California. 1644 mi from these Ozarks hills.
  12. What if it's a mule go round in a challenging location?
  13. Face it, Bill, you're a hipster.
  14. They don't have pizza rollers up North. They have to improvise.
  15. I'm always pretty patient about these things. Absolutely better for a coaster to be built right than quickly. But knowing the history of this one, y'all take as long as you need to fix it up safe.
  16. Oh man, that's an entire Bingo card right there!
  17. Fun! They put on a good show at SDC a few years ago.
  18. Same here. My glowing review of it is based only on the 2017 retrack.
  19. Branson's pretty far out for most people. Our population density really still is along the East Coast, so Dollywood is easier to reach for most Americans. Thus it has higher attendance than SDC. If you have more guests, you need and can afford more attractions. More attractions means more buzz on the Internet. All these things are related.
  20. Wow, sorry to hear that. Just awful.
  21. Neither of the two I mentioned jerk you around and have the train bounce all over the place so you get a headache. It's not as simple as the train either; T3 has the new trains but it's the worst one of them all. Maybe more of a track thing? Really not sure. I just know that on the two with no square wheels, that layout is really fun.
  22. Bert, this one is one of two Vekoma SLCs in the US that don't suck, the other being the Great Nor'Easter at Morey's. Beats me how this dumpster fire of a park can take a dumpster fire of a coaster model and turn it into a really good, really fun ride, but they did!
  23. If they still can. Maybe we can get Conneaut's structural engineer to look at it once they're done with Blue Streak.
