  1. It's not coming back. I never got to ride it either, since they removed it before I had ever heard of Holiday World, but sounds like it wasn't a great experience anyway. Holiday World has awesome shows as it is, so to hear them step it up a notch it fantastic.
  2. Yeah, they own Frontier City, Magic Springs, Elitch Gardens, and Darien Lake, and I think maybe some others too. Yeah, here's the list: http://www.eprkc.com/portfolio/recreation/attractions/property-list/
  3. Best ones I've been to in each chain. Haven't been to all of any chain's parks yet. Disney: Disneyland Universal: Universal Studios Hollywood Six Flags: Six Flags Fiesta Texas Cedar Fair: Knott's Berry Farm Herschend: Dollywood EPR: Frontier City Independent: Knoebels
  4. Just now saw this. Wow, I'm "great" now? Imagine that. lol Only because it's a top 10 and not a top 15, then we would have probably had an appearance from Gatekeeper, Mystery Mine and Kingda Ka. I can only pretend to have a respectable list for so long. And all of those deserve to be. I've long said those wing coasters are underappreciated. I think I put Mystery Mine at #10 for a stint before the PA/NJ trip knocked it off. It can't cope with Skyrush or Toro, but it's still one of the most fun rides I've been on. And Ka in the front row is pure adrenaline. You don't forget it. Frankly, I think if your list looks like a typical enthusiast's, you're doing it wrong.
  5. When a thread goes from off topic to flat out weird, there's nothing but weird stuff left to say.
  6. Yeah, that's how it is for me. I have a ton of clout in the tram industry.
  7. One flight I was on, want to say it was at ORD, they got backed up and didn't have our gate ready, so they let us off on the tarmac and had a tram right there. They told us "Go directly to the tram, don't go anywhere else, there are other planes around us" and had the airplane directing people with the lights in their hands and the orange vests stand to either side of the stairs and made sure we went straight to the tram. The tram dropped us off in front of a glass door we went through and up some stairs, and then we were at the gate we should have been at. That was probably the most interesting landing I've ever had.

  9. It's not your imagination. It actually does go faster each time, because Knoebels is a magical place where the laws of physics bend to the laws of fun.
  10. I see what you did there. I thought it was really great, and definitely a unique experience. It was a different sort of ride, and didn't feel much like a roller coaster really. Just a lot of fun. I think we can both agree, though, that it's one of the top 3 wooden coasters at Knoebels.
  11. You're going to love Knoebels. Flying Turns is awesome. When you get to the station, they'll ask you how many are riding, and you'll get on a scale. They'll tell you where to sit based on weight. They don't have you sit with strangers.
  12. Agreed. At MCI and SGF I don't think it's ever taken me longer than 10 minutes from the time I entered the building until I'm at my gate. At STL, I don't think it's ever taken me less than 30. Those are the best options for me to depart from, but all of them are better than some I've flown to. Domestically LAX took me the longest to get where I was going. I have a lot of layovers in DFW, though I've never actually flown to Dallas. I can drive there in about 8 hours, so it's not worth the hassle. That thing is just too big, and getting from arrival gate to departure gate is a chore. The absolute worst airport I have ever been to, though, is CDG. From the time you can see the terminal you're going to, it's about another 20 minutes until you get there. It's like a dessrt mirage or something. Paris is an awesome city, but their airport sucks.
  13. Full disclosure, that one was mostly for you. I actually really like how MCI is set up. It's the airport I've flown out of more than any other, and a lot of it is that it's really easy. You get on a shuttle right at your parking spot, it drops you off right at your gate. There's no centralized security, but instead a bunch of small security stations throughout, so the lines are short. Yeah, sure, there are only a couple of snack bars around, but I'm not at an airport to hang out. I like that at MCI I don't have to walk a mile to get to my plane or to pick up my bags. Everything is just right at the gate.
  14. This is very good to know (if indeed currently true). And, Zach, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who will consider using public transit to get to parks. Knott's promotes $8 off a round trip with https://www.karmel.com/ I'm only using it as a one way (so no discount for me), so it's going to cost me $25 (including tip) to get from LAX to Knott's in a shared 9 passenger shuttle. Not bad, especially when an Uber estimate is starting at $50. No way I'd want to risk getting a taxi or ride share the morning of when the drive is an 1 hour +. You just call when you land, then send the shuttle around to pick you up, and you're on the way. Hopefully it'll be that easy - I'll report back next month Cool, sounds good. Maybe that's the replacement for Knott's shuttle, or for all I know, it might actually be the shuttle I was looking into a year and a half ago.
  15. If they do, most people probably wouldn't notice it's any different.
  16. I'm calling it now. Cedar Point bought a bunch of Siberian tigers and they're releasing them on the Peninsula later this week to eat all the seagulls. You heard it here first.
  17. Just be aware that you might be flying into the worst airport on the planet. What? LaGuardia is nowhere near Kansas City.
  18. I should say that they did when I was researching for WCB 2016. May or may not still be around. I ended up renting a car and finding a cheaper place to stay, but I was considering Knott's hotel.
  19. Ha, that's awesome. I can't believe we don't have one in Branson. We actually don't have any in Missouri at all. It's totally a Branson sort of place; you'd think we would.
  20. Congratulations! I found this site about 5 1/2 years ago thanks to the quality of your videos. You're good people, you know what you're doing and you do it well. Could not have been given to more deserving people.
