  1. Front row of Outlaw Run with my son to finish the year. Already have our 2018 season passes. Come on, March 14!
  2. The sad part is I don't think he got it. I don't think so either. That's ok. It wasn't for him.
  3. So you can drink it. Why do rooms have walls?
  4. Because they are all in a sexual relationship with SteVen. Why is the earth round?
  5. I am completely certain that the water does not break the ride. Not once have I ever seen the train shatter into pieces after hitting the water.
  6. OMG, I just figured it out. This is where Pirates of Wildwood is going!
  7. ^^ Good advice, I'll keep that in mind. We do usually rent a fluffy bunny in the waterpark when we go to Six Flags. Sounds like that should work here too.

  9. you mean "Gully Washer" if 1st time since 2004, you'll have LOTS of new stuff: Batman, Skyscreamer, Goliath, the new Boardwalk rides (Fireball, Spinsanity, Hurricane Force 5), and probably even Pandemonium. . or was that one there already as Tony Hawk? No, I meant Thunder Rapids, the water coaster. Tony Hawk was not there yet. This was way back before I was an enthusiast, and I was just going to San Antonio with some friends from college. Because I was in college at the time, god this was so long ago now. One of my friends was from Harlingen, in northern Mexico as he called it, so he had season passes and got us in on a BAFF day. I remember being a bit reluctant, since I had been to Six Flags St. Louis and thought Fiesta Texas would just be the same thing. He assured me it wasn't, so I went along, and I'm so glad I did! It's a fantastic park. I loved Poltergeist and Road Runner Express. Superman was my first experience with a floorless, and it totally freaked me out. Still the best one I've ever been on. I also had my first experience with a Boomerang, and it put me off them immediately. Rattler was awful, and when it was RMCed I immediately made plans to come back...that got delayed.... So I'm loving your reports from there recently. Good memories with people I haven't seen since we graduated...over a decade ago now.
  10. Very nice photos! Getting really excited to get back to this park for the first time since '04. Plenty of new things, including Wonder Woman, Iron Rattler, and Thunder River!
  11. Before Memorial Day week, the park is only open on weekends. Once it goes daily, it gets pretty good attendance. You won't find super long lines unless it's BAFF on a holiday weekend or something like that, but it can get busy and waits of 30-60 minutes are totally possible. Xcalibur is not reliable. If it's a priority for you, and you see it running, go right away. It's not likely to be removed any time soon. One day is fine, shouldn't need Flash Pass if you get there right at opening and hit American Thunder and Mr. Freeze first. Justice League has single rider (or at least they did this year, they've been back and forth on that, so hard to say if it'll be back next year). If for some reason you arrive at the park and it's packed, regular Flash Pass is fine. I can't imagine a scenario that would require a higher tier. City Museum is definitely the better choice on a weekend. It can be very busy and not feel like it because everyone spreads out. Also, "very busy" for City Museum is a few hundred people, while "very busy" for Six Flags is a few thousand.
  12. The best coaster there is.
  13. Ha, you are from Buffalo! Most of the wings around here are fried first, and a lot of them obviously are pretty terrible. One good place is Harbell's in downtown Springfield. They flash fry then dip in sweet BBQ sauce. Some of the best wings I've ever had, but obviously not Buffalo style.
  14. Basic with good execution is ideal for me. Whenever I travel, I like to eat at places I don't have at home. Chains are okay if it's a chain I don't have at home, but local restaurants are better. Doesn't have to be fancy; if it's a place that does something well, then I'll enjoy it. On Thursday I'm driving 8 hours from St. Louis to Sandusky, then about 4 hours at the park, so it'll be good to relax after all that.
  15. Now here's something you bought that I can relate to. We love Dollar Tree. The kids love it too, because it's just about the only store where we don't have to tell them no. They can each pick out one thing they want, and all in I've spent $3.25.
  16. With Platinum Flash Pass, basically yes. You're not allowed to just stay on the ride; you'll need to check in with the Flash Pass line person each time. But once that person scans your pass, you can reserve a new ride. Since the Platinum reduces by 90%, you'll probably have a 3-4 minute wait on the next ride. So you have them scan your pass, reserve the same ride again, get on the ride while simultaneously queueing for your next ride, then go right back around again, and the pass will probably allow you to check in right away. Note that the same trick is available for regular and Gold too, but since Gold is only reduced 50%, and regular not at all, likely you will have some time before you can re-queue.
  17. This. The second day I was at Hershey was rainy, so Skyrush wasn't open until late afternoon, and there was still a ton to do there. Lightning Racer and Fahrenheit are both fantastic, and there's Great Bear, Coal Cracker, Storm Runner, and Sooperdooperlooper as well. All of those are very good, so even without Skyrush, this is an amazing park.
  18. Not sure why you'd want a map of crappy coasters. The alpine coaster idea is ok I guess, except that you only have half of Branson's alpine coasters. If you're missing Runaway, you're probably missing others too.
  19. Great report! I'm glad that so many are saying Lightning Rod lives up to expectations. It was a bit disappointing for me to have it closed while we were there, but we are definitely going back to Dollywood sometime in the next few years.
  20. Oh awesome! Nice to have some positive stories. Glad you got to be a part of that.
